Off-road beat down: Husqvarna FE 501S Heritage 2025
Getting another beat down while the weather allows for it. Amazing day, still getting used to stand up position on the 501, probably need bar risers. Great day with more new discoveries. #husqvarna #motorcycle #ride #insta360 #adv #adventure #nature #offroad #forest

These are some of the best trails I've been on, punching above my weight on this one but I'll keep coming back. The trails are endless, looks like we've only scratched the surface. #husqvarna #motorcycle #ride #insta360

We decided to try out Section 1 of the Northeastern Backcountry Discovery Route in the fall, it was cold, it was hard to see obstacles under the foilage, but it was fun and pretty. #ride #motorcycle #ducati #yamaha #insta360 #adv #offroad #ridebdr

Off-roading in a secret location near New York City

A kind soul shared this route with me, and it's been a great practice ground. I had to promise to only share this route in person, unfortunately. What an amazing day of riding today on the Husqvarna 701 Enduro, got to put a lot of work in, explore new trails and get some exercise. It's been such a rough two years, but today was one of the happier days. If you don't have one, are you going to ge...
Off-roading near New York City on a Husqvarna 701 Enduro

Who knew New York had trails like this less than an hour away from the city? It just wasn't my day today, ended with a minor but painful injury. I learned a lot and I'm excited to hit these trails again with a bit more caution. Glad I had the experienced riding team with me today. #ridesafe #ride #motorcycle #insta360 #adv #husqvarna #offroad

Explored a secret location in the urban jungle only minutes from the Queensboro bridge. An amazing training ground. Many thanks to the riders that toured us around here. Yes, we're very new to jumps, practice makes perfect. 😂 Stayed late to practice some fundamentals. I won't be using this camera angle anymore though, too downward facing. #ride #motorcycle #insta360 #husqvarna #yamaha #aprilia ...

Getting some coaching in with @thedirtbikeacademy and getting ready for an exciting project to grow the adventure riding community in the North East. It always amazes me how these trails are different every single time I ride them. Tried out a different camera angle today to provide a better feel for the terrain and cockpit. #husqvarna #motorcycle #ride #radegarage #insta360 #ridebdr

Husqvarna 701 Enduro practice in deep sand in New Jersey
Переглядів 1204 місяці тому
Took my Husqvarna 701 Enduro to the Pine Barrons to practice on whoops and deep powder sand, what an experience a lighter-weight adventure bike makes off-road. Excited to see what Ducati has in store for the future. I screwed up battery charging somehow and my camera ran out of juice before the really good parts. These are relatively easy trails for what the Pine Barrons has to offer. Excited t...

Presenting my completed Husqvarna 701 Enduro build. Weeks of research, waiting on parts from all over the world culminated in an amazing build by @kevinlewi323 from Motorcycle Mall. Here is a clip from my first test ride. Until Ducati inevitably comes to dominate the Enduro market, I wanted to experience my own light-weight unicorn adventure build. How’s the low end torque?
You sold the 701 for a 501?
No. Kept both. This way I have a back up if one is at the garage. 701 still better for longer distances due to the maintenance interval.
Is it also fun to ride slow? Or do you have to go fast to have an enjoyable ride on it? Because I had a vmax which was huge fun but only at higher revs, to just cruise below 4k rpm did not feel nice on the vmax and I ended up selling the bike. Many in-line 4s are also like that. V twins like Harleys are hugely enjoyable cruising slow but not so much going fast. Is the v4 diavel one of the rare bikes that excel at both? Or just fast high rev riding?
It's fun slow, at lower RPMs you should be comfortable feathering clutch. It feels great though and doesn't require as much RPM as the desmo engines.
My kinda riding 👍
Dude I want to go here! Where is this Queens in the Bronx?
Luv dis bike but! That bloody air filter? That’s a problem!🙏🙏👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Don’t tease us! Tell us where? I’m in Brooklyn would love to meet local folks to ride with.
Where at? There are also trails in Kissena Park but that’s a bit farther
Keep em coming 👍
This is very helpful for my BDR prep. It would have been even more helpful if the main view had the camera facing forward so we could see the path better.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll make sure to swap the order or somehow incorporate more of the front facing view.
Nice taste in bikes you and your friends have !
Looks a bit lost on this big track.... Should be a blast on a tighter, more twisty and technical one
What exhaust? Termi? Or other?
Interesting job Two wheels arab , payed not much attention to music 😊. Do you know the RS has just been elected best bike of year 2024 in this week ?
I’m am going to ride section 8 in about a week. Should I take my Norden 901 or do you think I could do it on my svartpilen 401? Im would rather trailer the 401 because it’s so much lighter.
Section 8 is really mild but obviously the Norden 901 better handles off road. It’s all hard packed, with occasional sand pits and a forest road at the end. I personally wouldn't trust the clearance on the 401.
I dropped my bike in ice bed road too. I am planning to go back next month and do the section 4 and 5. After doing the expert roads I realized most of it was in my head not on the trail. Good luck brother
Yeah, have to commit and also be able to pick your bike up. 😂
How did you decide to carry all of your stuff on your back instead of on the bike?
That's just water, snacks, batteries and emergency repair tools. My main luggage was always in a hotel room along the main route somewhere.
What camera setup are you using? Nice to see a good preview of the route that's more riding perspective. I'm doing NEBDR in July and it's my first BDR. Trying to be as prepared as possible. This is helpful.
Enjoy it! Exciting. The main route is easy, expert tracks are mostly fun and manageable but better off with a group. I am using Insta360 Ace Pro and Insta360 x4.
@@gothamtrails Looking forward to it. Somewhat intimidated at the mileage. I've never run that many miles in a trip. I'll be in a group of 4 and the others have all done multiple BDR's.
@@UnicornMoto You’ll be fine then.
did you use your iphone for NAV?
For sections 1 and 2, yes. For sections 3 onwards I continued using Gaia GPS but also a Garmin Zumo XT, which I found to be more legible in bright light. I used Gaia mainly for exploration or if Garmin was confusing. Gaia is better than most GPS devices for navigation honestly.
I'm in Jersey and I ride an Aprilia Taureg, looking for some gentle gravel roads to play on.
Hey there, I think you mentioned this road on Instagram, is this by Croton on Hudson?
Old Albany Post Rd
@@gothamtrails Thanks man, hope to see you up there.
helou
sounds alright dont it 👍🏻👍🏻
On the bright side, it's not dusty!
Is it better then the gsa 1250?
Лучший Ducati! 👌🔥👍
На гоночном турэндуро хотелось бы заднюю вилку.
Why blur man? That's irritating.
cool
I am seriously considering this! Would be awesome on short circuit👍🏻
Looks like fun !!
Fun in the sun.
music ?????
Брат, я думаю это слишком опасно. Когда ты движешься в толпе нужно позаботиться не только о себе, но и об окружающих.
Sweet motorcycle ! Bear Mountain :) used to ride there a lot. Y enjoy be safe.
Sounds like garbage lol
Sounds better with the new exhaust. I'll put up some footage shortly.
Interesting choice of music habibi.
This guy is awesome!
Not bad at all👍🏻 Come here Moscow, Russia, we love to ride like that ✌🏻
Ducati l'excellence à l'italienne ❤
Appreciate you making a cool riding video of the RS instead of just walking around talking about it 🤘
That idle sound..🥰
Always nice to see a fellow New Yorker rip around NYC. Welcome to UA-cam dude.
Appreciate it!
👌
The best……
Very nice
mine is at the dealer, sub 100 number, but im wavering on trading my pikes peak with full titanium..... ugh what to do what to do..... how is it? worth it? is there anything down low at all, any grunt?
Yes, the gearing on 1st and 2nd keeps the grunt. It's worth it. That top end is satisfying.
It's not worth it if you have V4 PP. No. Compared to a full-featured V4 Pikes Peak, the RS price increase is absolutely not worth it. Where do you use the full potential of RS on the top end? On the racetrack and/or if you are Pecco Bagnaia :-). I have a V4 PP and it's a excellent&fantastic machine that (who knows) will get a lot more use out of it than the RS. Valve service on the PP is 60,000km, but the RS has desmo, so a much shorter interval and challenging service for an experienced mechanic. If I wanted something extra and/or different - compared to the PP, then I'd be more likely to go for the BMW M1000XR with M Competition add. And I say that as a Ducati fan.
agreed, also my PP has the full akra, heated grips im not doing it@@hewlett62
If you have a Pikes Peak it is most certainly NOT worth it if you actually ride your motorcycle. You lose the 32k mile valve service, you'll need to spend extra to get rid of the dry clutch, you have less torque up to 10k RPM, worse gas mileage, smaller tank than the rally. The $10k price increase just for a slight top end improvement is a joke when BMW is coming out with the M1000XR that will go 172mph, weigh less and cost $28k compared to $40k.
@Waldo1122 true.
How is the engine around town? Does it lug at low RPM or pull smooth like the engine in the regular Multi?
It doesn't lug. It is very high geared like the original Multistrada V4 on first gear, a bit too high geared in my opinion.
I have the 2023 pikes Peak. Not a whole lot different than the new RS. These bikes are amazing. It takes a little bit of time to break them in though. First and second gear were a little sloppy but after couple thousand miles it is baby smooth.
I traded in my 2022 PP for the RS. Here are my initial observations from my first ride on the RS. Keeping the revs mostly between 4500-7500, the quick shifter is noticeably smoother in this low-midrange rpm zone than the PP. I’m thinking it probably got the updated quickshifter electronics from the 2023 Streefighter, which is a good thing. Between the lower gearing and smaller pistons the RS feels very energetic, wants to rev quickly, and feels like it’s 25lbs lighter than the PP. Yes, I know it is lighter than the PP, but only a few pounds lighter. I think it’s because of the engine architecture and less rotating mass, gearing, dry clutch, etc,. Just my opinion though. The handlebars feel different, maybe narrower, lower, than the PP. Personally, I like them better than the handlebars on the PP. The suspension feels firmer in the different ride modes, but obviously isn’t broken in yet. I didn’t feel the loss of engine torque that the dyno shows that we know is there between the RS and PP. Ducati has done a great job with the gearing and mapping on the RS. The PP is powerful and fast, the RS is quicker and faster.
See after 10 years
Why those fkin people dont know the difference in m1000rr and s1000rr😂
