all her friends and coworkers, from her entire life, and all their families, were only 800 people? that seems low. just going to high school she probably met hundreds of people who will have lasting memories of her.
Of course it's understandable why she couldn't, considering the terrible fate Cleon visits on her. But I wish she'd been able to think to say, in response to his monologue about erasing her entirely, "You'll still be alive. And you'll always remember. Everyone you affect will have been affected by a man I changed. The man I took from. You can never erase me entirely. This will always have happened. I will always have taken this from you."
Only the one "minute" wave on the universe she made, he couldn't "cancel out": Him. He knows what she did. He still lives. He is the one anchor in that universe he tried to destroy for her, that will be there... remembering. That's the only flaw in his cruel plan for punishment
That's not ruthless. Ruthless would imply doing what needed to be done at any cost. Here he is just being a very powerful man having a tantrum only a nine year old should envy. Edit: But the acting is quite good. I like that actor for this role.
And yet in the end he failed. Because her legacy, her ripple will always be him. He will always remember what she took away from him and no ammount of vengeance will erase that.
Yet again, by kilking 1551 people, that by extension were "chosen" by her, she has had a much more profound impact on the universe. When taking into account all those additional lives affected by this (so perhaps 1000 for each of the 1500) there will be 1,5 million lifes be affected by loss. And then the people affected by the loss will seek help, guidance or support by friends and family. So her legacy is one giant rock thrown into a pond. Slowly fizzling out but touching millions.
this scene is so iconic, and how he resembles the entire power with the touch of his fingers, shows integrity and domiance around him, makes everyone fall with the gaze of his resemblance. Lee Pace is an underatted actor, but plays characters so well, espcially villains.
The writing is sublime. One of the very few cases in film or tv where exposition and narrative crossover and still has emotional weight. Lee Pace is the perfect casting for the role. Calm intellect speaking beautifully of horror Yet as a character, this was a clumsy act of revenge for damage to the dynasty that would play out generations down the line. For all his intellect and power, pride and entitlement are his downfall.
This would have been perfect it had fallen over dead just after snapping his finger, you know, because he was someone in her orbit. I would really respect him for that. :)
This is the scene that made me watch Foundation. The first season starts a bit slow but damn, I don't regret watching this show, I can't wait for the 3rd season!
The irony is that with the deaths of 1,551 people, even if the cause is never known, he has ensured her legacy will live on in the psyches of those who knew the victims. Her legacy is the truth that he is tyrannous and mad with no restraint. He is her legacy, the last person she has affected.
'My personal legacy'....it sounds so cold and emotionless. But, it is in keeping with how the Cleons are raised. The fact is, he loved Dawn. Another clone would replace him and his legacy would continue. But he wouldn't be 'his' Dawn. He WAS his son.
The higher up your position the less you are free to do as you please. That’s how being a commie works. That’s why my only taste of freedom is the internet Persik
Looking back, Day was likely deceiving her about killing her entire family (no doubt he has the power) but she'll never know that and that leaves her in despair.
I just noticed in this version of this clip, the background noises don't mute for a couple of seconds, the moment Cleon gives the signal. In the original when it aired, as well as other versions of this clip, it does this.
Lee Pace plays Israel so well.
Lee Pace is the best. Such underrated actor

doubt that

... and there we have North Korea policy... and the proven end result of Marxism...
All nonsense of course, the book was never like this.
Of all the dates I’ve seen or heard I media, movies, shows, and games, this by far takes the cake.
There are bad days and then really bad days....

Thranduil experienced the savagery of dragons first hand. Brother Day embodied it.

his acting is the only thing worth watching in this terrible show.
Damn.. truly diabolical
That was the dumbest punishment ever. Also, he missed two. He and Dusk will remember her until they die.
Damn, all she did was take his sandwich out of that fridge in the museum break room.
Yeah and this is why they wanted to take out the emperor
Baby don't hurt me.
Funny. For me it would be around 40 people. I keep forgetting everyone
But you'll remember me!!!!! That is my legacy!!!!!!
If there was ever the definition of the phrase " F**k around & Find out"😮😮😮

1551 inocen ppl kyaaaa
She's obviously in shock, but the last thing she could have said was "I'll savor that memory until the day I die.".
Lee should have been Doctor Doom.
Young woman??? Or young man, that she gave her virginity to
I think Lee Pace can play Norman Osborn and he can be as good as William Dafoe.
Good thing she wasn't a tiktok influencer cause then Cleon would have had to eliminate her followers and the family of her followers.
Even the ruthless scenes are boring.
This is the scene that made me watch Foundation. The first season starts a bit slow but damn, I don't regret watching this show, I can't wait for the 3rd season!
She should’ve smiled and said, “So will you. There’s my legacy.”
Good. He was merciful. I would have been worst.
It can’t get worse than this.
Automated room for the rest of your life no senses = insanity, mind cannibalism.
And here i thought homelander was worst but nah this dude is more evil than him even tho he has no superpowers he still has manpower .
It's difficult to fathom that level of power

Amazing peoples who kidnaped was fanastism of emperors, not terrorism like others first episodes
It will be a long time before I find any form of revenge as breathtakingly terrifying as this one.
I guess she should have known better than cross the Emperor.

This scene was absolutely COLD-BLOODED... Wow!

Could have been worse….
this is being cancelled on an entirely different level
