She does landscaping and gardening for her very large compound (3 houses). I sit on my tush waiting for the Brazilian Government to process my Permanent Residency by Spouse Visa, so I can return to the USA and get my UA-cam gear to start my UA-cam channel.😎

Suggestions: I ran across a few "End of Lakeforest Mall" video's. A video on Shopping and Entertainment in Montgomery County now that Lakeforest is gone would be cool.😎

Thanks for the comment! Sorry that you don't have good experiences when visiting. What area(s) do you typically come through? Montgomery County is also the most populous county in MD, so you're likely to hear about happenings in MoCo more than other places. That said, while average household incomes may be high, so is cost of living. I think it all comes down to what people are looking for and what they prioritize. The county has its appeal, especially when people are coming to the area blind and basing moving and housing decisions on "rankings" and "top __ lists," but there's so much more than that, and we love it when we can help people think outside the box and find a place that fits their needs. : ) It's sad when people think that all the Baltimore area has to offer is what they saw on the Wire when it has some of the coolest spots to visit and enjoy for both people with kids and without.

@@hawthomes I grew up in the Baltimore area. Bel Air and Timonium most of my life. 2 years ago i moved to Southern York county PA. I worked Logistics for a few years which had me doing deliveries all over MD and southern PA. Montgomery County and Annapolis always stood out to me as people being extra rude. Dont get me wrong not everyone from Montgomery is rude, but the average demeanor compared to the rest of the Baltimore area was very snobby. Even tho the homes were way nicer. It could be that I got use to living in a friendly enviorment, so the attitude of Montgomery area might come off to me as rude maybe because I'm use to people being a little more friendlier. For retrospect, I use to think Maryland was a very friendly state... Until I traveled West and South of Maryland and noticed the average demeanor being friendlier. But if i never left the state of MD, I would think its friendly

@@chroylikesfish Wow, sorry that you had to go through that! Part of it may be an entitlement mindset, but I think the larger issue is the generally fast-paced life. Work and life move very quickly in the area, and people get used to being blunt and direct for the sake of efficiency and at the sacrifice of manners and pleasantries. Sure, many people here do have objectively very important jobs, but that doesn't mean that they're so important that they can completely disrespect hard-working service providers!

Thanks! It depends on what you're looking for. Leisure World has some of the lowest prices on average in Montgomery County but is a 55+ community. There are a few condos in Rockville that are under $200k and townhouses in Germantown that are in the low $200ks and sometimes sell for under $200k. On average, Montgomery Village also tends to have some of the lowest average home prices. Did you want to see a list of homes for sale under a particular price point?

Wow, sounds like quite a story and ordeal you went through! Care to share more? I've been fortunate to have a better experience. One of our clients had squatters in their vacant home as they were preparing the list it for sale. The Montgomery County Police Department's non-emergency line was able to assist in vacating the home quickly that same night. This isn't specifically directed at you but rather some people who might be in a similar situation that could use some resources: Maryland does have squatter's rights. Without being licensed, the county will not do anything to help evict a tenant who has broken their lease. So glad you asked! Tacos: In town, there's Tortacos. It's long been our #2 place for Tacos, only behind Ixtapalapa which is just outside of Germantown over in Gaithersburg (the parking isn't great, but the food is worth it!). Taco Bar over at the Rio Washingtonian is also worth experiencing at least once. It's literally inside a gas station liquor store, but quite good! Korean Fried Chicken: CM Chicken (AKA Choong Man Chicken) is right by the Korean grocery store (Lotte Mart) and is our favorite place in town. There's also Bonchon, but we always found it to be unremarkable. If you're willing to venture over to Rockville, there's bb.q Chicken which is a popular chain in Korea (and is featured in a lot of K-Dramas).

The short answer, like many in real estate is: "It depends." If Zillow is the brokerage selling the house, they have to abide by state and federal regulations. However, most of the homes on Zillow are listed through other brokerages (who also have to follow these same rules); they're simply syndicating all of the active listings that a real estate agent could send you. A local real estate agent would have access to homes that are about to hit the market in addition to any disclosures that the Seller has filled out (if any). What state(s) are you interested in? I broke my favorite watch that night by hitting it by accident with a golf club. I also played topgolf a few times in Myrtle Beach, SC. I'm from North Carolina.

Demand is very high for rentals both short term and long term, so inventory tends not to sit on the market long and inflates prices.

Great question! Weather is all over the place in the area. While it's typical to get some snow every winter, the amount depends from season to season. Some years, we'll just have a few days of accumulation while other years, there's a lot of accumulation. However, unlike snowier states like PA, NY, and above, the infrastructure typically isn't as robust for handling large snow storms unless there's plenty of advance notice. The more remote the location/further from DC, the longer you can expect to wait before you get plowed unless you have a local HOA or group that comes with their own trucks + plows. Are you looking to relocate to the area?

Your neighborhood must have great investment potential! That's a good thing in the sense that someone has seen the area as having value and high demand. Definitely annoying though, especially when you have no plans of selling.

That sounds so stressful! It can get a bit confusing because there's a comingling of agent listed, landlord listed, and professionally managed homes without much clarification for the average consumer. And yes, scams do exist unfortunately. That said, it's not unusual for landlords/property managers to request application fees to process background and credit checks, though usually, you'll be able to at least tour a property if you meet their verbal qualifications. Did you ever end up finding a home?

@@hawthomes Fake landlords are using cashapp to defraud people. Per Cashapp - their app is NOT MEANT TO SEND MONEY TO STRANGERS. Now that I have that out the way. The answer is no. I did not tour the property. The entire thing with sending money to people I had never met via cashapp was too weird. They would only use cashapp. I offered a cashiers check etc to make sure the payment was traceable. They said no. I dont send money via cash app to people that I really dont know. Just voices on the other end of the phone. It's too many people hustling now and that's too easy for them to steal. Anyone can scrub a picture from the internet and post it on zillow and claim to be an owner or landlord.
