Thank you for saying "simply" that you are chronically ill 🤍There should be much more awareness in our society that no matter what age, gender or whatever, you can be chronically ill ❤️🩹 Knitting helps me with my smorgasbord of headache diseases. Thanks for your great video 🧶 and all the best for 2025 ❤
thanks so much for commenting this! i was a bit insecure about mentioning it without going into detail but i'm glad it came across as i'd hoped it would to at least one person 🥹🤍 sending all the love your way! 💕💕
Just found your UA-cam channel and love it 😊 I’m so excited for the kal for the heart chain sweater
ahh how awesome! happy to have you here 💕 make sure to let me know your instagram user to add you to the chat or follow me over on instagram for more recent updates!
I wonder if you can sew some elastic thread into your penny gloves to make them fit better
that's so smart!!! i'll try that for sure, thanks 🥰
Wow your underarm seaming or picking up stitches is flawless, especially on the birkin polo. One of my dream sweater is the Franky Genser so I hope to be able to make it soon. The colour looked so nice on you!
ohhh thank you SO much for saying that!! i'm a terrible perfectionist and spend a lot of time redoing that pickup sometimes so glad to know it might actually be worth all that silly effort 😅 and apart from all the twisted stitches the franky genser is so fun to knit and wonderful to wear! enjoy 💕
The pink kos would be perfect for the Siri sweater or cardigan by le knit . I made the cardigan and love it
ooohhh yes, thanks!!! i can totally see that working! 💕 fluffy cabled texture 💕
Sunday has that pretty rosy colour. I just knitted a cardigan with it. It is 4343.I held it with Tynn silk mohair. I love that colour too. I will post a video on my channel with it.
ahhh yes i've been wanting to try that! but i'm afraid that one might be a tad cooler and i won't like it the same 😭 the kos color is 4333 so it could be close enough though? excited to see your video! 💕💕
14:30 haha net een douchemuts 😂
hahahaha ja eigenlijk wel! ik zei champignon 😂
this was so delightful! so glad i found this channel and can't wait to add some of these to my ravelry queue
this is so sweeeeet 🥹 thank you!! very happy to have you here 💕✨
Wait, adhd meds can make your fingers cold? I didnt know that 😮 maybe thats the reason i have freezing fingers and toes now??
oh yes!!! i didn't know this either... the first time that happened with meds which made that really bad for me i felt so unsettled 😳 i even got a bit too focused on that sensory experience to properly focus on my work 😂 it's not as bad with the ones i'm taking atm but still a great excuse to knit all the penny gloves! also, did you know about the research on knitting being very beneficial for adhd brains? it's so interesting! i sometimes feel like quite a lot of us here might be in that same ND boat 👀
13:50 I had the same issue with my beret coming out too small! i ended up stretching it by hand while it was still wet - no special technique - I stretched, rotated and stretched until nothing gave, tried it on my head, then stretched again until it fit. the stretching didn't misshape it in any way, it still looks round
thank you SO much for sharing!!! i'll definitely be re-blocking it to see if i can make this work as well 🥰✨
awww hi kitty :) what is her name?
hehe 🥰🥰🥰 her name is lilla! (it's the swedish female diminutive form for 'little', because she's such a small kitty 🥹)
d'awwww, so sweet i love that! <3 she's adorable!
🥹💕
Just to clarify - did you hold 2 strand of Tynn Line for the blue Blouse number 1? Or just one and go down a needle size? It's beautiful!
I was too fast - you just answered that! 😂
hahaha no worries! i tend to be a bit of a chaotic yapper 😅 i found it so odd that i had to size down my needles so significantly, since tynn line is thicker than the suggested yarn? or it is when you compare yardages at least 👀✨
@ sometimes the gauge in knitting is pure mystery 🤷🏻♀️
oh absolutely 😂
wow so many beautiful knits you've done in 2024! quite inspiring 🤗
thanks so much!!! you're incredibly kind🤍🤍🤍
Thank you for showcasing all your 2024 knits ❤
thank YOU for watching!! 🥰🥰
Hey, you should try reblocking the beret. Felted wool can still stretch a lot when wet. I would try to pull on the border when it’s tight or putting it over a bigger plate to dry. Good luck!
ohh, thanks so much for the tip!! i was a bit scared to try that, but your comment just gave me the courage i needed 🥹💕✨
Very pretty knits! Love watching your channel! I'm wondering where you buy your yarns from? I'm also from Belgium and struggling a bit ❤
thank you so much! i tend to go to wolder in gent or i buy quite some yarn from (online) stores in belgium and the netherlands, at times also france or germany! my favorites in terms of selection are wolly wonka and de breiboerderij! often times i also just google product search a yarn to figure out whether any stores nearby sell them 👀✨ (edited out a typo)
@candidknit thank you!!
❤
💕💕
The Top Sol is so cute! I can see it looking nice over a turtleneck or a long sleeve of some sort with a long skirt/dress underneath!!
that's actually such a great idea!! thanks 💕✨
I've been thinking about making the blouse no 1 with some leftover go handmade bamboo and this has CONVINCED me! Yours is stunning!
ahhh yay!!! so excited for you, it's an amazing pattern! bamboo yarn sounds heavenly too 💕✨
You are so inspiring! Thank you! I now want to make those sweaters you made! The pink one especially!!
ahhh thank you so much 🥹💕
I am trying to understand how much yarn I need to purchase for Sweater #14. I see the following in the pattern I bought: “200 (250) 300 gr. Merino, Knitting for Olive, 50 gr. / 250 m.” Does it mean that for size Medium I just need to get one skain of this yarn and 2 of silk mohair to hold 3 strands...?
you indeed hold three strands! so for the second size that would be 5 balls of kfo merino and then double that yardage of mohair ✨ i managed with 200g of a fingering wool for the smallest size
@@candidknitoh of course. 250 gr would be 5 skains (50 gr each. ).. Plus 10 skains of mohair. Thank you 😅
have fun!! which yarn/color are you thinking of using? ✨
Cool makes ❤❤❤❤ I hope you will have a great knitting year because you’re good. Thank you for sharing your work ❤❤❤
that's so kind!!! thank you so much 🤍🤍🤍 i hope you have the most amazing knitting year yourself as well 🥰
@ thank you 😊🙏😍
Omg anso, I feel SO called out hahah! I am people, I’m scared to pair blue tops with blue jeans! I’ve loved this video so much - insanely aesthetic as always, your hair and nails are absolutely immaculate!! Also, you are entirely incorrect, the light creamy yarns suit you SO SO SO MUCH!!! I know you consider loads of your later projects flops but I also disagree, the negatives are so not visible to anyone but you! Also happy 1st channel birthday 🎉💕
ah wika stop itttt, you're too kind!!! 🥹 also YES 😂😂 your soft blue top looks so cute with your jeans i swear!! and thanks so much for the kind words about my flop era hahah 🥰🤍
Happy one year anniversary anne-sophie!!
thank youuuu 🥰🥰🥰
Happy 1st year Anniversary!
thank you so much 🤍🤍🤍
Loved your plans! For the tie front cardigan you can have a look at the Epiphany cardigan by Anna Hermann Sorensen. It is designed for 2 strands of mohair so that you don't have to modify the Robinson pattern. Hope this helps!😊
oh thanks!! i love anna's patterns and even tested for her before, but want to keep the epiphany pattern for another time and another yarn 👀
I made a dress with Filcolana Arwetta and Tilia in antique rose and the colour is just amazing! So if you are considering this combo I highly recommend ;)
And also - about the yarn you used for Ingrid sweater - I also highly recommend the Paul Cardigan, I'm doing it right now in almost exact same colour (different yarn, but also marzepan-ish ;) and it looks sooo nice, very elegant. I want to add beigy-gold beading across the button band to make it a bit more festive :D
ahhh wonderful! i ended up getting some peruvian in old rose online (they don't have that color at my lys) and i'm not entirely sure the old rose will match the antique rose tilia so i'll have to gather the courage to take my ball of non-lys yarn to my lys to compare 🥹🥰
I’m knitting the heart chain sweater rn in the largest size and the pattern is so poorly done for the larger sizing. It wanted me to stop at like 3/4 sleeve length and was going to be super cropped on me. And I’m 5 foot 2
oh no!!! thanks so much for letting me know, i guess all knitting it together will be good then! we can struggle together in the group chat 🥹
Would love to be part of the KAL for the heart chain sweater! And I think starting it around valentines day is a great idea! I am thinking of making it in one strand of Cascades 220 in the colour Helleborus. I think a pink cabled sweater would be perfect to wear in the fall too 💕
how wonderful!!! that color looks amazing too! i'll be keeping everyone posted over on instagram, it will indeed probably be a valentines day cast on 💕
I like to watch everyone’s winter knitting plan videos to get ideas. Right now I’m test knitting the Sandro pullover and the Harris Hood. I’ve lost 2 hand knit hats the first time I wore them so thinking a hood will stay around my neck if I need to take it off my head, lol. I have the heart chain in my favorites- not sure I’ll do it. Maybe the KAL will motivate me to knit it :)
oh my god that hat story sounds devastating!!! i once lost one glove and still haven't recovered, can't imagine losing a hat twice 😭 we'll probably start the KAL on valentines day if you'd like to join! 💕
So nice to discover that so many people are planning to knit the Heart Chain sweater! I'll also do it soon, with 1 strand of Drops Daisy and one strand of Drops kid-silk in cobalt blue :D It's so nice that you contacted the designer and they answered!
ohhh a cobalt blue one will be so gorgeous!!! can't wait to see that 😍😍😍
This was so fun to watch! 🎉 I would love to knit the heart chain sweater (planning to knit off gauge in smaller gauge to get a smaller size). If there is a smaller size released I’d choose knitting for olive heavy merino too!
yay! so exciting 🥰 i'll keep you guys posted over on instagram!
love your knitting plans! i'm currently knitting my colorwork cardigan, and tomorrow I'll cut it. it seems sooo stressful
ohhh how exciting! can't wait to see that 🥰🤍
I'm working on an Attune Shawl using my handspun.. it's my first project using my own handspun yarn and it's such a joy <3 I just finished a Champagne Cardigan where I steeked for the first time! Still need to get buttons for it, though.
that's all so impressive!!! love that for you 🥹🤍
Also purchased the heart chain sweater in Korean on Korean platform(because I am Korean). Surprised to know that this pattern is so popular in the English speaking world! I might cast this on or a v-neck sweater 😊
how nice! honestly the design deserves all the hype it's getting in my humble opinion, it looks too gorgeous to not be a huge success 🥰
Yes please, I really want to knit the Heart Chain sweater, I already bought the pattern and the yarn for it but I haven’t started yet, it would be so fun to knit in a group sharing ❤❤❤
yay! thanks for letting me know! it looks like it's going to be a valentine's day cast on/start date 🥰
What was the name of the yarn shop you recommend? My husband is from Belgium so we're there sometimes to visit friends and family and I'm always on the look for fun yarn shops to visit. I haven't been so lucky so far though...
it's called Wolder, in Gent! it's close to the city center, but so not really located in the center itself. the store isn't big (at the moment, this might change since they're moving very soon) but they have many nice yarns ✨ it creates a lovely feeling, almost like you're entering a colorful and well-organized yarn cave 🥰 but more well-lit than a cave 😂
@candidknit Thanks. I was actually on my way there during the fall but due to a large traffic jam (welcome to Belgium...!) we only arrived in Ghent during the evening. But I really loved the city so decided to try to go back next time we're in Belgium. Now I have one more reason to do that. 🙂
ah, quintessential belgium stuff indeed 🥹 gent is always worth a visit in my very unbiased opinion 🥰
one store i would really also recommend near Antwerp is Wolly Wonka! ✨
@candidknit That one is very close to my parents in law but so far it has always been closed when we were there. That's the risk work going during vacation time...
Why does everything need to be so planned out? It's a hobby. I just knit on whatever I feel like doing. Plans and deadlines are for work... Just enjoy.
i totally get what you're saying! very glad that seems to work for you 🥰 i do need structure, otherwise i fear i would end up with even more unfinished wips than is already the case 😅 so although it's sometimes confining, planning ahead actually helps me enjoy the hobby! it helps me see projects through thanks to the excitement for what's next! it also helps reduce the overwhelm and choice paralysis the abundance of possible projects can bring, and it seems to keep my yarn shopping in check🥹
Haven‘t seen the heart chain sweater before, but it‘s really cute! Would definitely knit it in late winter/early spring
22:27 I lowkey feel like a dark brown (similar to your wardrobe in the back) could look great as a button
yay!! thanks for letting me know! 🥰✨
i went and held the yarn next to the wardrobe and you may just be a genius for this! would need to figure out how to make that work with my wardrobe, but darker buttons definitely would look cute!
❤
💕💕
Hi, I just found your channel and I love your style of podcast type videos! I appreciate your work you put into your videos :) I was wondering though, and it’s not a huge deal.. but may I ask that you don’t say “omg” in your videos. It can be slightly offensive, but if not I’ll still continue to watch. Btw Happy new year, I hope all is well!! ❤️❤️
thanks so much for the kind comment, but mostly for letting me know how you feel 🩷 i'll definitely try to consciously avoid saying that in the future! i must admit that i do have a habit of saying this a lot... while i was already attempting to express myself differently in general, i should also note that it might take me a while to make this exactly right given how subconscious my use of it has become 😅
whoops, sent my reply too soon 😅 wanted to wish you a very happy and healthy new year as well 🩷
@@candidknit no problem, thank you for acknowledging my comment! 😊
You might try 'combination knitting' to help with your ribbing. Andrea Mowry has a great video tutorial. :)
thanks so much for the tip! i'll definitely check that out 💕
update: i checked it out and you might have just changed my life 🥰 can't wait to try it! do you have any experience with this technique altering your gauge?
I don't mind going with the majority timeline for the Heart Chain Sweater KAL. I think knitting together is more important to me than the timeline
🥰
I would like to join the cal for Heart sweater. I ve just purcased the pattern.
yay! it seems like we'll probably cast on on valentine's day 💕 i'll be keeping everyone posted on instagram and try to figure out how to make a community post here on youtube as well
I will be happy if Kal will happen.
Your videos are such a joy to watch, thank you for the inspiration ✨
thank you so much! you made my night 🥹🥰
The heart chain sweater is a better outcome than I hoped for (also, so kind of you to wait!). I think starting it on Valentine's day would be super cute, and still tie it to that day, what was your initial link to the KAL I believe. If the bigger sizes are not available yet then I'm absolutely fine with waiting a bit longer than the rest ;-)
oh of course! 💕 that sounds like a really great plan, thanks! 🥰
Your hair looks so good! Love everything in this video and cant wait to see it all as you finish. I'm currently working on a Braidy Loop sweater and really loving it
ahhh thanks so much! would love to knit a braidy loop myself this year, it looks so fun 🥰 which yarn are you using? 😍
The heart chain sweater would look so romantic in a pink or red color, despite the season it's intended for. The heart cables are asking for it! 😀
i was realizing this too as i was editing my video! you're sooo right 💗💕
@@candidknit Go ahead and rock it if those are colors you enjoy! And btw, I've had similar fit issues when branching out. I know that with big designers like PetiteKnit, I will get what I see and it'll fit well, but I've had to restart or completely abandon pieces from smaller designers. I think the reason is that there are a lot of creative people who make beautiful garments, but they're not made with a good fit in mind... Thinking about all the designs with minimal or non-existent short rows and so on
definitely get what you're saying! i do feel like some bigger designers also keep their patterns less complex/more beginner friendly (mostly thinking of my favourite things knitwear here as i'm currently working up her sweater no. 25) 👀 so i was wondering whether they know something about working at a gauge that works for more people, versus smaller designers maybe more so going off their personal gauge? i'm assuming it's a combination of various factors, but so interesting to think about!
@@candidknit I think it's one thing to be able to write a good knitting pattern, and a completely different skill to design a well-fitting garment, whether it's knit, crochet or sewing
yeah, for sure!!
I think warm colours suits you better. Maybe you are spring? What about the pattern sweater no 20? This is also cabled pattern
thanks for sharing! i fear i must disagree, though 😳 i guess the filmed colors must look more different from real life ones than i thought 😅 i personally don't feel like the sweater no.20 fits my style as well, are you mentioning this because you'd want to join the KAL with that pattern? because i could consider making it a cabled KAL more generally 🥰
@ yes. I love texture pattern . I was considering diamond Aran sweater.
you're the second one to suggest this, i'll wait a little longer to see what people say but if more people would like to join with different patterns i'll make it more broad!
@ there are so many sweaters on the list. I approach the spot sweater like a hedgehog
