    Not boom, that would not be USCG approved.

    You are required to have a light at night, an all-around white light on any watercraft that is non-motorized, visible from 2 nautical miles. Technically if your theoretical hull speed is above 7 knots/8 mph, no matter boat size and propulsion used then at night you are required to have Coast Guard approved running lights (red, green, white stern light). I like your light idea but is not needed; however, your all-around white light must be approved. If you are using all-around white light in combo with red/green running lights then it's a bit confusing as if someone sees a white light shining forward with the red/green lights that means they are looking at a sailboat under motor power, not under sail. There are rules and they have meaning. I am a national safe boating instructor.

    I would say if u have a roof a/c you have to change out that roof gasket every couple of years no matter what. And they are already cheap enough off Amazon that it’s not a big deal. And it’s not hard.

  • @Young937phoenix
    @Young937phoenix 2 місяці тому

    This is true!! I have a 2001 that I just got for free that has been sitting in garage it’s whole life and the roof needs rebuilt because there is a A/c unit on top and I have now taken a/c off to inspect and it’s because the gasket over time have dried up and when they had it camping then it rains water got in and ruined the inside of roof and holds water. I’m thinking about not putting it back in when I rebuild the roof this winter.

    Pretty nice install. Zip tie some bug mesh to the vent and its a great system. I like the window unit on the outside video you did which saves space but this helps you run in the rain and take humidity out, something for me to think about.

    These won't work inside a 12x10 aluminum back porch closure at all we needed window unit. It faces South has mixed deciduous/ pines ( evergreen) trees This was 4 years ago they have tiny window unit today cheap cheap cheaper then inside mods But in camper uses you can likely use under more shade trees if its ac weather?

    Hey there! Wanting to do something similar to this with our popup, and have a couple questions. Why did you decide to place the mounting brackets and AC unit in that particular spot? I think personally I’d prefer to have ours on the other side of the camper but wanted to make sure there wasn’t a specific reason the spot you used might be best. Also, have you noticed if the weight of the AC unit pulls the roof out of alignment at all? For our camper, if it is just a little unlevel our door has a hard time opening/closing and don’t want something like this to make that harder. Thanks!

    You are a genius! I have been using a single hose portable AC in my canvas tent and even with 12000 btus, it just could not hold up to the Texas heat. I had major issues with the canvas sucking in and bugs getting in. Also when we camp in humid areas, the unit had to be set up to drain constantly, sometimes getting water in the tent. You solved all these problems!!! I can’t wait to try this in my tent. No cutting, no bugs and cool air!!! Thank you so much. 😊
