Thanks! To answer your questions, there was a free ice machine in the laundry room for 24/7 use. The mini-fridge in the room was not locked or preloaded with drinks and snacks. I prefer this to enable us to use the fridge as we choose. The room service is probably the best you’ll experience in comparison to any hotel. They’re accommodating, amenable to your desires, and highly proficient. Phenomenal customer service. They’re great. Lastly, there is an audible PA system in each room and in public areas. For emergency Public Announcements, the speakers in every room will be used. For normal daily announcements, the Public Announcement speakers in public areas are used to minimize in-room guest disturbances. Hopefully this helps.

There are a ton of tips and tricks. I recommend Googling “cruise things to bring” if you need ideas for packing. The next thing I’d recommend is kind of an obvious thing, but people will talk themselves out of it. The next tip is to do what you want to do (within your means), and not feel pressured to do things you don’t want to do. If you want to excursion, watch shows, casino, or let loose, you should do it. If you want to bypass those activities and just do nothing and relax, you can do that too. We do a combination of relaxing and activities, but attempt to not take the excitement of vacation away by regretting to do or not do something. Crime not really an issue at the port of calls, or the cruise lines would change the port of calls. Every country and city has crime. If you’re concerned with crime, you can ask the concierge desk on your cruise ship for information on areas to avoid. Hopefully this helps!

Typically, your embarkation passes will indicate the boarding time. You can also select your preferred boarding time when completing your online check-in process. I believe we boarded the ship at 2pm for this cruise.

Good2Know okay thank you my family and I wanted to know this is our first time leaving from Baltimore we usually fly down to Florida so we weren’t sure how early you could board sense it’s our first time leaving from our home state

When cruise ships dock at their privately leased islands, (for example, Half Moon Cay), they typically setup and cook the food for a short amount of time on the island before subsequently clearing the food. Because the workers that service the cruise ship are also the workers cooking the island food, they limit the timeframe the island food is available to allow the ship workers time to return and prepare the ship for passengers embarking from the port of call visit. Passengers must plan excursion start and end times, if they occur in the late-morning or early-afternoon, because the island food may be cleared away when the excursion concludes.

I’m doing that cruise in August 😊 We sailed on the NCL Dawn Boston-Bermuda late April of 2018 and it was cool and very rainy. They even closed the pool the first day due to wind- it looked like a wave pool with water splashing out. I hope you have better weather than we did. We’re looking forward to a different ship coming to Boston and ADORED Bermuda, can’t wait to go back in the Gem! Btw- despite the weather, we still had an amazing time.

Essentially the same size as carry-on or checked bag luggage at an airport. The screening machines appear to be the same types of machines as an airport.

The restaurants that cost extra for dining are Le Bistro French Bistro, Teppanyaki Mongolian Grill, La Cucina Italian restaurant, Cagney’s steakhouse, and the sushi bar. All the alcohol and soda beverages are extra as well.

Dining in the specialty restaurants (e.g. sushi bar, Mongolian grill, steakhouse) are extra costs.
