Переглядів 56 тис.11 років тому
Led by Wilt Chamberlain, Billy Cunningham, Hal Greer, Chet Walker, Lucious Jackson, Wali Jones, and Coach Alex Hannum, the 1966-67 76ers had one of the most dominating seasons in NBA history. They defeated the Celtics, who had won the previous eight NBA Championships, in the semifinals, and defeated the Warriors in the finals to claim the franchise's 2nd NBA Championship.

WNC Luke Jackson chet Walker Hal Greer & wali jones= greatest team of all time!
WNC in the clutch……..wilt haters note!
Rick Barry= one of 8 men to average 40mpg for their career!
WTF said bird McHale & Parish were the greatest front court of all time?
WTF happened to the 3rd greatest dynasty of all time in Boston?
Trio’s relay throw to get the guy at the plate in the league championship series was sick.
Andy Musser was underrated. Those calls in the NLCS are terrific.
HAVE 1979 HIGHLIGHTS
Not a Phillies fan, but I do enjoy them from afar. This is one of my favorite individual teams/championship documentaries ever. I love that they got the legend, John Facenda, to narrate it and that they basically produced it like NFL Films, music included 😁
17:32 Dave Zinkoff- "OFF THE BASKET!!" "OFF THE BASKET!!!"
16:00-16:50 Shout out to the late, great Paul Richardson the Phillies organist and wizard behind the keyboards.
You know I think the all-around rebound and pass style Wilt adopted during this season would mold perfectly to todays NBA
5:00
NFL films music back then absolutely awesome!
Russell owned Chamberlain
Wow Im 43 years old. and I love the Phillie Phanatic like a kid still today.
My favorite Phillies team of all time; the 1993 team comes close.

Wish I could go back to 1980
Best team ever with the best player ever by far as their star player. Best ever playoff performance and accomplishment and best ring ever snapping the goat dynasty at its peak 8-0 streak and then going on to dominate the finals while wilt averaged 22, 29, 12, and 9 off 58% shooting on the very verge of averaging a quadruple double for an entire postseason. Doesn’t get better than that
Heavy
What is stunning to me is that there is not one single broadcast of this great team, other then a partial game 4 eastern conference finals game (which they lost). I know the NBA was not that big back then but what about like local TV broadcast. Could they have taped over every single one?
I used to listen to the 1966-67 Philadelphia 76ers on WCAU radio with Andy Musser doing the play by play, and Sonny Hill the color commentary. This station had a very powerful signal that carried all the way to upstate NY, where I lived. TV broadcasts were limited to the NBA Game of the week on ABC on Sunday afternoons from 2-4pm. In the ‘67 Playoffs, I recall watching game 4 of the Eastern Finals vs. the Celtics, and games 2 and 5 of the championship series vs. the Warriors. No other games were televised. It was a different time than today.
"Losing only 13 game is something that I believe is something that will be impossible to do again. " Then Wilt broke that record just 5 years later with you can argue an even better team.
One of the greatest bball team ever. A team that could've had completely stopped the Bill Russell & Celtics Dynasty but the front office & GM were stupid for broke this team up after the season!
So great to see this. My Dad was Producing the games at WPHL this season and travelled with the team. He also set the camera locations at the Spectrum. Makes me wonder if any of this is his footage. So many great memories from this time.
11:32 Incredible
Филадельфия флаерс,мечта идиотов.
I recommend this to everyone
Excellent Episode.... Nostalgia at it's Best!🏆🏀🏆
Great old footage
My God Pete Rose was just on another level. 39 years old and not only hag 185 hits but leads the league in doubles then in the strike shortened season of 1981 he leads the league in hits(140) he hits .325. At 40 years old.
This documentary was really put together well, especially considering it was 1967. Very cool camera angles too especially for the time. Oh and btw Wilt out-rebounded Russell. That 76ers team was incredible, they played magnificently!
1) NFL Films doing the film made it the best baseball film ever. 2) It was a bunch of Phillies fans doing the film. A labor of love. And it shows. They went all out.
OFF-SIDES BY A MILE. PERIOD. VERY sad. Game 6 vs. Islanders.
❤️ oldies NBA basketball
Now the Spirits are HAUNTING the 76ers !!!!!
Definitely should be on an NBA 2K game with Wilt Chamberlain's rating being 99!
Much respect to this great team from a Celtics fan!
Wilt couldn't shoot.
Didn't need to.
And?
6:45 why was the game held at the Palestra instead of the civic center?
Also. Boston fans are trash. Never want to hear anything about Philly fans and Santa again.
Does anyone have the name of the song played from approx 3:30 to 6:17? Thanks.
Craig Palmer “Energy”
overbrook high along with kansas and both the 76ers and warriors had the prime versions of wilt chamberlain while the primes for bill russell were in his high school years all the way up through the 1968 playoffs
the best teams ever are #1 tied the first ten celtics championship teams and #2 the 1967 76ers led by the prime versions of both goats being bill russell and wilt chamberlain
Much Gratitude
Sad what happened with Charlie Swift.Good announcer!
Lov it i was born in 1971 kev scg
The cutoff play of McBride to Trillo to Boone in the Astros series is absolute baseball execution perfection
This was probably Wilt's 2 most important games in his memory. I can only imagine his emotions, after all those close losses to the Celtics, to finally beat them decisively.
Pete Rose is the man you could thank
