Depends on where you live but most places. if a tent is allowed its limited to ST camping or 6 months while you build a home. How are so many people getting around zoning?

Curious about a few things it cannot legal be considered a dwelling but you made a comment about a bed fitting in it if you were going to use it as a "warm shed" could you legally use it as a crash spot for a weekend hunting?

I'm the designer and manufacturer of the Thinktank waterless toilet. Nice video, but you are not operating it correctly. The trap door will open fully and stay in the open position if you pull the trap door arm forward prior to closing the seat. It works much better! The fans are about 1 watt.

Just take out the wiring and it's a great primitive wilderness cabin, much sturdier than a tent but still likely roughing it. Also, I thought that Canada used the metric system.

Old carpenter here and in the process of building a similar system when I found your video. Not to be critical but you didn't insulate the rim joists. Granted it's only an 1 1/2" but it allows for thermal transfer into the void under the subfloor. Cutting a piece of rigid at 5 1/2" and placing it on edge before filling the cavity would eliminate that.

These are very nice, really well finished. Hope you sell a bunch of them.

I use a incinerating toilet that boils and chars the human waste and then sucked out with a wand attached to a vacuum. This toilet is vented with a small fan on a timer along with a timer for the electric burner which provides the incineration. Water is supplied with a 1/2 inch PEX via inside a transit 1.5 inch ABS pipe with a eves deicing wire on a thermostat to keep it from freezing. Grey water is pumped from the fixtures to a macerating pump to a cattle trough heated insulated 1000 liter tote. The pump can also be used to drain a tote and divert the grey water to empty into a truck mounted water tank which will take the grey water to a designated farm land for fertilizer. Bio degradable detergents are highly recommended. Some what like a trailer with grey water but able to empty out only twice a year or less because it's temporary housing for one or two persons. For company staying for short spells.

36x16? The municipalities are really stuck from another generation of building. They need to get their departments ( building/ environment/administration/ county/ provincial etc/ all internet interfaced WITH EACH OTHER .. so the tax payer doesn’thave to go all over kingdom come to get the information they need. So much of the time they are not even in the office since Covid , which is really frustrating. They are the nicest people you will ever meet and they know their stuff. The fees for these “permits” are really usurious too.

What about number of outbuildings. Ie. If you already have a detached garage or carport. Can I add a shed or multiple sheds? I suspect this might come down to the size of the lot. A want a shed and a bunkie.
