I’ve had a Jeep wrangler for almost ten years. I bought it brand new from de dealer. I started having the water leak problem on year 4. I’ve spent so much trying to fix it with no success. The driver and passenger floor are rusted. Lesson: Don’t ever buy a Jeep again.

As a former Xterra owner and now two year jeep wrangler owner, I hate to say this but Jeeps are crappy, unreliable vehicles that look really good.

It leaks because whoever installed the seal at the factory across the top of the windshield left about 8-10” of the adhesive backing on one side or the other! 100% of time! Easy fix! Has nothing to do with this junk.

Easy fix for all the leaks... Put a bead of black RTV over the problem area, put plastic wrap over the RTV, close the door or top (whatever is contacting), and leave it to dry. Remove the plastic wrap after it dries and you have a perfectly molded seal. Worked flawlessly on the top and door seals on my old 2012.

How will does it work with a soft top?

I bought my first Jeep this past June (2024 JLU) and noticed water breaching the seals along the door sill when I take it through the touchless car wash. The water literally shoots in to the Jeep when the water jets hose off the lower part of the vehicle. Not sure if that’s a “normal” thing or if I should invest in some type of aftermarket seal along the doors.

Interesting, BUT, that was "Hardly" a water test..IMO.

I just thought the "Jeep Leak" was something we knew about and lived with. 😅

back the damn camera up. you keep going forward and back, forward and back. we can't see where your finger is pointing because you have the camera too close and your finger is out of frame. and stop repeating your self over and over. make a Why it leaks video and a How to install video and not waste time repeating the Why it leaks over and over. we are smart enough to figure out the Why already by looking at our own leaks.

😅I'm guessing the removal of the fender liner and using a pick or grabber tool to pull the debris from the drain isnt an option. No, you may not get every piece of debris out, but your probably not risking damaging a body panel either.

Thanks for the videos I've watched a few. Is it necessary to replace that seal at the top ? It seems kinda useless if debri can still get in there...

If your jeep leaks, you’re either a dummy or it’s trying to do its purpose, get you closer to nature. In all seriousness. I have a 97 wrangler. If a see a leak, I unlatch the top and loosen the bolt, shift it, redo everything and BOOM… no leaks duh. Dumb owners of an enthusiast car. Like bringing a Lamborghini to the masses wouldn’t work. Pecker heads don’t know how to deal with its quarks.

How do you know if they are clogged in the first place?

It’s a joke the door and noise all that and now trey asking $95000 for new jeep with not much technology upgrade. They changed the electric windows finally and charging 50k more for that ! I have also Mercedes cost half of the price and can’t compare with the technology. I wish Mercedes makes off-road class for $95 000 so I can buy that car but I guess just G wagon and put off road tires 🛞 probably drives as good if not better then wrangler 🙊

The Wrangler leaks are f*cking ridiculous. Absolutely no excuse for Chrysler not to have solved 30 years ago. List of annoying Wrangler issues is long, but this is number 1 for me.

I have the same issue on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I previously owned a 2016 Grand Cherokee and didn't have this problem.

My 02 TJ has never leaked till I got a new door seal to make it quieter and now the passenger side leaks. I'm going to try another new door seal of a different brand first because this one is not exactly like the driver door that I replaced 8 years ago and it does not leak. They are only $60.00 so why is this kit so expensive? Mine leaks even if I ducktape the entire door before it rains.

People you know there plugs in the floor right?

Z shape from automotive parts store worked out great for me. It's pretty easy to find if not in stock or Amazon, eBay hint hint. The glue u can find anywhere even Wal Mart. Hope this works for everyone else and will save u something money. It's not a proprietary seal by any means.
