    The logistics of applying this on scale probably make it not cost effective compared to other energy sources, but I love the concept of working with nature to harness energy rather than tearing it down in order to build giant power plants. It's a method of energy production that I think very little research has been done into. Wouldn't it be nice if we could produce all the energy we needed without destroying or permanently altering nature in order to do it? While this might not be quite it, it's an area worth doing more research into. The best thing about this, is that it's infinitely scalable. As long as there are forests in the world, it can be easily scaled up, and can be applied where it's needed most, rather than needing to transport energy over large distances, incurring losses.

    This is a remarkable idea, smaller and safer than some others I’ve been pondering. If a flywheel breaks, it’s a very bad day for everyone. Maybe even the neighbors. But if this breaks it will be pretty loud but not all that dangerous. I’d like to see one scaled up to the size of a large hot water heater. Something that could sit in the corner of a basement. In conjunction with rooftop solar and a moderate home backup battery system it could be pretty amazing.

    Awesome channel. I'm no where near yells level of doing things. But I still do things. I love this idea. Makes me wish they wouldn't cut down all the trees. Imagine a forest full of these. They might work better than a solar farm

  • @JK-oz9lh

    I absolutely love your idea! Both! Keep on working on that! I think there's much more energy to be harnessed from the swaying of the entire tree rather than just the trunk. On vacation, I saw a CB radio operator using a telescopic pole to attach his antenna to the treetops. Something like that could be used to attach a generator between the treetops. With minimal effort, we could attach many generators between many treetops and potentially collect a significant amount of energy. I would love to see that happen. Electreecity

    Hi! Very nice idea with tracking life events. I really love how you used the lights to represent the data. I had a similar problem with tracking weight. I used my IT skills to visualize that all is not as bad as I percieved it to be. So it seems engineers think a like 😊

    • @VanjaZavisin
      @VanjaZavisin 2 дні тому

      A bit more info if someone is curious... I always thought that I was not making progress. Or that it stalled. And usually that would make me sad, which would result in bad eating habits. Then the scale would go up, until I reinforced my will to lose weight, and the cycle would repeat. So I made a spreadsheet tracking my daily weight and visualizing it in graphs (within a week, month, three months and six months). I also included a "trend line", similar to what brokers use. It showed me that no matter that I had no progress, or a setback for a couple of days, in the long run I was on track with my goal.

    That definitely was a huge project and turned out really cute. It's very impressive! If I were to make it permanent, at least here in the US, I would replace the mini gun with a working camera with a flash. And the police symbol and flashing red and blue lights would have to change. I would probably do orange. People knowing their picture is being taken because of speeding would definitely slow them down. Also simply adding a large boulder close to the road should slow people down as well.

    Can't speak for this specific version, but tree energy is brilliant! 80% of the construction is pre-existing trees, and even if they are newly planted, that means carbon capture. This should be an industry, to let it evolve high capacity, low investment versions!

    The largest amount of relative movement would not be between a tree's trunk and its branches, but between one stationary object like a tree's lower trunk and the top of a different tree. This would also provide a lot more force, so the gear mechanism can be changed to one with more linear generators or one with a higher speed agitator. It could even turn a conventional generator using a one direction clutch and a strong gear increase and flywheel. There would have to be a recoiling cable with extra cable so to accommodate many different movement distances.

    Not sure if this gets mentioned later, but this could also be hidden inside of a birdhouse. In fact, the generator could be housed in the post of a birdhouse that's mounted to a freestanding post instead of the tree itself, allowing the tree to grow freely, without regular adjustment of the straps. The only big downside of this that I can see is that the movement of the tree isn't "planar", but the motion of the generator is. So I feel like there is a lot of lost potential there.

    Commercial use in common places NO.👎 There are better options that are available to the people. Another question is scalability. Size and higher pressure will cause the thing to generate more heat. Which would lead to mechanical failure. You don't have this big of a problem with water And if you have an access to a flowing water source and a rampump it is free to charge. But not common use For Example a submarine Where they make their own atmosphere. As well as store it. Under these circumstances this gives them more options. So, does this have any value? In some cases Yes but more or less extreme environmental circumstances as well educational purposes only.

    Great idea and proud of these efforts. May I add that the frequency of the tree is active in nature and used to hear living plants even without knowing could generate these same aspects. Frequency pitches from the tree not just by movement but growth in plants. This energy is always in motion, not only when the wind blows but even when the plant is in dormant. Using this theory may be more sustainable and help generate more energy with or without movement. Much like a reader for earthquakes and with those low or high active movements, it could have enough energy used as a semiconductor. Thus using frequency within the plants to harness the same as if it was moved from wind without really relying on the wind and harness it fully. Ppl have such plant frequency readers that clip onto a leaf or branch and use it to hear individual pitches that sound like music. The capability of using these noises could stimulate a vibration and keep it moving without even trying.

    I have thought about this for many years as I live on 75 acres of land with a huge frost on the land. And I have also thought about this for blades of grass. Why not use Piezoelectric elements instead with a hammer pounding on the elements? Rochelle salt is a good material as it gives off 15,000 volts per cubic cm struck. Rochelle salt is that material used in igniters for BBQ or lighters.

    I'm not sure why you have 12mm spacing for a 10mm coil? Reducing the spacing to 10mm would allow for a 20% increase in energy production.
