Nikon FG Instructional Video Tape
Переглядів 33 тис.8 років тому
This VHS tape was included with purchase of Nikon FG that I purchased at Consumer Electronics or Best (not Best Buy) in 1985. Video is good for explaining Depth of field and how aperture f-stops, shutter speeds and ISO work.

In Hindsight, Nikon's Series E Lens were very Good Lenses, however ever at the time, they were snubbed by a lot Nikon Owners because of a bit of Plastic(as in the Aperture Control Ring). Often a 3rd Party Lens was bought instead which, was actually a Poorer Lens than the Series E offering.

It's amazing! It describes all the features of the camera, and by the way teaches you to make better photos. Like an youtube tutoriral from the 80ths. So nice!
How do you get it to smoke like that
Thanks for sharing this video. Handy information. Just love these old time vids.
What's 'video tape'? 😳😲⚠️
I love how the sun make sparkles off the chrome everywhere.
Hey i just bought this cam
imagine watching this in 2023
Guilty lol
I think hes being honest. Hes never seen anything like this before (fake attack) and his colleagues were professional.
nice
Just found my father's old FG camera and I'm not learning how to shoot on film instead of digital! It is a really nice experience !
0:53....LMAO, we hear it coming round the bend! Still Laughing my ass off!
That does looks pregnant.
Beautiful scenery and thanks for the share.
Thank you for this, saved me reading the manual.
10:36 that looks good but man that didn't age well
Such a stupid ass video...
La mina algo habrá hecho para que la golpeen.
I know this area gear video
Yeah ok 😂
I m a Nikonaholc and have over 2 dozen Nikon SLR's with the FG being a favotite. It does everything well in a compact camera.
You are an angel! thanks for this
fix that valvetrain
I think California really needs to quit smoking... ua-cam.com/video/Mbp5SDtBl1E/v-deo.html
I just bought a Nikon FG-20 from an older woman who due to medical issues had no use for the camera. It's in mint condition and I hope I do it justice. It's a beautiful camera.
hahah
The FG goes hugely underappreciated, probably because it was introduced after the successful but basic point-n-shoot EM and replace after a few years by the FG-20, which was a huge reductution of capability and features. (The FG was intolerably eating into sales of the upscale Nikon bodies..) Apart from having nearly every feature of a competing SLR in the early 1980s, it offered a level of features and convenience simply not available on any other Nikon camera of the day. Little known is that the FG was a test-bed to prototype much of the metering system insalled in the Nikon FA about 18 months later. (The FG does not have matrix metering, but it has all of the other features of the FA metering and control systems.) At present pricing in the range of $75 for a good condition model, it is a huge bargain. I bought one many years ago, but sold it because I was more attached to my FE2 and didn't need both. I bought another one a few years ago as a backup.
Update..missed the FG so much I picked up another one in 'excellent plus' condition. Although I'm used to 'full manual only' exposure setting film SLR's; the choice of exposure setting modes, and the off-the-film TTL flash metering capability with compatible flash units makes for a very handy and capable film SLR.
Wow this video is a great UA-cam find. I bought my wife an FG with Nikon Nikkor 35-70 zoom lens and Nikon SB-15 flash unit for a Christmas present in 1985. She took an interest in photography but didn't want to have to fool around all the time with manual exposure setting; the manual/aperture priority auto/full program auto exposure modes along with off-the-film TTL flash metering capability with the SB-15 flash unit was the perfect camera outfit for her; she took many great photographs with hers. Passed on the outfit to my granddaughter three years ago; so it lives on.

GREAT cache !!
Picked up an clean FG with the 50mm 1.8 E series for $20. What a fun little camera. I have a D5600 but find myself using this little gem allot.
All these years and I never knew that it had ttl metering for the flash !!
Jesus why the hell are they even driving it when it's running like that? Sounds like they fuckin let it run dry on oil
This was very useful since I have two FG's but had no idea how to use them.
I know that the natural tendency for most older Americans is to call these Imperials "Chryslers", but, in reality, they are NOT. Because, in 1955, two years BEFORE this car was built, The Chrysler Corporation REMOVED the majestic IMPERIAL away from the Chrysler Division , and registered it as it's OWN MAKE and DIVISION. From that point on, IMPERIAL was no longer a Chrysler. The "Chrysler" name was no longer on the car...nor was it VIN'ed as a Chrysler. It was simply *IMPERIAL* . And, as a new make/brand, IMPERIAL received it's OWN models: THE CUSTOM, THE CROWN, AND THE LE BARON (not to be confused with the later, cheaper Chrysler Lebaron. These Imperial models all bore a "Y" in the "make'' section of their Vehicle Identification Numbers, designating them as IMPERIALS instead of the "C" make codes that all Chrysler models bore. (New Yorker, 300, Saratoga, Windsor, etc.) Here's more... 1) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperial_(automobile)#First_generation_(1955%E2%80%931956):_A_separate_make 2) ua-cam.com/video/DtyG9jQ1Ydc/v-deo.html 3) ua-cam.com/video/GA51okFc33U/v-deo.html 4 automuseumonline.com/the-1955-imperial-specs-and-photos.html
thank you for uploading this! i just got given this camera by my father and didn’t know how to use it and i learnt so much from this video 😅 so cool to watch the actual video released with the camera!
Very nice, and incredibly helpful, thanks. Man, I love these classic instructional videos - I was still in high school then, and just got my first FG last week. Am shooting Ilford's XP2 400, and can't wait to see the outcomes.
I love that what you see in the camera is a girl in a bikini. The 80s ruled!
I got one of these for $2 with a 50mm 1.8, a 70-210mm, and a 2x teleconverter. I was at first excited about using the vintage lenses on my Canon dslr, but I'm now excited to get batteries for the nikon and use it! It even came with some film and a flash.
Find some LR-44 batteries. They are available at walgreens or online. GREAT CAMERA !!!
Alex Levy yeah I shot my first roll last weekend and need to get it developed
Thank You for the video! FG isn't as respectable as F3 - F5, but all the way it is really good, convenient and cheap Nikon. I have it now and sometimes I use it: despite the digital age came, I like film photography . Greetings from Kharkiv, Ukraine.
Great camera! Use it as my main device. Greetings from Odessa , Ukraine 😊
lifters are clackin like crazy, I hope he cleaned the lifter shaft out good, that's the main oiling on the top end for these engines, I know , I race them .
