This channel features nearly 40 years of original and cover music videos of Detroit band The Shy. Thanks for visiting.
Nobody but Me - The Shy at some place in 1985
Mike Sackey and Larry Decker met in 1969 with a fist fight in a Catholic School parking lot... they were both 10 years old and it was the first day of 5th grade. The arch-enemies would have more fist fights over the years until eventually gaining some mutual respect. In 9th grade they cut last hour by 10 minutes.'.. walking home Sackey mentioned he had drum lessons that night... Decker said "wait... what?" The band started that night... since then they've played empty dive bars to 30,000 roaring people at the packed Pontiac Silverdome where The Shy (named in 1981) was invited to perform their original composition, a military tribute named Thank You Jo(e) at a Presidential Rally... 5 singles, 2 EPs and 6 albums from 1983-2017. All with the help of collaborators, compadre's, and other members of The Shy: John Hagle, Ken York, Paul Lark and Bob Livernois... Together, these people, especially "Sack" saved my life, gave me purpose, and I am grateful - Larry Decker

A performance at TRAXX in Detroit 1984... a staple in The Shy's live show for over 35 years... simple, fun, and a crowd pleaser.

Reason number 1 why you should never leave a concert before the last song if you don't know what it might be.. Windsor 2024. Don't know Peter personally, but he sure seems like a sweet and genuine human being. This show is in my top 5 concerts... and I had 2nd row at the Frampton Comes Alive Tour in Detroit 1976.
"Michigan Is" by Marko Strika and his dad (A nice day in the woods)
Переглядів 1632 місяці тому
While cutting my teeth as a young performer I would often go to the local lounge to watch Marko do his solo gig... His voice was a mix of Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck... and people loved him. One thing we had in common beside our love of music, was love of outdoor Michigan. He has passed recently, and in an attempt to preserve his memory and this song written by Marko and his dad, I'm po...
Paul's Love for American Music

I just love this clip... no Little Richard, no Chuck Berry, and no Motown? Then maybe no Beatles. Not to mention at this point Elvis was making movies, we lost Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, Big Bopper and Eddie Cochran. Some scandals with a few other American rockers... The future of Rock and Roll may have been in trouble. The British invasion inspired musicians around the world (including Americ...

Old Friends

Sack and Nora were always good for throwing unique and fun party's in their basement... This time, Sack had everyone form a band, pick a song, select wardrobe and lip sync while he filmed with an old 8mm camera... must've been the mid 80's that we did this, Some friends slip away, and some friends pass away. Sound track by The Shy "Beetle Bomp" from the Give Me Your Hands Lp

The Shy with Phil Hale Live In The "D"
Looks like a basement gig, guessing a friend's party? Haven't been on Facebook in a couple hrs, nice to see the old gigs on UA-cam. Dig the tribute in the description to Sack, Paul and the other members over the years. I can still go back to the mid 80's getting ready to hit, Griffs grill or paper clip, or my favorite lillys 21 with D3. Or getting my post card of the up and coming gigs penned to, Dandy Don Farlow. While I miss many who are saving a spot in the next journey. I'm often reminded how blessed I was to have grown up in Dresden subdivision. Time truly does fly, thank God for clips like these to remind me how lucky my life has been. Thanks Larry for these videos to stir my memories of the way it was going up in arguably the best neighborhood that went to Henry Ford ll.
Love you Donny
The Beatles are the reason why I learnt english. Love them since 1964 and my brain exploded with their music, love them ever since. Of course I still miss John and George! the irony is that I had my ticket in december 1980 to go to Liverpool the next january. Needless to say that I was like a zombie walking in Liverpool after the tragedy. Oh well but I have their music. thanks for sharing this wonderful moment with Paul.
this audio is from the wings over america album but in mono...
Well Deserved
It's exhilarating to see Peter finally receive induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an honor that is certainly well-deserved and long-awaited.
Yes it is!!!!!
Frampton&Doobie Brothers do Clapton's Let It Rain.. excellent! Meanwhile, this is great!
Fantastic!
Vote for Peter!!
Great song and great video!!!
Thanks Mark!
Such a "cocky" performance and I remember seeing the Shy at TRAXX.
@998SBayliss… I can understand why you might feel that way. The band was very young, it was a very intense night, and the adrenaline was definitely flowing. Was really just trying to put on a good show🤷🏼 One can learn a lot in 40 years… sometimes I even annoy myself 😂💕
Mr Frampton sat at our table in a show @ Turningstone and sang to my wife. Great man!
One of my favorites!!
Thanks Mark…
Paul McCartney Is The Best 💯

Larry, thank you so much for posting this amazing video! I love that you even focused in on his guitar on the big screen!! His fingering on the Phenix is still a thing of beauty! Awesome job! And SO appreciated by us fans who couldn't be there!

Boa, que bom saber que tá na ativa, meu amigo
Votar pir Frampton,es lo más justo y correcto..Sanseacabo.
Thanks for sharing...so good! 😊
I agree with you, Larry! Gary Penz and I saw him in Akron a few years ago and it was a great show!
What a class act! His music is pretty good too. 😜
Must feel weird to walk into a room and have everyone stop and stare at you.
Wo....fabulous! 👍
Hi Lorenzo, I think this is a fantastic film! Have you still not been able to locate the original film reel this came from?
Hi Adam… I’m afraid the original is gone. Too bad too, because I have been using new technology to transfer 8mm films and this would be really cool to have done!
@@LorenzoMartinezz Darn, that’s a shame. I agree, it could have looked truly amazing with a proper scan! But still, thank you so much for posting this and sharing it with the world. Would you still happen to have the actual file that you used to post this online, or is this UA-cam upload the last surviving version?
@@LorenzoMartinezz BTW, I’ve done a sync of this film a while ago and it may be on my UA-cam page…luckily we have two films from this show, including yours!
@@adambound7284 not sure where that original file is. I will look for it, if I find it I’ll let you know.
First time I saw this! Awesome!!
That would be be Elvis. I met him and he was like that.
Sweet...
I had to laugh at the standup "Fender Jazz bass"
This man has handled fame better than anyone on the planet. 🌎 love you Paul!
who doesn't love Paul?
What a memory
Paul Mcartney, él músico rockero más grande de la historia. Grandes canciones, brutalmente lo mejor! Él Escape de la Banda. La granja de Junior. Con un poco de suerte. Hi. Hi. Hi., Otro día. Almirante Halsey. Vive y deja morir. Paul Mcartney. Sir de la música mundial. WOW.

That was beautiful.
Great stuff man , memories my old van and my CR 125 best days ever.
He's a total gentleman
James Paul McCartney died in car crash on September 11 1966 and was replaced by William (Billy). This is THE TRUTH no matter what.

I've met Paul, nice est person, very down to earth
Come to liverpool and see where the great man comes from.
He is real generous, he knows that not only shaking hands will leave an impression but he makes sure to put his hands on the girls shoulders knowing that will always be something they remember. That was cool.
Exactly. People give him a hard time but your one of most famous people in history. Great comment, obviously I am biased from Liverpool. Take care😊
And in a few more years and he will be able to walk on water....
GOAT
Greatest Of All Time indeed!!
