The Three Types of Bethesda Fans Explained
I had a ton of fun making this video, easily the most time I've ever spent editing a Bethesda video. In this video I compare fans of the big Bethesda games like Skyrim, Starfield, Fallout, and others. Obviously it's not a *serious* explanation of the fan base, just a lil video I thought would be funny :)
Please let me know what you think in the comments! I'd like to know what fan category you resonate with the most. Please subscribe, share, comment, and like. It helps a lot! I'll see you again in the next video, cya!

Starfield Updates Are Lazy
Переглядів 13 тис.15 годин тому
I understand that these are free creation updates, but they're also updates made by Bethesda and in my opinion they flat out suck. I have yet to see a Starfield update or DLC that actually looks like I'd want to give it a shot, and I feel like a large portion of Bethesda fans feel the same. Hopefully you'll enjoy yet another Starfield rant... hopefully it's the last one for a while. Please Subs...

Sorry for the inconsistent uploads recently. I will admit this isn't my best video ever... I really liked the message I put together though so I hope you watch all the way through and tell me your thoughts! New video is already in production and it's way better :) Thanks a bunch and please subscribe if you enjoyed! Thanks
Starfield Is STARVED Of Content
Переглядів 32 тис.21 день тому
THIS VIDEO IS MY OPINION I talk about how Hello Games is able to push out No Man's Sky updates sometimes 3 or 4 times a year, each with exciting and new content that can be explored for hours and hours. Starfield lacks these updates, even with more funding and more developers, somehow Bethesda doesn't seem to be able to keep up with smaller studios, Hello Games being an example. I hope you like...
Todd Howard: A Retrospective

No idea why I made this. Just had some thoughts about our lord Todd Howard and why he always seems to get us hyped even if we're tired of being let down. This isn't like my usual videos, so let me know what you think :) Thanks!
My Wishlist For The Elder Scrolls VI
Переглядів 3,4 тис.Місяць тому
This may trigger a few of you, but just hear me out. Considering The Elder Scrolls 6 is currently in full development, I thought it would be a good time to get a few of the ideas I've had onto youtube about what it may look like. Of course this isn't all of my thoughts on the next Elder Scrolls Game, but I hope to make more videos about this topic the more I think about it. If you enjoyed pleas...
REACTING To What Bethesda Games YOU Would Want To Relive
Переглядів 1,9 тис.Місяць тому
This video is a bit different than what I usually upload... It's still Bethesda related though so don't freak out. I react and comment on what Bethesda games you guys would want to play again for the first time. Games like Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, and Fallout 4.. as well as some unexpected comments I recieved. If you like this video please make sure to subscribe for more. I've got other con...
Bethesda’s Nostalgia Factor: What Happened?
Переглядів 8 тис.Місяць тому
I feel that most of the older games felt nostalgic, but even more than that, they always feel fresh. Everytime I launch Oblifvion or Fallout 3 I get a sense of warmth, why is that? I talk also about how Starfield didn’t really make me feel this way. I hope that the Elder Scrolls 6 kind of revives this nostalgic feeling the older games gave me. This isn’t meant to be another “Starfield hate” vid...
Does Bethesda Need A Different Game Engine?
Переглядів 23 тис.Місяць тому
Bethesda has been using the Creation engine since Skyrim released in 2011. Recently I've began to wonder if it's still a good engine for them to be using considering the negative feedback that Starfield received. I know that it's not entirely the fault of Creation Engine for what Starfield was lacking, there's many other problems with the game in my opinion than just the engine. In this video t...
Dear Bethesda
Переглядів 29 тис.Місяць тому
THIS VIDEO IS MY OPINION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never made a video like this, but I promise I usually don't get this heated. It really sucks to see Bethesda go the opposite way of improvement. I really had high hopes that they might turn a new leaf with Shattered Space (like how Phantom Liberty did for Cyberpunk). I hope that I can get AT LEAST a fraction of my hope back for their future releas...
What I've noticed is gamers who started with Morrowind/ Skyrim/fallout are extremely attached to their games, like a friend they grew up with. I don't think Starfield fans give a damn about Bethesda other than giving us a decent Sci-fi universe to play in. Vanilla version fails at this but man thank the gaming gods for mods!
Though I've played many of their games I don't consider myself any of these really! Was around for Morrowind and that group of games but they just didn't appeal to me. Tried skyrim/fallout and found them utterly mediocre without mods/dlc. I figured if mods can keep games like Skyrim/Fallout entertaining after all these years starfield would become just as enjoyable and wasn't wrong! Anyone who is playing with mods will concur!
I’m a Gen S player lol. I’ll preface this by saying I grew up playing COD and Star Wars games during their respective golden eras and totally avoided swordplay/fantasy and post-apocalyptic games. So, I was always jealous of the Skyrim hype/culture but just couldn’t vibe with those earlier BGS games. Starfield comes along and I thought it was going to be the perfect game. Admittedly, it was far from that. But what Starfield did do right still overshadowed its shortcomings for me on the pretense that I still expect this game to update and get close to what we thought it was going to be. In any case, what really works for me is the ship building and ship combat, as well as the nasapunk aesthetic and being able to roleplay in this large sandbox. Visually, it’s almost perfect for me. I don’t find the story lackluster at all..however I find the quest mechanic to be extremely subpar. Redundant POIs are being fixed with mods (I expected that), and as long as the gameplay mechanics continue to get fleshed out via BGS and mods, this game will still be played by me. It’s far from a masterpiece but, it really does appeal to me.
I also think the “nasa-punk” vibe fits really well. And yeah I LOVE the ship building in the game.
Theres a rare bethesda fan thats rare to find its the one who enjoys the game they play and dont attack other people who dont play the game they like
For sure dude. Yeah I think it’s important to not hate on the people who play games you don’t like. I think it’s fine to hate on a game, but it’s weird to judge the people who enjoy them. Let people be happy man hahaha
On Starfield theres no reason for me to play. After quests are beaten theres no reason for me to build a bigger or better ship, no reason to upgrade my suits, no reason to upgrade my weapons, theres no survival mechanics so theres no engagement with the world, the procedural generation sucks, flying mechanics suck, no in atmosphere flighting, no intersystem travel without loading screens, loading screens suck, the technology upgrading doesn't give you anything useful, base building is bland and soulless and not useful at all, the vehicles are useless, and the game looks like it came out in 2014. Now with No Man's Sky take all this and flip it to the opposite. In No Man's Sky im always doing something that will either keep me alive and moving or something that'll push me forward or seeing something that'll blow my mind. With the NMS graphics update it looks modern and runs great even on the switch. Starfield runs horribly and looks like shit
You know this guy started on fallout new vegas on the way he chose to talk good about skyrim 😂
Well I am over Fifty and still prefer New Vegas the story is king for what it worth and probably Skyrim then Fallout 4
You’re THE OG
I treat Starfield fans like kids, they don't know better and I'll take care of them, because one day they'll grow and realize how dumb they were 😊
Arena player here. Though I don't play often these days, because there isn't a solid engine remake for it. But I bought Arena when it was new on the shelf and I was a young man who was just entering the work force. I loved this video, the categories were not what I expected. My favorites are Daggerfall as my #1 and Morrowind as my #2 so I identify as the boomer category. But I play Skyrim a lot because it's so easy to just start up when bored. And my favorite game in the Fallout side is Fallout 4, I know, I'm a heretic. I played all of them and love them all but on the Fallout front, I'm more greatest generation. I'm only generation S if S is sympathy. I don't like Starfield but I'm sympathetic to them. Keep up the great vids!
There’s a remake?!?
No I meant that Arena is the only old elder scrolls that doesn't have a 3rd party engine remake, for the older games. So I don't play it much anymore. But daggerfall had an engine remake, or 3rd party engine called Daggerfall Unity. And Morrowind has a 3rd party engine remake or engine design, called Open Morrowind. So Daggerfall Unity and Open Morrowind male it easy to play those games in 2024. But there is no easy way to play Arena like that. Sorry for any confusion.
Grew up on Skyrim (and a little bit of fallout 4), and then I played Fallout NV. Never been the same. Also I play madden (the old ones though).
Did you pick up the new college football game?
Daggerfall player here....well put. I remember when ToS used background questions that you could cheese for extra ebony daggers. I remember using dice rolls in the game to determine stats. I also remember being confused when the background questions didn't give you free stuff like it did in Daggerfall when I finally tried Morrowind.
Im a Morrowboomer but also loves Starfield.
Good!!
Fallout New Vegas: *cries in brain damage* am i a joke to you?😰
The "Boomers" are around 41?????? Boomers were born between 1945-1964. The youngest of us are 60 years old.
Liked the video and enjoyed a lot of the comments. Doesn't matter what other people think, do you enjoy playing the game? I play all of these weekly. They are a decent escape.
I played oblivion as a kid and my grandfather was playing it as well. My grandmother always questions how a little girl and an old man liked playing this game. Im 22 and still liked playing oblivion every now an then
That’s super wholesome actually
I AM ALL THE FANS! I started with Morrowind, Skyrim is my favorite, and I like Starfield.
Keep rockin’
it's not just boring content that they're giving us for expansions it's cut boring content that we're getting for expansions and how there are still this many bugs this long into the engine development cycle is insane
i find it so funny when ppl say that all of starfield's modders left the game and have not been modding the game, when you can see from day one to now that the game is getting tons of mod support on the nexus, btw it was only one mod author who stopped modding starfield, but for whatever reason ppl pretend it was all modders, the evidence since day one of starfield modding that it's been active the entire time and is still active.
Error 404: "Starfield Fan" Not Found
I put 90 hours into this game. It deserves every bit of slander
Oh boy I'm a Boomer who started with Daggerfall, but only in passing, I didn't get serious about Elder Scrolls until Morrowind and have played every mainline Bethesda game since. I even play Starfield. However, I refuse to play without Mods at this point and my most anticipated projects are Skywind and Skyblivion.
Dude I’m so excited for both of those remakes
Yeah after over 100 hours of starfield, updated maps and a rover is not enough to get me back into that game.
don't get me wrong i did play other games, but no other game gripped me like skyrim and FO4 has, i have games i payed for on steam i have not played, i recently decided to not purchase anymore games, because i realized that the only games i ever play are these games, so why waste anymore money? however i do still enjoy assassins creed the older ones more than the new ones. i played witcher 3 and i loved the game but again, it wasn't as addicting as skyrim, if they made the witcher more like skyrim in the way that you play in that world and can choose your class of whatever you want to be in that game and then just play that game's story from that perspective i would love it as much as i like skyrim, but the witcher is a story about a single person who you play as. it's got a great story and great gameplay and graphics but it's not as open ended as skyrim and fallout games are, in both skyrim and fallout the quest design is more freedom oriented, meaning you have more agency in how you want to play as both games serve as great sandboxes, skyrim and fo4 may not have the best graphics or even move sets, but where it shines is the freedom aspect, you aren't stuck just playing one character, you can become an evil vampire dude if you want, and with modding that unlocks more options than the game offered. witcher as i said it's a great game, it's just not filled with freedom as skyrim is, and so that's why i always go back to bethesda games.
Omg I'm a boomer 😂 and I'm 20 lmao yes I played oblivion as a kid with my dad I grew up with Bethesda games ❤❤❤ all thanks to my dad
Hell yeah
I started on arena and daggerfall and im 35 😂
i'm a millennial, and i tried to play the older games, i didn't like them, first it was Morrowind then it was Oblivion, and there were some things about Oblivion i liked, but it's still not the best, then skyrim and i loved skyrim, according to steam i have over 10,000 hours played in that game. eventually i moved on. jumping into fallout, i have zero interest in the 2d side scroller games, i did play FO3 but it was ok but nothing i really loved, i couldn't get into new Vegas, now i will admit i didn't know this wasn't made by bethesda at the time and i probably should have given it more love, but i stayed away from it at the time because it looked and played too much like FO3, so i just skipped fallout, it wasn't really the game for me at that time, then FO4 came out and at first i didn't like it, but i decided to give it another try, and eventually i learned to love it, but like every other bethesda game it came with it's fare share of issues, modding on PC was difficult at first, however there are some mod installs i still have issues with installing and some are just completely out of my skill set and league completely so i stick to what i know. these days i love skyrim and FO4, i won't touch FO76 nor will i touch ESO, i have something against online games in general, and starfield is not even a finished game, it's essentially early access and will remain that way until they fix the ever living hell out of the game first before fans such as me will even want to play it.
So they give you people exactly what you wanted, yet you still continuously whine, I jdgi.
Yea , so i'm a boomer , started with Morrowind and have played all the Bethesda games . But i have to say i'm fan of the games , i really don't care about Bethesda , the first time i heard of Todd was when the Fallout 76 shitstorm emerged. (which is the only game i've not played). So at the moment i play Starfield which is ok but far away from beeing great, also Skyrim and Fallout 4 conversions (Enderal , London)
Having an absolute blast with it, the mods are great
It’s funny because I started playing Bethesda games from the “greatest generation” era and have played countless hours of both fallout and Skyrim, i seriously love them to death. Although I’ve recently found myself having Starfield as my main, you’re probably thinking tf? But idk I’ve always found something so fascinating about traversing a galaxy, I still think Starfield has many flaws and could improve on many aspects but I’d be lying if I said It didn’t feel badass looking at a planet through the window of your bedroom in your spaceship, and then land on it and fight a bunch of spacers. It’s also a rush knowing you can land on any planet and have the whole thing be your own settlement.
I’m a Skyrim first player, followed by Oblivion, then ESO. I tried Morrowind three times, gave up after being pwned by cliff racers etc., and the RNG combat was disturbing. I recently tried Fallout 3 and I enjoyed the opening, but the idea of there being nothing but an apocalyptic wasteland didn’t resonate with me. So I still play Skyrim, Oblivion and ESO.
How’s ESO these days?
No Mans Sky is the reason I stopped pre ordering games. Then it turns out to be one of if not the best redemption story in the entire games industry. Next to Larion , Hello Games is the best studio currently active.
Stanfield is mid, accept it.
I’ve accepted it
I uninstalled SF after 80 hours and didn't even bother when Sharted Space came out. Unless you are fixing the broken exploration, broken POI's, broken bases, ill just chill over here with good games like Cyberpunk, No Mans Sky, or even ANY of the old Fallouts. Bethesda is dead, just wait until Indy foes tits up. Elder Scrolls is already DOA.
Not a SINGLE word said about you know... that game... FO76 And I respect that.
Much respect 🤝
I'll never understand the hate for Starfield. Like, some complaints are true: there are a lot of loading screens, and the planet exploration is not good. What I don't understand is why it matters so much, I guess? I'm having fun just going around, interacting with the characters and the mechanics, and modding the Hell out of it. It feels like the same Bethesda magic that was in Oblivion, Skyrim, and Fallout 3 and 4. I genuinely can't tell how someone could enjoy these games, but not Starfield
I guess some people are just passionate about how they’d like a Bethesda game to feel. Myself included. I don’t like the procedural aspect of the game, it feels too big for anything high quality.
Michael Jackson jumpscare
Heehee
At this point, if BGS put me in charge of the narrative decisions for starfield I would make it significantly better, and I'm an idiot 😆
Fans taste are evolving .....backward.🤣
I got starfield for 20bucks and i can say, it was def not worth any more than that. Felt like the game was never finished and was sent out the door. So much more could have been done but was left untouched. Shattered space shattered any hope of clean up the game had
Hate gets clicks. Its very unimaginative and mean spirited. If you dont like it dont play it! I feel bad for all the fans that have to see all this crap all over UA-cam
Any of you like Star Trek Conquest? It was on Wii and PS2 and I really loved it. (It was my first bethesda game ....as far as I know)
Never heard of it but I’ll check it out for sure
My second game was morrowind (after gothic). For me, yes, it is pretty sad what starfield could be, especially when all the elements are there, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying 170 hours of enjoying it and still counting with my limited free time as a 38 years old man. I mean come on you are a space pirate. No other single player game lets you do that
I am a cbbe fans
I can’t believe Bethesda has 600 employees and somehow can’t work on Elder Scrolls, Fallout and Starfield at the same time.
I’ve enjoyed Starfield since release, but I won’t lie, Shattered Space took a lot of the wind out of my sails for this game. That DLC really sapped my enthusiasm and I am wondering when Starfield will get its very own Shivering Isles or Dragonborn.
I’m actually not a Bethesda fan. Far from it. I actually hate them as a company because of stupid decisions and questionable writing. Personally I enjoy Fallout 4 and Skyrim but I mod the living hell out of them to fix their missteps. Most of which have to do with weapons and armor. Like why does Skyrim have a very specific design for sword and daggers that everyone has to adhere to? Is there not other ways to make different designs of weapons while still using the same metallic material? Probably the most unforgivable however is the weapon switch up in Fallout 4. Why on God’s glorious green earth did Bethesda choose to ignore the canonized modern-inspired weapons in 3 and New Vegas? Like who’s idea was it to design an “assault rifle” that takes inspiration from a Lewis and Vickers machine guns when reusing assets from Fallout: New Vegas for a Marksman Carbine or Assault Carbine would be FAR EASIER? If there’s one good thing Fallout 4 and Skyrim are good for at this point, it’s the mods. The modding communities of both games are literally the only ones keeping both games alive because I truly believe both games had the great potential to succeed their predecessors. But no, they had to go with nonsensical weapon designs and oversimplified writing for no justifiable reason. Firing Todd Howard and Emil Pagliarulo can’t happen soon enough. The two fecal stains of Bethesda.
Started with Morrowind, then, years later, Skyrim, then Oblivion, then Fallout 4, Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3, Fallout NV, Fallout 76 & finally Starfield. And since I really fir none of the three, mebbe I'm gen Chimera--a mixture of everything, but at the very least Boomer up to my butt....
i feel like skyrim was such a hit because it was the last one before bethesda became a "household name". up until skyrim bethesda hadnt really been considered a AAA dev despite their popularity. and with the sudden influx of money and attention they just cashed out and have been trying less and less to make games and are just keeping their obligation to the shareholders by doing the bare minimum.
