Snow Camping with Hot Tent at Indian Grinding Rock Campground
Переглядів 2,1 тис.Рік тому
Recent atmospheric river brought tons of snow to the sierra mountains. Even some low altitude campgrounds are covered by snow, making some perfect opportunities for snow camping. So we had this trip to Indian Grinding Rock campground. Weather was great when we arrived, warm and no wind at all. But in the night it started to rain and later changed to heavy wet snow. I was worried whether our ten...

Hot tent camping in redwoods with Nortent Gamme 4 and Pomoly wood stove

Hot tent camping in the snow has grown in my mind for a long time. I have been watching hot tent videos from youtube for a couple of years, and FINALLY made the call recently. I just received my Nortent Gamme 4 last week and Pomoly stove one week ago. Can not wait to put them in use, so I selected a beautiful redwood camp ground to test them out. We drove to the sour grass trail in early May. The trail is a little challenging for 4Runner with 285/70/17 AT tire. But I was able to get through with a good spotter and winch. Sour grass is an out-and-back trail, it is a little crowed in later of the day. Appreciate everyone's patience while we slowly moved along the trail.

We entered Barney Riley Trail from trail head on HW89 closer to HW4, spent a night camping near the hot spring. The water level is too high, so we did not cross river. But we found a new way out to 395 without cross river. And we tested it out. It was a supper fun trip, wish we could stay one more night and explore around.

It is opposite with jumping. I was confusing and mistook these two. Quote from internet: Frontside means that you approach the rail so that it is in front of you when you prepare to pop. Your back is looking forward during the entire slide. For the backside boardslide, the rail is behind you when you approach it and you will look straight ahead while you slide on it.
