@@maribelcruz6636 good question- I have sick days incorporated into my contract. When you get sick, it’s unpredictable so that is the only time daycare would be closed with a short notice.

It takes time especially now with lots of options for parents. You have to develop a niche on what makes your family childcare unique and market that to local families.

Thank you for watching and good eye. I understand your standpoint about mixing chemicals. If you noticed, in the beginning I used Clorox in a jug by itself. And after lunch, I used Clorox in a spray bottle followed by a plant based cleaning product. The Clorox in the spray bottle is significantly less concentrated than the Clorox in the jug thus preventing chemical reactions. Also, we have fresh air circulating in addition to an air purifier in the center. I do agree that there are more eco friendly products to use but with my experience, nothing beats germs more than Clorox.

Good question! With our strict illness policy, we all have a responsibility and part in keeping our center and children healthy. With having no symptoms in the center, it minimizes the risk of contagion and thus keeps children from getting sick so often. In our case, kids do get sick but instead of being sick once every 3/4 weeks, our children might be sick 2/3 times per year (and thats our normal).

@@Beyondthedaycare unfortunately, no. tuition covers a child’s spot; it is not based on attendance.

Stating that we are not washing our hands and sanitizing properly. They also said that we should consider getting an isolation room to accommodate sick children. They are losing money.

@@MyDaycareCoach The family is claiming that we are the reason why the children are sick because staff it’s practicing proper hygiene such as washing their hands after dealing with other children. We are not cleaning and sanitizing the daycare well enough. We go above and beyond when it comes to cleaning and sanitizing the space. Staff wash their hands frequently and the children wash their hands before every meal. They want me to make exceptions for children with mild illnesses and have an isolation room. Having an isolation room requires extra staff and I will only consider having one in the future when we get a center for children who are awaiting pickup. Not to be there all day long.
