I got a few laps in at the whistler bike park riding Dirt Merchant, A-line, Freight Train, and even tried Crabapple Hits for the first time before i blew the damper in my Rockshox Zeb while riding Dirt Merchant. Luckily it’s covered by warranty but it’ll be a few weeks before i’m back on the bike. 0:00 Dirt Merchant 1:06 Rippin' Rutabaga 2:11 Pines of Mar Gables 2:28 Del Boca Vista 3:43 A-line ...

Angry Pirate // Whistler Bike Park, 2022
Переглядів 2,9 тис.2 роки тому
Angry Pirate in the Whistler Bike Park starts as a tight and bermy single black tech trail, and turns into a tight blue trail at the lower half. The trail comes out at the beginning of the second half of A-line, which is a great trail to take after angry pirate for the perfect whistler bike park lap! Black Forest HAM // Vedder Mountain, BC

Black Forest HAM, (also known as Blackhawk down, depending on who you ask) is a loose and steep trail on Vedder mountain in Chilliwack. Rated as a single black, Black Forest HAM can get you hurt if you don't bring your A-game. There are several sustained steep sections where its basically impossible to stop or slow down. Good brakes are essential! Trailforks: www.trailforks.com/trails/blackhawk...

can a 100mm XC bike ride this?
Cool footage, I've never seen the park this snowy, when was this filmed?
Great video. Miss home ❤
Why so angry sweetheart
BTW, with these tied turns I would use the bell on my bike to avoid any bear on the trails :D
1:11 almost every trails everywhere. No signs or places such way that you have pull out Trailforks anyway....
I believe these are the tightest berm in the park, what's your camer setup? sick ride 🤘
Ouch! I hope you're feeling better. CBC looks like so much fun, I haven't ridden it in a very long time, but after watching this I sure as heck am heading back to ride it!
Giving new meaning to the phrase "zoomies" xD Dang that was awesome! He scrubbed this little drop into a right hander and absolutely railed the corner hahaha holy cow you both were rippin! YEEWWW :D \m/
How the drive up from 2 Cents to Black Forest HAM? Will an AWD Ford F-150 get up there okay? :)
Yep no problem! Ive been up that road on a chevy avalanche, ford f-150, and a tacoma.
Hows the upper shuttle road bro? I'm coming back to BC for another DH shuttle trip in a few weeks. I'll be in an AWD Ford F-150 and I'm curious if I'll be able to get to the top of Black Forest HAM and REFR in the truck? I've had mixed answers so I'm asking as many people as I can :P. Keep the goods coming, cheers bro! YEEWWW!!!! :D \m/
I've done it in a RWD Tacoma, but usually prefer to just park at the turnoff to it and pedal that section to get warmed up. That section is definitely chunkier and has some ditches so you need clearance.
I want a dog like that
Where’s this trail?
O.S.R. on thornhill
That’s amazing. The only thing I have to say is get whips down. You have all the jump skills but the whip will give you all the style and make it more enjoyable to watch(more subs😉)
i did this rip often and you made me feel good as i was in my 70s and found Nicoles pretty tame while are huffing and puffing 😂 if you want something that may get your huffing going try Gear Jammer especially Lower Gear Jammer; i love it and you could rip her but Lower G J has a steep run with LOTS of baby heads at the bottom and it come out to a T and a ravine if you don't stop quick enough
be careful and have fun ps i ride there too
Just started watching your channel love the content
That trail is no joke now
two people hospitalized on opening day after the rework. might be the most dangerous trail on the shore now.
@@TheDHJunkiewhat happened to them?where did they crash?want to know myself to avoid those features lol. Did you ever come back and do the trail?
Switch to a Fox 38. Thank me later.
Nice ride
SICK!!! I love the videos! Keep up the great work. I think i am just gonna save up the extra bit and get the clash, I just like the geometry and specs on the bike. Find this trail videos super cool, park is great and all but there is just a natural feeling of riding these kinds of trails. Anyway have a great week!
Great video
This is the opposite of a flow trail.
the faster you go the smoother it feels
Scary! I've eyed that transition a few times and never felt it. Glad you are safe and hope you can get redemption soon.
as soon as i can i’m coming back to hit it proper!
That was a good crash bud! I'm glad you're ok but sad you're concussed. I am now just getting over a bad one myself so I know what they're like. Shit man, sometmes its not worth the risk, but i know exactly how you feel and how its important to push your limits. Anyways dude, heal up and be safe! You're a good rider!
Bro I did the same thing on Friday. Broken bones and concussion. Worst feeling in the world going OTB on a jump, isn't it? Take it easy though man, adrenaline and other hormones can mask the pain and concussion symptoms for a good day or two...
ouch! i haven’t broken any bones yet, but i can totally agree with the adrenaline thing. it hurt so much worse the next few days compared to the first day.
@@TheDHJunkie You got really lucky! You were carrying a good amount of speed and really sent her haha. I find tissue damage hurts more than broken bones, but I've only broken small bones (fingers). Keep up the good work on your channel. 👍
hard hit how are you feeling?
not as bad as i thought i would. think i’ll be good in a week or two.
@@TheDHJunkie great!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👌🏽
Awesome video, as always. Its crazy how fast that snow melts. Was up at peak to peak maybe three weeks ago when I was in whistler and there was at least 8 feet of snow still. Definitely going back next year and 2 months later when everything is open. Also these half an hour videos are awesome keep up the great work! 🤘🏼
I love this trail!
Very sick indeed!!! Good job man! Pretty bumpy and technical with some flow. Keep on shredding!
Dang, that is really chunky. The bike handled it really well. Was looking at the Clash but they upped the price and it’s a green not a dirt brown anymore so that’s gone. Anyway the trail looked really fun and I was laughing at some of the lines you took. This video was fun to watch.
yeah i’m super glad i got the 2021 while they still had it. $100 more for the exact same specs and i didn’t like the colour as much either on the 2022.
@@TheDHJunkie 100 percent agree, I looks to dark. In my opinion
also look into the canyon torque. it’s pretty similar to the clash and i think you can get it in a mullet. afaik the price was a bit cheaper than the clash with similar specs
@@TheDHJunkie Thanks will do, Was looking a bit more and if I can hold the urge to buy a new bike a little bit longer I could get a decent specked Transition Spire.
I love that jump so much, it feels so good to take off on the left side of the lip and bring your bike all the way to the other side and smash the bank
i hate how kicky it is
@@rocky6162 I love how kicky it is, and I usually dontrr like kicky jumps
I just stumbled across your channel. Great video man. Crabapple is sick
Hello again, Bixby is so adorable. He was flying down the trail!
i was shocked at how fast he can go

@@nolanmcevoy6936 why, thats is the worst photo u could of chosen from! WHY!!!
love your video's man! keep it up!
im using a mountain bike now
Man your case because Whistler is so wet, glad i didnt get the season pass.
Excellent job buddy!! I hate skinnies too 😆😆 you did an amazing job 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️
I don't think Whistler even bothers to fix braking bumps anymore, honestly. It's getting to the point where it's almost embarrassing how blown out the trails are. 10 points for the side quest!
Dude awesome video!! You are definitely dialled in!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Super sick video dude!. I had a 2020 rockshox boxxer and i blew out the hidraulic damper at the spanish DH Nationals. Seems to be a fault on a plastic piece that breaks off. Rockshox usually services It by the warranty. In my case they sent me the 2021 boxxer top end ,worldcup,so dont worry about It mate. Really enjoying your vids dreaming about whistler. Peace&love from Spain ✌🏻
yeah it’s already in for warranty, hoping they’ll send me a better damper 🤞
"if i pull my back brake....." Force can act 90 degrees to how they were applied on a free floating rotating body. if you press your front brake will that back tire go up? sorry about the fork. :(
When you go off the jump, your wheels are rotating forward, pulling either brake will transfer the forward rotation from the wheels onto your body/bike
Better to keep the front wheel spinning so you can use it to steer in the air. But yes if you apply either brake in the air it will make your bike rotate forward around the bb.
@@brandonreimer184 truth is we are not in the air long enough to try. Lol 😆🤣
I've always wondered. Don't your feet ever slip off of the pedals? Because I'd imagine you'd be standing a lot because of all those bumps. Or do you simply have extremely good suspension?
when going downhill like this i’m standing up 99% of the time. even with really good suspension it would be impossible to jump or ride down steeps while sitting down. and yes sometimes my feet do slip off the pedals but it’s less likely than you would think.
Could be a token that got loose.
haha no it’s 100% the damper went. I wish it was just a token
Time to get a Fox 36 or 38 I have a 36 and its the best thing ive ever rode so smooth and so easily adjustable and so much adjustmnet
haha i’m getting it replaced under warranty so i’ll be going back to the zeb. I might borrow my dads fox 36 off his bike while im waiting for the warranty though.
@@TheDHJunkie I have seen more FOXs 36-38 than Zebs interesting
ripin' duuude, heck ya! truly mad 👌🔥⚡
feels so good to be riding these huge jumps with confidence now! cheers man!
