Dubai might not be recognised for its downwind ocean paddling conditions, but it's a place where you can paddle all year round. Summers are warm, but winters are mild. Dubai does offer 3 different downwind conditions; westerlies, northerlies (both generated by the local Shamal winds) and on the rare occasion, a southerly wind.

Surfski's are light weight water craft similar to a kayak, but with an open "sit on top" cockpit and a self-bailer to eliminate water. Designed for speed and stability to catch fast ocean swells on the open sea. A powerful rudder connected to a pedal on a foot plate controls the boat direction while surfing the ocean swells.
