How To Install Portable AC in Pop Up Camper
Not boom, that would not be USCG approved.
You are required to have a light at night, an all-around white light on any watercraft that is non-motorized, visible from 2 nautical miles. Technically if your theoretical hull speed is above 7 knots/8 mph, no matter boat size and propulsion used then at night you are required to have Coast Guard approved running lights (red, green, white stern light). I like your light idea but is not needed; however, your all-around white light must be approved. If you are using all-around white light in combo with red/green running lights then it's a bit confusing as if someone sees a white light shining forward with the red/green lights that means they are looking at a sailboat under motor power, not under sail. There are rules and they have meaning. I am a national safe boating instructor.
I would say if u have a roof a/c you have to change out that roof gasket every couple of years no matter what. And they are already cheap enough off Amazon that it’s not a big deal. And it’s not hard.
This is true!! I have a 2001 that I just got for free that has been sitting in garage it’s whole life and the roof needs rebuilt because there is a A/c unit on top and I have now taken a/c off to inspect and it’s because the gasket over time have dried up and when they had it camping then it rains water got in and ruined the inside of roof and holds water. I’m thinking about not putting it back in when I rebuild the roof this winter.
Do You Know Where I can Find and Buy the all the Materials that Are Available so it looks like the same Urinal that You Have.
Thank You Hobin & Knobbin from Matthew Lee Schumer.
Had to fast-forward through 80% of of this video as it is WAY, WAY too much chitchat
Complaining about everything!
Pretty nice install. Zip tie some bug mesh to the vent and its a great system. I like the window unit on the outside video you did which saves space but this helps you run in the rain and take humidity out, something for me to think about.
I want a list of Materials and I want to do this from scratch so I don’t have stuff laying around please.
Make self tapping screws stainless too hardware
Ingenious set-up
Love idea🎉👍🏽
Man and his bucket 😂 i made a washer out one with center hole in lid for plunger 🪠 can also use without hole and throw in trunk to ride over bumpy roads 😅
Also a fishing hole slash bathroom on a fly 😂 geter dun
These won't work inside a 12x10 aluminum back porch closure at all we needed window unit. It faces South has mixed deciduous/ pines ( evergreen) trees This was 4 years ago they have tiny window unit today cheap cheap cheaper then inside mods But in camper uses you can likely use under more shade trees if its ac weather?
We brang window unit and chair in tent half in out dont judge me 😂
I don't understand the bucket if its hitting ground by a tree 😂
Anybody seen somebody useing them johnny wee tubing just walking an whizzing 😂 who in the world? Be great in war i guess lol Mardi gras 😂
2 doors work in triangle standing upright with hinges to each other you can set them on top of pallets with 2x4s blocks on bottom to pallets both sides then shower curtain/ rod at top 😁
Stupid people only!!
Can mod the single hose A/C to a dual hose. Just depends on what model you get though.
I think this is a great way to add a/c to the pop up! Thank you!
💯 same problem
Do you have a link to the deck hatch?
Nice, I'm glad it works for you! Its a great fit! Only thing is that not all pop up tent trailers have small rectangular zipper windows like yours have, unfortunately.
I don't believe you said what BTU ac you used?
Thanks, that's a good idea. Although your trailer has a nice narrow wall section. Are window units are waterproof enough to be installed like this? I just never owned a window AC
Thanks fro your video. I have been wanting to put my vent out the window , but my windows are the type that open like a door upwards. And I don't think I would be able to put it there. But I will do it like this.
What do you use to power the 10k ac? If a generator inverter how big?
Excellent idea-using it for our poolside shower when the kids get out -thanks a million- plus who doesn’t have a broken shade frame-ingenious
Is rain an issue? I love this. Ur videos r so informative. I’ll keep watching. We’re 2 days into our 2004 coachman clipper sport 107. Loving it. Thank you so much for all ur ingenuity.
I want to do this, I only have 25" clearance when the beds are pushed in. How do you transport it from place to place? I could only fit it with the beds pulled out
Hey there! Wanting to do something similar to this with our popup, and have a couple questions. Why did you decide to place the mounting brackets and AC unit in that particular spot? I think personally I’d prefer to have ours on the other side of the camper but wanted to make sure there wasn’t a specific reason the spot you used might be best. Also, have you noticed if the weight of the AC unit pulls the roof out of alignment at all? For our camper, if it is just a little unlevel our door has a hard time opening/closing and don’t want something like this to make that harder. Thanks!
Portable AC units are NOISY!
They all make some kind of noise. All ac units make noise. You invent a non noisy ac unit bro & we all will buy from you!😉
I'm just going to take out my useless refrigerator where there's already a hole in the wall.. build a frame and make it permanent.. my camper doesn't have the individual zipper areas for the windows.. so not really an option
I don't see a video of your window AC. Did you post it?
Great idea, terrible video. Get some order to your instruction. And a website that no longer exists? Remember, internet lasts forever. You ought to remove this video. No help to anyone
Where did you get that flange??
I've always fancied a Mariner 4 because the are relatively long but unfortunately there's no way of attaching fold away wheels on the transom and handle on the front for easier maneuverability.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I would have installed a mesh screen on the bottom so critters wouldn’t crawl up the hose
Mine is charged but keeps shutting off
One question, now that you've had for 3 years, how did the ceramic coating held up, did it start to flake or is it still intact? thanks
I just got one this a couple of days ago and haven't tried it yet. I'm scared lol But am wondering the same thing and if it's necessary to season this griddle or not since it's ceramic coated.
you do not need to season it@@uniquedivas
Take the axle out and paint it Might help with corrosion
Awesome idea! This is the way I will be going next year. I’m picking up my new Pop up in two weeks so I most likely won’t need it till next season. Thanks again. I was on the verge of deciding on a portable unit.
Materials list?
You are a genius! I have been using a single hose portable AC in my canvas tent and even with 12000 btus, it just could not hold up to the Texas heat. I had major issues with the canvas sucking in and bugs getting in. Also when we camp in humid areas, the unit had to be set up to drain constantly, sometimes getting water in the tent. You solved all these problems!!! I can’t wait to try this in my tent. No cutting, no bugs and cool air!!! Thank you so much. 😊
I have this same one in my camper in the outdoor kitchen. I bought a table for it and cook everything outside. It's absolutely great.
id be wondering how long the springs would last
