Not still jamming, unfortunately. This was recorded in December of 2005. We did a reunion show and recorded a whole album of songs that we recorded in the 80s as well as some that never got proper recordings back then. Unfortunately, Scott, the guitarist/singer, died in early 2007. I agree that the version of I'm Not Right on this album pales in comparison to the original. There's also one other studio version of the song recorded about two years after the original, but that first one is still the best by far.

if you're hearing what sounds like a phaser effect on the guitar the entire time, I don't think it's the guitar tone or the audio quality- I think it's some limitation on whatever you're listening to it on / through. To avoid confusion, I am a guitarist and I do know exactly what you're talking about when you say phaser effect. Nope, just sounds like your standard distorted electric guitar when I listen. And you can't really say anything uncomplementary about the bass if you can't hear it. Maybe try listening again through headphones or something different then you listened to it on the first time
