I drive semi and started put beads in trailer tires aswell, super smooth like butter
Common jeep
great stuff!! i'm trying to make an upside down version for a motorcycle gas tank, with the pressure regulator in tank too. this helped a lot to understand how it all gets put together. would you say those modular sending units are pretty sealed or more for upright use?
That looks like shit I did mine and turned out way better
Look at those pickled fingers!!! Yo Dog wear gloves, your organs are crying!!!
It's the torque converter. I had the same thing happen on our 2014 Dodge Charger R/T awd. Swapped the torque converter, local mechanic because stealership in 5 yrs couldn't figure out the problem just kept telling me they fixed this or that, and the shimmy went away. Now having issues with fluid. Thanks for the info.
An 8 and 3/4 is a breeze to set-up compared to the GM cheap-o Saginaw. For a Saggie, buy 10 or 15 "Crush sleeves" as you'll need 'em when you "lipstick" the pinion mesh. I STILL have a scar on my middle finger from about 1961 setting up my best friend's Saggie in his 1958 Chebby! We twisted my Dad's 1 1/8 inch 1/2" drive Craftsman socket about an eighth of a turn removing the Chebby pinion bolt with his break-over and two teens standing on a six-foot "cheater" pipe...
Hay just happened to check your channel to see if you had posted anything. Good to see ya back. I see you are looking like a new fellow .
where did you get the pins
I have a press, but on restore of 69 383 fish I used the heat/cool method the most! I went from 4.56 to 3.55 for street ability! FYI in the day in late 80's 4.56 with 28.5 tires got me 7.5 1/8 mile trips in full stock trim. 292/509 cam, TM6 Eddy, Holly 750DP, Protrac 275/60/15,
You're back!!! I miss you guys!!
Thanks for this process. Great way to keep these old parts in service and looking great.
Nice little machine. Those cutting goggles should be a shade 5.
🍟
Awesome video brother. Thanks for sharing. How are you guys? Tell AMBER I said hello. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible weekend. Much love and RESPECT
Problem!!
Challenge!!!
I'd like to see you block sand and clear over the raptor liner.
Not sure why you would want to clear over bedliner?
Hello from peguis, Manitoba, Canada. My dad an i built a similar truck. 1985 prospector 150 . Long box. 400 based big. Block mopar with indy heads an intake. 950 quick flow carb, roller valve train. 4500 stall. Dana 60, 456 gears. 29.5-10.50 slick caltracs. Best time in quarter mile is a tractionless 11.14 at 121 mph. Have video of pass you can tell me where to send it.
Sounds like a very cool truck.
I'm watching this 2 years later.. and as your pulling the filter I am here like... get a catch pan here comes a mess.. ;) I ended up replacing my pan with a Dorman one that had a drain plug in it. Once I pulled the filter and replaced the gasket and refilled it allows me to flush fluid without having to drop the pan. I ended up waiting 5k miles after my service and did it again, and then again in an attempt to get as much new fluid as I could into the system and remove old fluid in the process. Drain plug saved me a mess and time..
have a link for the spray gun your using?
I don't remember which spray gun I used, I think it is a 3M Accuspray. I don't have a link sorry.
Won't say anything wrong with using an impact on the ball joint clamp but running it in without any fresh grease I do
On a yj frame? My 85 cj7 doesn't look like that for a crossmember
Yes it has a YJ frame.
Was that Brad Bradley in the yellow Beep Beep beside you ?
What is the link to buy the shaft?
good job
My dad has the same truck but with a 500 strokér. Wish i could send you pics or videos
An old mariner's trick for anchor chains is to soak the chain in oil for a day before putting it in service. I've seen permanent mooring chains last for years when untreated chain rusted out in a year in ocean water.
What is symbol under drive light on dash?
Black oxide is not very corrosion resistant
Nice color!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 What is the color code!!!?
For god's sake, get some proper insulators for those wires. Any chaffing and it will short directly in that gas tank, especially bumpy off-roading. BOOM, Fiery inferno, etc.... depending on fuel level and material of the tank.
My stock 86 and another stock 92 clears 34” very well wonder why it took all that to clear 33” on yours. And yes my front springs look just as bad as yours did. I am gonna add some leafs though because I want to clear some 35” I have on another set of wheels. Nice job
Wheel offset and width, and tire width can change the tire clearance when turning a lot, that is probably the difference. Thank you.
my 91 has inlet and outlet on passenger side radiator is junk i need a new one and cannot find a replacement anywhere!!
Check out Spectra Premium part #CU1079, it has a different mounting style than my radiator, but looks to have the inlet and outlet on the passenger side. Hope that helps.
Do the 360. You will not regret it. Nix the air. 😊 Good luck with thus great project.
Lol, there was a time when the air would be the first thing gone. Thank you.
The hydroboost off a 2006 cummins is a better fit then the 98
Good tip, thanks for the comment.
You need to learn how to use a tire machine..
Nice build. A great idea! Congrats
Thanks!
You are back 😎
🍟
Kinda excited about this project, it is going to be a slower process, but hopefully I won't lose interest that way.
Good to see you Travis. Tell Amber i said hello. Miss you guys. Thanks for sharing. Awesome video. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible day. Much love and RESPECT brother
Thanks, Amber said hello as well.
I have a plastic welding the fuel tank video on my channel, from 2 years ago. It’s titled save money and increase fuel mileage 😂
🍟
I'll have to check that out when I get around to fixing that fuel tank someday, LOL.
Problem!! Awesome!!
Challenge!!!
Okay?
Yes we have been busy with life and not really working on any projects.
@@PerpetualProjects thats great and all. But you took the time to reply so it must not be that busy. I just dont see the point of this video.
Main question. Would you recommend this kit for my srt? Not a race car no track. Daily driver
I don't see why not, it is still being driven 80 miles a day and hasn't had any problems yet.
Black oxide will rust in a week outside, waste of time.
A massive help. Thanks from a Dodge Hemi owner in the UK
There were some tight spots in the rotation of the assembly when you were checking the pinion depth and on the final drive torque check. At what point is that a problem? With the pinion/ring machined perfectly, the ring installed perfectly, etc. etc. I would think that would NOT happen. It's also not going to BE 'perfect'. But when is it a problem? When is a spotty (related to rotation of either the pinion or ring) resistance something to worry about? Also, checking the pinion depth with old bearings and new races has got to be a 'let's see' situation. Has that ever bit you? Use the old hollowed out bearings on new races, it checks OK. Put it together with the new bearings...it's all gone south?
I don't recall any tight spots, but there is spec for the backlash variance. Just check the backlash in several place around the ring gear.
if it works it works.
I like this idea for bolts you are going to see and want to be black. But for other ones, I just put on nitrile gloves and spread zinc anti-seize all over them. there is no pre-treatment needed, can be done with new or rust or dirty bolts and it hardly takes any time. I bet it is more rust preventative than the black oxide. t
I wonder if this would work if I just put the in my ultrasonic cleaner or in an acid solution. I don't have a sand blaster and it sounds time consuming anyway.
Miss the trucks with the wing windows
do a rust inhibition test to compare coated uncoated
