End of summer garden tour
Переглядів 23Місяць тому
I harvested my jalapeños and a bunch of tomatoes that feel endless. We grew a ton this year and focused more on a few crops instead of a huge variety. Also these will ripen fast in a cardboard box for fresh ripe tomatoes too. Come check out my full end of summer garden tour. #garden #tomatoes

DIY face astringent using calendula infused alcohol.

Recipe down below ⬇️ Fill bottle almost all the way with filtered water, add 1 tablespoon of vodka, 1/2 tsp of oil. Special notes-I used calendula infused vodka for this recipe. I also used olive oil that was calendula infused but even plain olive oil would work great. Shake well and use once daily. Benefits-tightens and tones skin pores, cleanser for old makeup and oily skin. Can be used as an...

What temperature and for how many hours. Please give us the information 😂😂😂
@@MackenzieLombard probably overnight and my dehydrator doesn’t have temp control.
Wal-Mart has had them in stock before, usually in a glass jar.
@@davidweikle9921 oh nice!!!
I love your garden! How wonderful to have fruit trees. I've been letting our tomatoes ripen indoors too. We could have a hard freeze any day. I'm like you and tempted to harvest everything just in case. Have a wonderful weekend stay safe and well 🙏❤️
@@MartinMidlifeMisadventures thank you so much. I definitely think adding the chicken poop we composted made a huge difference in our production this year. You guys have a great weekend too.💖
looks amazing my friend
@@citygirlhomestead thank you so much, I can’t wait to can up more salsa.
looks like you had an amazing garden this year
@@korissiasymonds thanks so much. We worked hard on it this year for sure 😊

What size lids ?
I just added the Amazon link.
I can’t get them to stay crunchy after water bath canning, they’re mushy
Mine didn’t stay crunchy either so now I make quick pickles or refrigerator pickles. I have seen people suggested buying pickle crisp or adding bay leaves.
Soak them in a lime/water mix for 24 hours as part of the process. Just do a search and they will come out nice and crisp!
Lady, you’re clueless. It’s hard to believe that mature adults think this way… All this does is make salty, alkaline softened water. It has zero surfactants so can not dissolve grease and oil. It’s a waste of time and money. Avoid.
No sugar?
@@lydiawall4018 recipe in description I added the salt and sugar off camera. Sorry about that.
Can you use this recipe to pickle green beans too?
@@Le_Bold_Thinker I would! You can usually use a basic brine recipe for all veggies and adjust the seasonings as needed. Let me know if you try it, how it turns out.
We buy this in Spain it’s a little expensive. Now I’m going to make my own. Thank you. From Wales, uk. And Alicante in Spain .
Yes you should make them. I’m adding the leftovers to a sandwich today.
that is a great haul
@@citygirlhomestead thank you ☺️
bet that is really good
I can’t wait to bring it to work tomorrow and share with coworkers with tacos. 😊
you know I never thought about doing that thank you for the idea
I like that, I'm gonna have to try it. We usually grow alot of green onions too. I never thought of making onion powder with them. Thanks for the idea.
No problem. We love buying spices but man they are getting super expensive so trying to make our own eventually.
What a great idea. Thank you
You are so welcome!
So this is the first year I've ever grown onions and I have tons as you do! I thought I had to wait until the leaves dry out before I can harvest the onion. I do pick a few now and then for tacos but I'm afraid to cut too many as I don't want the onion to stop growing. When can I harvest these leaves like you did? Did you only harvest a portion of the leaves?
We harvested some of the tops because they were toppling over everywhere. Then we harvested when we could see almost half the actual onion popping out of the soil. We could tell some where bigger than others.
Thank you!
I do the same thing!!
This is my first time. 😊
What an amazing onion harvest!!! I haven't had great luck with onions, but I will keep trying. Love all your garden updates...may you continue to harvest an abundance👍❤🙌
This is my first big harvest of onions. I’ve grown them good before but I dedicated this garden bed. Also we added our homemade chicken poop compost from our first year having chickens and I swear it’s my best garden yet.
that looks great my onions didn't come up
Oh I’m sorry to hear that. This is my best onion harvest yet.
I really love having homemade green onion powder to cook with. , Thanks for sharing this 😊
This will be my first year making onion powder and I’m excited to try it.

I LOVE this thanks for showing me Calendula
Of course! I swear it’s a miracle healing. I started getting really bad hives or some rash and the calendula takes the itch and burning immediately away. Now I have to find out what is causing it.
I'm so glad I found your video again. I infused my oils months ago and then forgot to save your video. 🙄
I hope you make your salve soon and it turns out amazing! I’m living off mine lately.
