In the actual Zooptoia franchise, Nick had already long since met Judy's family maybe he met Judy's parents offscreen in the first movie before Nick, Judy and Judy's parents Bonnie and Stu attended Gazelle's concert and Judy's parents got along with Nick just fine and Zooptoia 2 is going show Bonnie and Stu being friends with Nick as if they already met him long ago same goes for Judy with Nick's mother.

At first, I was thinking, maybe Judy should be Sherlock because she has the determination for crime solving. But the more I thought about it, Nick does have a lot of Sherlock's slyness and intelligence. He is more of the schemer, while Judy brings him down to earth, much like Watson.
