In this video, Turner Prize and Academy Award winning director Sir Steve McQueen is interviewed by six students from the Creative Futures Academy: Faith Nolan (MA Writing for Stage & Screen, UCD), Gráinne Johnston (BA Music, Film & Drama, UCD), Karen Varela (MA Film Directing, IADT), Judit Csobod (PhD Music, UCD), Rik Higashikawa (MA Art in the Contemporary World, NCAD) and Fyn Bullard-Roche (BA Creative & Cultural Industries, UCD). The discussion ranges from McQueen's approach to the film set, his engagement with true stories, his multidisciplinary expertise, his use of music, his consideration of the audience and his interest in social change. The event is chaired by Dr Nicolas Pillai, UCD's Creative Futures Academy academic lead. The conversation took place on Wednesday 28 February 2024, in UCD's new Trapdoor Theatre.
