Some marching band arrangements I do in my spare time. Requests might be possible. Just ask.
If you like what you hear, give it a thumbs up; if not, let me know. I'm using this UA-cam page for legitimate feedback purposes, so be honest, and thanks for listening.

DCI Cadets 1997 - Transcription (Full Show)
Hey, everyone! I've been very busy, but here's another transcription for you. This is my transcription of the Cadet's 1997 show "Celebration". It featured the music of Philip Sparke "Year of the Dragon", "Celebration", and "The Land Of The Long White Cloud"
I know where some of the mistakes are, and some places I've got no clue as to what's really happening (like the time signatures from 5:00 to 6:15). But...I figured I'd go ahead and put it up.
Keep in mind that the score is for G bugles, as originally performed. Enjoy!
I've had a couple of people pm me and ask if I use scores to help write stuff out. When it comes to transcriptions, the answer is no.

DCI Spirit of Atlanta 1979 - Transcription (Full Show)
Переглядів 6 тис.9 років тому
My attempt at a transcription of Spirit's 1979 show - originally by Jim Ott. The score is for G bugles, as it was originally designed for. Set it to 1080p, turn up the volume, & enjoy!
DCI Cavaliers 2003 - Transcription (Full Show)

Here is my transcription of Richard Saucedo's composition "Spin Cycle" for the Cavaliers. He's a great composer, but there are times where it's somewhat difficult to understand what's happening within the texture. Therefore, there might be a few more mistakes than expected. Due to the nature of the composition, you'll notice I added a bit more front ensemble parts. You also might notice that I ...
DCI Cadets 2000 - Transcription (Full Show)

My transcription of the Cadets' 2000 show (music by Gavin Greenway for Disney World's Millennium Celebration). As expected, there are errors, but it was still fun! The pit stuff is really just a basic reduction. Man, it would have been awesome to play that Mellophone book! No, I won't give you the music. If I recall correctly, Jay Bocook adapted it for high school bands and published it - very ...
Future Corps - One More Time Chuck Corea, Transcription
Переглядів 6 тис.9 років тому
Transcription of Future Corps arrangement (G Bugles). The solo is taken from the studio recording. The rhythm of the improv solo is not entirely accurate, as he's all over the place, but this should give you a general idea. Additionally, I wrote the cadenza-like section like that for playback purposes.
DCI Madison Scouts 1997 - Transcription (Full Show)
Переглядів 5 тис.9 років тому
I had a little bit of free time this week, so I decided to transcribe Madison's 1997 show. Keep in mind the score is for G bugles, as it was originally arranged for. Of course, it's not entirely accurate, but it should give you an idea of what the parts look like. If I had more time, I'd go back and fix a couple of spots. Hope you enjoy!

Any chance of getting a copy of the score to look over?
I have the first two measures of this tattooed on my left arm as a sleeve. THAT'S how much I loved Cadets 1997...even more than our show in 2000.
8:40 closer
Wie kann man die Noten erwerben?
Very good! The mellos [all four of us] were not involved in that busy soprano deal in Nutville!
I would be interested in getting an arrangement of this! If available let me know what you were thinking in terms of price...and yes...1980 Crossmen
is it possible to get the link to thsi for my band director so we can play it as a standstill?
Do cadets 1992
TRANSCRIBE THE DRUM PARTS YOU COWARD! 😉
Doing this for the high school marching band this year. Getting a preview of what it's gonna sound like it's amazing. Can't wait for the steps
Please do scv 1999
That was about the worst sounding "marching band" I've ever heard.
its amazing how awful Midi Sounds
you should make a score to the 88 scouts mello solo
i think i might have a new favorite show
fuck that's good
I marched this show. I have the scores to it. I'm sorry for saying this, after putting in a lot of hours on it, but it's not even close.
Oh, I knew there were many mistakes prior to even putting it up here. Plenty I figured out later and plenty I still don't know what's exactly going on in places. It happens. I only put about 4 hours (or so) into it, so it wasn't much of a bother. Would love to see the original score to compare. Cheers!
Awesome
Sick transcription.
Thanks! There are definitely some mistakes (I only spent a couple of days on it), but it should be pretty close.
OMG mm 279 cracks me UP for reasons few know:)
Hearing this is so great....
"Under the long white cloud" (I believe) by the same composer.
Nice. I wish you included the Timpani parts. (I realize though, that they are far harder to hear, unfortunately.) Unless you were there every single morning with us. Ain't never forgettin' THAT stuff:)
Played this in marching band field show competition in 1986. Brings back memories ❤️
This is Awesome!
What I like about seeing this score is its variety; It isn't busy all the time showing off. Yes, it has its moments, but they are subordinate to the overall effect. Sometimes the listener is allowed to rest in silence, appreciate some melody and lyricism or just languish in a beautiful chord or chord change. It has the deep river power of inventiveness rather than the shallow creek energy of the merely frenetic.
That’s exactly right.
Exactly why I loved marching this show, along with the many music and drill capitulations.
Could I get a score?

7:52 Your EARS 😍😍 😍😍 😍😍 😍😍 😍
Cool! I marched in 1980. Maybe you could transcribe Old Man River and then you'd have both the 79 AND 80 shows. Nice job!!
Hello- I am interested in purchasing this arrangement. Can you please email me at allison.biederman@mnps.org? Thanks!
I am the Director of the ConcordArts music program and I'd be interested in obtaining a copy of the score for this arrangement. How would I go about doing that. You can email me at info@concordarts.org. Thank you.
I think spirit 2018 could be a good show to do seeing as you did Spirit 1979. See how much the corp has changed in 40 years
The mello parts are too cool!
I love you. Thank you.
Can I get a link to where this is available on?
Angle Kneegroan If you are referring to the sheet music... If you are not the director of a band program, this (and everything else I have) is unavailable.
Wait would yu read the baritone parts like a trumpet part?
Shrimp Man A lot of corps arrangers wrote all parts during the G bugle era in treble clef.
No, read it like a baritone part.
If you did Blue Devils 2010, I’d be so impressed. I might be the only fan in DCI who likes that show, though. If not that then maybe a classic show like Cadets 1984.
Hey, how can i get a copy of the conductors score, I would like one for use in competition
I was introduced to corps in 1993. This is still my favorite show ever. I love actually hearing uplifting melodies.
mrfld 1993 had some VERY good shows from multiple corps
Perfection. Jim Ott is the man.
Jim Ott arranged the low brass in Bass Clef because we were trombone and tuba players.
I'll keep that in mind when I do another Ott transcription
V nice!
WOW!! THANK YOU!! What you did w/ Let it Be Me was killer!!! I think Jim Ott would love this!!
@0:55 YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
link?
This is amazing. Outstanding job! I played through this on trumpet few times. The music is amazing and my favorite Cavie show!
How did you transcribe this?
Rod Purvis By ear
Very cool - I forgot that everything was treble clef back in those days, though I'm pretty sure I remember not being able to play 2nd line/space G#/Ab on any 2-valve bugles except french horns (which were a beyatch to play standing still much less on the move) ;-)
You think you could do their version of Birdland, Bohemian Rhapsody, and First Circle? :)
My high school is playing a version of this for our show this year
does anyone know what the part around 6:15 is from? Or is it original to the show?
Original music written for the show
