    How big of a rotary cutter have you ran on your t494? I've been running 6 ft on mine and was wondering if anyone has tried to run a 7 ft and if they had any issues or not?

    So what's the verdict on the shifter fork fork repair? TYM is on the short list of possibilities for my next / bigger tractor for heavier work and some forestry use. I understand the quality of tractor dealership you work with is generally more important than the color of the paint, and your dealer's handling of this issue might give us some idea how TYM handles service issues.

      It has taken quite a bit of abuse over the last year or 2. As for the bolt issues people are having, I went to tractor supply and bought a set of in-stock shoulder bolts and blades and I drilled out the holes to fit the bigger shoulder bolts and now it's easy to change and maintain blades

      Sorry Ive been meaning to do an update video. I love the tractor I would buy another in a heartbeat. A freind of mine purchased a kioti nx5010 at the same time and it's supposed to be a comparable tractor... it's far from comparable honestly. As for the ls tractor the cab is too small for me to fit in comfortably so I didn't look much into them after that.

    The piece of metal looks like part of the speed range shifting fork. Since your tractor is a HST unit, please lightly press the forward and reverse pedals to change speed ranges. This helps line up the gears and shift collar to make shifting easier. Usually speed range change is difficult on all TYM tractors. Using this method, I doubt you will have any other problems. It is best you inform your dealer and have them pull the shift tower off the side of the transmission or drop a fiberscope in the transmission. Good video.

      You are 100% correct sir! I broke my shift fork in one day because it wouldn't shift easy from Medium to Low gear. Wish my dealer would've told me the trick about pressing forward and reverse pedals slightly to align the gears. I was without my new tractor for a few months until the part came in to fix it. Other than the cumbersome shifting shift, TYM is golden.

    I am looking at a YTM T574. I am very interested. I enjoyed your video however, after watching your video I was very disappointed at mm 12:55 . Your tractor with the hydrostatic seemed to really struggle pushing that little pile of dirt. I have a 33 year old Ford skip loader, 445c 56hp w/a torque converter 4sp. It has amazing power. After watching your video I don't think a T494 could touch the power at the wheels and hydraulics of my 33yo tractor. I'm asking myself..."is it worth it to upgrade to a new machine?" Hopefully the T574 with shuttle will have tons more kahones. No disrespect to you, your tractoror this video. (Great video btw) Before i sign on the dotted line i will require a try out at my homestead for a couple days. Messick's yt channel did a test. The shuttle shift will double the pulling power of the hydrostat. Hopefully thats true ... Or i will look to Kubota instead of TYM

      @fredericksfarmandwoodwork4137 9 місяців тому

      Nothing will ever compare to the old iron that's for sure. And agreed a shuttle will I believe give you more power to the ground I chose a hydro bc it's alot easier for the majority of the tasks I perform with the tractor. Definitely the best thing to do is test one out yourself before signing on the dotted line it's a big commitment and I hope you find a machine your happy with

      That's tough and becoming more and more prevalent unfortunately. The biggest part of a tractor purchase is the dealer relationship your purchasing as well. I have nothing but great things to say about my dealer. Also maybe time to invest in a few tools and start servicing your own machine to lessen downtime

    Sometimes when pushing off piles like you did, it is more productive to not dump the bucket on each run. Better to just push the pile off, back up and do it again leaving dirt in the bucket using it like a bulldozer.

    Hey man got a question- how would this machine do scraping 4-6” of dirt off the top for a driveway cutout? The hydraulics seemed to whine a big in those piles. I’m wondering if it would have the oomph

    • @fredericksfarmandwoodwork4137
      @fredericksfarmandwoodwork4137 Рік тому

      To scrape off the top like that if it's hard dirt I would break it up with a 3pt implement like a box blade with ripper shanks then clean it up with loader it would be alot faster and easier on the machine than trying to dig it out.

    Just a tip that an old guy told me about when adjusting the width of your forks, lift them up about 6' high, and then lower the tips down so that the forks are hanging vertical, they slide very easy this way. I occasionally still do the kick and yank method at times too, but the hanging slide works good on both of my sets of forks when I do it.
