Rebecca Schaeffer was born in Eugene, Oregon on November 6, 1967 to parents Benson and Danna Schaeffer. She was a model and actress of television and films. Starred in the eighties comedy series 'My Sister Sam' opposite Pam Dawber. Killed in the doorway of her Los Angeles apartment on July 18, 1989 by an obsessed fan. Laid to rest at the Ahavai Sholom Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.

That was a beautiful memorial to a beautiful 👩 woman. The music is very beautiful. I pray that GOD who is the hearer of prayer strengthen and comfort her family. Please read Acts 24:15. GOD does not lie. in fact it's impossible for GOD to lie.
This still makes me so sad. She only was able to live a quarter of her life because of this senseless act. Imagine what she missed and what all of us missed by losing her and her wonderful talent.

I always thought "My Sister Sam" was cancelled because she was killed not because the ratings were down.
Nope, they moved time slot and it couldn’t compete with the Facts of Life as I understand. To be completely honest, I was 11 and 12 when this show was on, and although I watched a lot of TV sitcoms at the time, i do not remember this showing w My Sister Sam at all.
Then What?
No, the show was cancelled at least a year before her murder. I was like 24, I remember.
A radiantly beautiful young lady, both inside & out…as Shakespeare penned in “Romeo & Juliet:” “O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!” We are fortunate she left us her gifts of acting in her numerous performances. Rebecca Schaeffer may be gone, but she is never forgotten. 🙏🏻❤️🌷

I would like to pay my respect for Rebecca Schaeffer in Oregon and the apartment where she got murdered.
I’m glad her killer’s name has not been mentioned here. He was nothing to her, she didn’t know he existed. He came out of nowhere and took her life away. There shouldn’t be a connection between everything she was and anything he was. She had so much to live for and so much yet to do. All she could scream out was ‘why? Why?’a question that has no answer. It’s so sad
She was too kind to realize she needed to protect herself, not have her name on her mail box and stay private like Pam Dauber told her to do so.

Can we put to rest once and for all this myth that her killer got her address from the DMV. He hired a private investigator who got it using the DMV records, and the DLPPA would not have stopped from happening.

@@mjp96 You'd be surprised how many people don't, especially politicians who cite the case as an excuse for restricting access to public records. The DLPPA was practically built on that canard.
I just love the pictures with Rebeccas mom and Rebecca as a toddler 😊 She was a sweet little girl and she became a pretty young lady I can see and feel the strong connection between Rebecca and her parents I hope they'll see each other in afterlife Rest in peace Rebecca

I taught Rebecca art history ,while she was in school when she was living in New York. She was one of those students that you could never forget. Beautiful person with a wonderful spirit.

And yet still I was stalked...there but for the grace of God go i... RIP angel, and know that as senseless as this all was, it did change the world... You changed the world... It was cancelled but they were playing unaired episodes on USA network, and had talked about making more

So true. About a week before this, a friend's daughter that had left Eugene, Oregon to strike out on her own in California was killed in a car accident. Brought back home to lay in rest. She was only 19.
What a well done Memoriam. I remember this and am thankful that something good came out of it. There is no doubt that countless innocent lives have been saved. Rest in Peace and not forgotten.
He could have killed Deby Gibson or Tiffany or Madonna. But he chose Rebecca, becoz she was easily accessible. She never had any security or body guards. She was living a quite and simple life. I hear Rebecca Schaeffer was often very trusting of people in general. Pam Dawber had told her to never put her name on her mailbox or where others could find out.
