Great video! I have not opened my Zo box because I wasn’t sure I was going to keep it but now I think I will.
How can I get information on how to make the mills mix. I am on rock after about 3 inches down and just no luck growing anything. Looking into raised bed gardening. Can you tell me how to make the mix ..

Steve and Leslie: Totally amazing!!
Thanks for posting Denise! We are blessed!
I enjoyed watching your garden tour. I got so many tips from this video. I’m going to be looking for some screens to cover my cinder blocks raised beds….Awesome idea.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for posting!
Wow! I am shocked at the size of your sweet potatoes! Fantastic! harvest! I have never seen sweet potatoes this size! congratulations! I started my slips late, and I'm using bags so I will have to see what happens for my harvest here in zone 9a Pacific Northwest. Thanks for sharing and God bless!
I used to live in the Pacific Northwest. I wonder if it gets hot enough to produce large potatoes. Whatever you get, count your blessings!
I learned a lot!! We Thank u very much! Great video and so informative!
Thank you for commenting I love getting comments from my viewers. I hope you have a successful harvest! Blessings.
What model is this? I think we have the same. Got mine recently at Goodwill for $80, very expensive! Love this video, I want to use the homemade function and shape my dough, put it back in the machine like you did. I’ll have to try.
It's an old model! Likely from 20 years ago! A friend gave it to me and then we found another at a thrift shop for $5. I love this machine! Thank you for watching. I hope you have great success in making healthy, homemade bread. God bless!
I was wondering if you could take out the paddles and bake and lo and behold you show the exact same, thank you 👍
Thank you Leslie! Such good advice, thank you!
You're welcome! Thank you for watching and responding!
That looks tasty. Thanks for sharing
Excellent!!!!
First time viewer… dang! What do you fertilize with? Just compost?
1/3 of my growing mix is a mixture of different kinds of compost and then I add Revita Pro (a complete organic fertilizer of composted chicken manure, feather meal, humates, etc.)
👍
First time seeing your videos. Your harvest was insanely great. Please share your soil type and fertilizer mix.
Thank you foot watching! Its in here. ua-cam.com/video/X07rq2vl_TU/v-deo.htmlsi=TIPzSxBg_ftMg0wb
I'm quite grateful for your response. I will continue following your great videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Really weird shapes!!!!!!
Just found your channel, love!
I noticed your greens were not died back , does that matter ?
No it doesn't matter. We were at about 85 days with those potatoes and I was just ready for them and it looked like they were ready for me! They are so delicious!
Wow !! Biggest harvest I’ve ever seen !
We were blessed!
Growin Taters in T-County!!!!!
Great job Leslie! How will you store them?
I will store them in my pantry which is relatively cool and open brown paper bags. I'll probably bring a bunch to church potluck so the 25 lb won't last all that long. They are very delicious!
Great harvest !
Thank you for watching!
What is ur soil mix for taters pls ttu
I need help, first I want to say I love your energy and encouragement. I have started a tiny garden on my porch in 4 gallon buckets. I am nervous that im doing it wrong. and i need to harvest soil from the woods I do not know where to look to find it, i have lots of woods around me and am concerned that the soil will be wrong. I do not know how to train my climber plants either. my plants seem to be growing slow to and the raisedbed soil i bought doesnt seem to be retaining water, i am just nervous because i have never done this before. It is wonderful to see the seeds have sprouted but i want to know what to do to take care of them. HELP
I'm not sure how large your garden is, but I would suggest that you start small so you don't have to be so nervous. Maybe just 2 by 6 ft or something like that. Harvesting forest floor is best done when there's not a lot of undergrowth in the forest. Specifically in the cold months. I would suggest just putting in a good growing mix that you purchase . Put in a small trellis of PVC with some plastic netting. Use a couple pieces of rebar and put the rebar in the ground and Slide the PVC over the rebar I would get two 2 -3 ft pieces of rebar and 1 1/2 inch PVC. Buy some elbows to put on top of the PVC to make an upside down U. Then just slide the PVC over the rebar that has been pounded into the ground. Hang some mesh from the top of the U and that'll be your trellis. When the plants grow you can either weave them in and out of the mesh if the holes are large enough, or tie them to the mesh with good twine or tomato clips . You could watch some UA-cam on how to make a simple trellis for other ideas I hope this works for you. Again start small to relieve the stress. Add the best compost that you can find to your mix. That means getting it from a nursery rather than a big box store. God bless you as you move forward. Another idea is to attach the mesh netting to the PVC frame with zip ties. Just make sure they're heavy duty zip ties .
Can you use compost from the landfill? They have a section where they put all the green waste and later sell the compost. Will that work?
If it's clean it should be okay. If there's lawn chemicals it might get broken down but I'm not sure. If you use this, still use 3 other types as well to get a variety of nutrients for your plants.
Thank you for sharing this! Very helpful.
A piece of plastic sheet for cover will keep the soil from drying out.
This is the craziest sweet potato harvesting I have ever seen on youtube so far.
Wow! Amazing harvest.😮
Good methods and God's blessing!
Awesome
I planted a bunch in peat moss this year. What are your thoughts?
I have never tried that before. I find that peat moss can get pretty dry and hard so you'll need to be very careful to keep it moist. Also you need something to fertilize the plants so I would add some compost for sure or a complete organic fertilizer.
I thought I was the only one who micro-managed my bread machine...well done! You helped me to keep adding more flour to the recipe I used, and it turned out great!
THE EXPERIEMENT WORKED!! It had been raining so the beds were nice and moist and the weather was warm. I'm excited!
Leslie, I started gardening in 2020. I didn't know what I was doing, and I needed help. I couldn't even keep a plant alive, always referred to myself as having a black thumb. I came across your square foot gardening class, I watched it, took notes and off to garden I went 😂 In the Spring of 2020 I started with two 12' x 2' raised beds (24 sq ft) I didn't have huge success, but I grow my own food! We've slowly added more beds, now over 350 sq ft, plus a bunch of grow bags, and some trees! In the past 4 years I have grown over 1,000 pounds of organic food! To some that may not be much, but to me that is huge. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and passion for gardening.
What a wonderful message for me to receive! Thank you so much! May I use this, without your name, as a testimony for our gardening consulting business? What an encouragement you have been to me! Blessings and happy growing!
@@LeslieCaza You’re welcome. Absolutely, I think they will be lucky to have you. 😊Thank you.
If they take, that will be a nice little shortcut. Not having to soak them for a while, will definitely save some time. Thanks for sharing.
It's been about 5 days and ours are thriving!
@@LeslieCaza That is good to know, thanks for the update.
"You were created to live in the garden"-- I love it!!! Praise God!
Hi Leslie, we are just starting to garden, so thank you for your advice! God bless you and your family, bless and protect!
Enjoy the journey, learn from others, learn from your mistakes and successes, and pray over your garden! Thank you for watching and commenting! I love people like you!
I have that exact same machine. But mine browns the left side more than the right side, I wonder why.
I have to greatly reduce any sweeteners in my bread or the crust gets too dark. Just 1 tablespoon.
@@LeslieCaza But both sides brown evenly?
Yes. I think your machine has a problem. 😢
@@LeslieCaza Yeah, I found this old zojirushi at good will for $8. I eventually got another zojirushi, the older model of the virtuoso, used. But I didn’t want to get rid of my old white zorirushi, I wonder if it could get fixed somehow.
What up Neighbor
Hello!
I liked very nice
Thanks for liking
Hi Leslie! Thank you for the video. Your garden is lovely. I saw a recent post that you do sprouts in your kitchen. What should I order to get started with that?
Hi Christie! Here's some holders for the glass jars, which are nice but not absolutely necessary. 4PCS Sprouting Stands for Mason Jar - Sprouting Kit 4 Mason Jar Holders for Wide and Regular Mouth Mason Jars Stainless Steel Stand Kit for Sprouts Growing Kit a.co/d/f8KNASr Then if you have a 7 cup glass Pyrex Bowl and a 1 qt wide-mouth canning jar you'll be good to go. I have a spaghetti strainer that comes in handy, as you saw in the video . But again that's not absolutely necessary. I have two different kinds of lids. I like the ones with the little cover shaped insert the best, but the other works well too. Masontops Bean Screen Plastic Mason Jar Sprouting Lids Mason Jar Sprouting Kit - For Growing Broccoli Seeds, Alfalfa, Mung Bean Sprouts - Wide Mouth Seed Sprouting Jar Lids Sprouting Kit Mason Jar a.co/d/0yrj0WG Or Picowe Plastic Sprouting Lids, Sprouting Jar Strainer Lid, for 86mm Wide Mouth Mason Jars, Canning Jars, Suit for Grow Bean Sprouts, Alfalfa, Salad Sprouts(8 Pack,Green) a.co/d/fHqjCNy
Also sprouting seeds. Mild flavored would be alfalfa or clover, but mixes too. Check out sprouting seeds on Amazon or True Leaf.
Thank you for sending the links! Which seed mix would you recommend? Is there one particular one you get through Amazon?
Something like this. NOW Foods, Organic Alfalfa Seeds For Sprouting, Grown in the USA, Certified Non-GMO, 12-Ounce (Packaging May Vary) a.co/d/dr5vD7M The flavors can vary quite a bit. Some say spicy/mild salad or sandwich mix. Reading the reviews can help. I like to buy individual seed varieties and then grow them in separate jars. Radish is spicy, broccoli has a strong flavor but not horrible.
Thank you 😊 I’m looking forward to using the re-vita-pro. I won’t be planting sweet potato 🍠 until next month. Perhaps I can get some in a container or two. Happy gardening 👨🏽🌾 💚
Thank you for watching!
I was thinking of doing this near the brooks in the woods they always have the best soils same as swamps
Genius!
Enjoy!
I’m curious how many slips did you plant in there?
About 12
@@LeslieCaza thank you and how big was that space? I have lots of peat moss.
The space was about 26 inches wide by 12 feet long. The mix is 8" deep.
@@LeslieCaza thank you! Very nice haul for such a small space. Best I’ve seen.
Is that basically peet moss or some other mix of soil?
I own the same model. I use it a lot for dough. Have you found that the machine gets very warm upon the kneading cycle? Thank you for your video. Got a lot of tips and info that will help improve my bread game.
I have not noticed that. I will try to pay attention next time I make bread. The machine is working hard so it's possible. I hope all is well. It will be a couple of weeks until I make bread again.
@@LeslieCaza oh thank you, I appreciate that!
I Made bread today and tried to pay attention of the heating up of the machine during the meeting cycle. The machine got slightly warm on the panel side where the vents are but it was still touchable. The rest of the machine did not get hot.
@@LeslieCaza oh thank you for remembering, I appreciate that!! Found a backup machine at a thrift store, which may come in handy should my zojirushi ⚰️. Thank you again, blessings to you!
@@sandriagutierrez2605 Great! God bless you too!
