Panasonic GX-85: accidentally turning on post Focus or 4K photo mode
Переглядів 28 тис.6 років тому
Press the FN one or FN three buttons on the back of the camera to turn off either 4K photo mode or post Focus, neither which have any business in Dental photography. I also show how to deactivate them by reassigning the FN buttons to do something less disruptive.

If your Gx-85 is unexpectedly shooting three shot bursts, check these settings: drive mode, post focus, and 4k photo. Drive mode should be single. Post focus and 4k photo should be turned off.
Putting together your GX-85 kit with the Divuser
Переглядів 9006 років тому
First we take the body cap off the GX-85. Next, we line up the red dots on the Olympus 60mm macro lens and lock it into place. Third, lock the Panasonic Lumix FL200-L flash firmly in place on the hot shoe. Finally, line up the arrow on the bottom of the Divuser barrel to the white stripe on the top of the lens tip. The divuser will be tilted to the right (shutter button) side of the camera. You...

Getting a custom white balance on the GX-85 using a WhiBal card
Переглядів 4,2 тис.7 років тому
Here's how to set custom white balance on the Panasonic Lumix GX-85 1) get your camera properly set up. (watch the initial setup video) 2) get a white balance target (sometimes called a gray card) The WhiBal G7 card was $20 at time of posting may be purchased here: (affiliate link) amzn.to/2xl90FI The Photovision Gray Target is a bigger, and therefore easier to aim and harder to lose. It can al...
thank you! I was having the issue on my g85 and exploring the bracket menu allowed me to find the setting causing my problem.
Is there a way to get back those 'pictures' back into jpeg?
Thank you so much! My camera was stuck turning photos into mp3s and when I checked a bunch of supposedly helpful "this technician will answer your question" sites, I saw people asking the same questions and be given the obvious answers "are you using the recording button?" etc. This fixed my problem immediately. Thank you thank you. Will avoid the Fn2 button!
Did you mention what kind of lens you had on the camera? One with a manual focus ring?
I have a Lumix DC-FZ80 and accidentally hit both the 4K and Post Focus buttons, but can't figure out how to turn that back off!! HELP!
Thanks so much for this very helpful video! Any idea how I can convert photos taken in this post focus mode so I can download them as photos to my computer? Unbeknownst to me, I took a ton of photos while it was in this mode, not knowing how to turn it off till I saw your video. So now I have the photos on the memory card, in video format, but they will not load as photos/stills for me to use and post. Thanks for your help!!
I found your review helpful. My problem is that in error many of my photos are recorded as MP4's. Is there anyway I can convert these MP4's to jpeg. Thanks
Not easily. Make sure your camera is in photo mode. Sorry I haven't used the camera in a long time so I can't help further
Just picked the GH 85 up yesterday and am learning the focus. That back focus is so useful! Thank you for this, much appreciated!
Very helpful, thank you
Thanks was helpful for me
How to set the Gx85 so when the photoshoot frame crop in the scren or viewfinder is the same size as the result in manual setting?
Thank you very much... I needed this video!
Thanks for this. That post focus has no place in any photography as far as I know, VERY frustrating, and far too easy to turn on accidentally.
Thanks for the demo, the only complain is .. you should have shown the before and after of the pics.
Ok I know this is a ridiculous question but you see the AF button on the right hand side of the camera how do I GET THAT! Lol
G-85 user here. It was the exposure bracket for me. I inadvertently turned it on while playing with the ISO settings and the exposure compensation simultaneously. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction
Useless if you use an ultra wide lens....
can you guys help me .. when i shoot under IA mode my shots are being saved on my pc as videos . how can that be fixed ?
Thanks that was fantastic
This was great, thank you!
Thank you for this very helpful information... worked for the Lumix as noted below
This was exactly what I was looking for! Thank you. I think this will help a ton while shooting video.
I have this problem right now. No idea what I pressed to get into post focus until you just showed me!
I figured it out. I was in Ia mode, not A mode. Be gone forever Post Focus!!! I've hit that stupid button a dozen times and turned this on. THen I spend the next 15 minutes hitting buttons with no idea what I did until I finally get on youtube and look up how to turn it off again. Thanks for the video!
Back button focus ,no,never! Useless!
You're my new favorite person. Thanks man!
What camera arr you using??
Hey, what's that lamp for that camera?
Why aren't you using a ring flash? Any specific reason? Thanks
focus peaking??????
Hello. Just for curiosity. What's the model of your flash? Thank you
Do I have to be in Custom setting to do this?
great help thanks, with camera set to manual focus often I have one camera on tripod and the other for moving shots doing videos. when i need to shut off camera on tripod (saving battery life) then turn it back on the focus changes? which slows things down a bit. love to fix this? thanks for any help
Very useful, Thanks a lot!
Very useful! I never knew about the back button focus. Thank you!! This should solve my focusing issues.
thumb down. you just change the option but you didn´t say what to mouve, turn or touch to change the fucus, bad lesson
Hi. Do you know why it's not possible to manually adjust focus after using the AF-ON button? It's only possible while holding the button. That isn't really logical to me. Also, is there a way to set AF focus type if it's in manual mode and using the AF-ON? The single area is just not flexible enough.
Hi, what lens are you using?
I see that you are taking single snaps. I only get continuous video shot when I press the click button. Then I have to choose a still from the video. No direct single snap How to get the single snap with the press of the button as you seem to do here. Can you explain please
I have experienced the 3 shots occasionally but discovered that, for some reason, it was due to bracketing being enabled, not burst mode. Bracketing is available in iA+ and in use, somehow it became enabled, 3 shots, one under exposure, one correct and one over exposed. I could be shooting quite normally and then, all of a sudden, click click click. Now I know to turn bracketing off and the problem is solved. I don't know why it somehow gets turned on.
That's happened to me as well...just as you described.
Many, many thanks!! I'd just bought a Lumix TZ90 and had exactly the same problem: your video saved me soooo much frustration!
THANKS
Nice video
I am so grateful to you for this video. I am experiencing cognitive decline and was literally in tears of frustration, trying to navigate the menu options on my own. Thank you for your pleasant voice and calm teaching manner!
in custom: Lock is not clickable.
Greetings from the UK. Finally I now understand back button focusing. Thank you. I have subscribed so please keep the GX85 tips coming. (GX80 in the UK)
Thanks for sharing. Very informative.
Is there a way to turn that MF assist in video mode? While recording video?
Is that a microphone on top?! If so, which one??
I think it's a flash. The GX85 doesn't have a microphone jack.
I really like the look of the dmw-fl200l flash gun but can you confirm if you can swivel the flash gun left/right to allow bounce of the ceiling when using the camera in the portrait position. Thanks in advance
Joseph Lawson it only swivels up and down
Divuser Macro thanks for replying so quickly! Not the answer is was hoping for but it has saved me spending money to find out :)
Very useful tip! Thank you! What's that diffuser you have on your flash? Do you know of anything smaller that would just exactly fit the flash itself? Thanks again.
Hanz Solo the diVUser is available for order at vulephoto.com/cameras
Hanz Solo there are lots and lots of flash mounted diffusers. They are mostly useless for dental which is why i developed mine.
