Smoke Warthog Ribs. The best way to eat your ribs
Ingredients:
1kg Warthog Ribs
2x Medium size Onions
2x Gloves of Garlic (Crushed)
1x Tablespoon of Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste
Method:
Take your 2 medium size onions and slice them up. Take the 2 gloves of garlic and crush them. Take your braai pan and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Take your basting brush and brush the service of the braai pan with the olive oil. Pack the onions on the braai pan to cover the surface of the ribs. Add the crushed garlic onto the onions. Add salt and pepper to taste onto the onions. Add the ribs onto the onions and add onto the ribs salt and pepper to taste. Get your braai up to 120 degrees Celsius of heat and add the braai pan onto your braai. Before I added the braai pan, I did add hickory smoking chunks to the braai. Turn the ribs around every hour. Leave the ribs to braai on the onions. After the ribs is on the braai for 4 hours stir the onions under the ribs. After you stirred the onions, add the ribs back onto the onions. After the ribs was on the braai for 5 hours remove, cut, and serve with the onions.

    Is it something about that type of smoker or did you forget to rest the meat so it retains its juices better? I use an offset smoker and I've found the resting to be crucial. Also wrapping the meat in butcher paper the last couple of hours had great results.

    • @JoburgBraai
      @JoburgBraai Рік тому

      If you look closely I did let the meat rest I use the Lekka Hot Pot that keep your food warm for up to 4 hours. The Lekka hot pot is perfect for resting your food. So I agree you must let the meat rest
