Adding texture to my diorama | Building Lizardmansion - Episode 2
In the second episode of the Good Mood's new series, we see the vision described in the first episode begin to take physical shape. And I do mean begin. Anyone hoping to see this diorama anywhere near completion will be sorely disappointed. There is minimal hobbying in the video, and important footage showing how the methods described are actually applied to the diorama is absent. This results in a confusing path from what are described as "the foundations" of the diorama at the start of the video to its completed footprint at the end. Moreover, the tips for adding texture to the diorama amount to purchasing overpriced products rather than using real ingenuity. The one method that is creative, involving extracting distinct elements from a larger design on a textured rolling pin, is poorly explained and, bizarrely, discouraged by the host.
Two and a half stars.

Good Mood Performance Review
Переглядів 912 роки тому
State-of-the-channel UA-cam videos, often posted around the time of the new year, are the height of self indulgence. All the more so in the case of channel with no viewership. This is one of the those. In this attempt, we see old stereotypes about workplace relations lazily offered as a scaffold for boring facts about the previous year's output and unambitious goals for the future. 2 stars.
Building Lizardmansion | Episode 1: The Vision
Переглядів 622 роки тому
In this video, the Good Dude describes a large hobby project. Despite selling itself as a hobby video, there is very little hobby*ing* in this video. Instead, the viewer is subjected to irritating and self-indulgent shots of the presenter's face. These are accompanied by the dull and poorly mixed recordings of the presenter's voice. The project itself is somewhat interesting. It has a clear, th...
Coronavirus Returns!: Finally Painting the Coronaman

In this thrilling sequel to one of the Good Mood's most viewed videos of 2020, the Good Dude finds himself in lockdown along with many on Australia's eastern region. In this story of a once-young man overcoming adversity, a project that has lain dormant for one year is given life. Paint is applied to brush, and brush touches miniature. So too has the Coronaman touched our lives and hearts, leav...

Green Stuff World vs AK Interactive: Paper plant comparison
Переглядів 4,6 тис.3 роки тому
In this video, I compare the new Green Stuff World paper plants to some AK Interactive paper plants. My final thoughts: I think the AKI ones look more realistic, but I find them more difficult to work with because they are thinner and more delicate. Although I was initially worried about using paints that were too thin because I thought they might damage the paper, I was confident enough to use...

make snakes , then wrap that around wire such as a paperclip. then reroll. You now have a strong cord that is supportive and can be bent once the green stuff has set. Greenstuff is better than milliput for cables as it hardens with enough flex it can still be bent, where as milliput has no flex and is brittle.

Arnt the tenticle ones too fragile even if they harden? They are quite thin. Before watching this i was thinking of using metal rod and bending it but couldnt think of a way to get the ridges

    • @TheGoodMood
      @TheGoodMood Рік тому

Green stuff remains a little flexible once it cures, so I've not found it to be too fragile. Still, if you prefer to use metal, then guitar wire is a good choice as it has the ridged texture (depending on the gauge of the string).

Yeah, Nivea creme is pretty much the best lubricant for sculpting because it's mostly water but has the properties of something like vaseline. So long as you're not immediately painting after applying it, you pretty much don't need to clean it at all as it evaporates pretty rapidly. I like it a lot for that reason.

Yes, I was brought up to really value teaching and learning, so I'm trying to dig into the relevant resources a bit more and share what I think are the fun parts.
