Hooke Road Fender Flares Install & Review – Watch THIS Before You Buy! Black Friday Cyber Monday
In this video, I’m unboxing, installing, and reviewing a full set of tube fender flares from Hooke Road for my 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
While my Jeep is mostly a mall crawler with a few off-road upgrades, I’ve been wanting to add a little more rugged style and functionality. If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your Jeep with these fender flares, or if you’re just curious about what’s involved, this video is for you!
I’m not a mechanic by any means, so I’ll take you through the process step by step, showing you the challenges, the tools, and the moments where I definitely learned some lessons the hard way. If you’ve ever wondered if you could handle a mod like this yourself, this video gives you a real look at what you can expect-mistakes and all!
Wondering how to get that hand rivet nut tool to work without losing your mind? I’ve got you covered! If you’re also curious if Hooke Road’s prices are too good to be true, I’ll give you my honest take on the quality and value. And, of course, if you just want to watch someone fumble through a DIY project, you're in the right place too!
Check out the video to see what went right, what went wrong, and everything in between!
Here is a link to the exact fender flares I installed:

    Im trying to figure out my system. Im building a sleeper 1980 mercury grand marquis 2 door and decided to try efi. I have pieces together everything from ebay and now trying to figure out my tank. My tank the sending unit is on the side and its really making things challenging for the pick up. Wanted to just get the aftermarket pump/sending unit with returns built in but nobody sells a unit that goes in and bends 70/45 degrees. I have to make returns and everything from scratch.

    You clean all the bolts of oil and you touch them with oily hands. Don't say my hands aren't oily. The skin always produces oil. If it weren't oily, the murderers would wash their hands first and never leave fingerprints.

    Thanks to your video I was able to tackle my 2007 Charger front rebuild, You made it look easy. My biggest problem was removing the knuckle ball joint. I used the C-clamp tool you used, which I borrowed from popular parts store, but I just could not get it out. I took it to my mechanic and he hammered the hell out of it until it came out. One thing I had to do was to reduced the diameter of the new ball joint by .5mm in order to press it back in.

    Nice one friend. I really ought to search for the MSDS sheet for the blue liquid to find out what the active ingredient is and see if I can replicate it. In the meantime I have a cheaper method that I've been using for about 5 years now. As one example, I've brought rusty horse hoof rasps back to the appearance of new and still very sharp. Just with citric acid and water. Degrease first. Then soak for a day, clean off the rust with a brush. Then back into the citric acid for a couple more days where it goes black. The treatment forms an Iron Citrate coating that does not readily oxidise for years. Rinse off and oil. Its like voodoo.

    • @waynoswaynos
      @waynoswaynos Місяць тому

      I had a quick look at the MSDS for the blue product and it contains: Water 65-70%, Selenious acid 10-15%, Phosphoric acid 4-8%, Nitric acid 3-6%, Sulfuric acid, copper(2+) salt (1:1) 3-6% So the copper sulphate puts a copper coating on the iron turning it into iron sulphate that stays in solution, which means that the jar of blackness would get spent after a time.. I don't understand what role the Selenium plays in this but I did learn from wikipedia that: "…selenium salts are toxic in even small doses, causing selenosis.[9] Symptoms include (in decreasing order of frequency): diarrhea, fatigue, hair loss, joint pain, nail brittleness or discoloration, nausea, headache, tingling, vomiting, and fever." Our friend here is good to be using the magnet to fish out his parts.

Swapped the torque converter, local mechanic because stealership in 5 yrs couldn't figure out the problem just kept telling me they fixed this or that, and the shimmy went away. Now having issues with fluid. Thanks for the info.

    An 8 and 3/4 is a breeze to set-up compared to the GM cheap-o Saginaw. For a Saggie, buy 10 or 15 "Crush sleeves" as you'll need 'em when you "lipstick" the pinion mesh. I STILL have a scar on my middle finger from about 1961 setting up my best friend's Saggie in his 1958 Chebby! We twisted my Dad's 1 1/8 inch 1/2" drive Craftsman socket about an eighth of a turn removing the Chebby pinion bolt with his break-over and two teens standing on a six-foot "cheater" pipe...

    I'm watching this 2 years later.. and as your pulling the filter I am here like... get a catch pan here comes a mess.. ;) I ended up replacing my pan with a Dorman one that had a drain plug in it. Once I pulled the filter and replaced the gasket and refilled it allows me to flush fluid without having to drop the pan. I ended up waiting 5k miles after my service and did it again, and then again in an attempt to get as much new fluid as I could into the system and remove old fluid in the process. Drain plug saved me a mess and time..
