Is this last video I cover what vacuum leaks can cause and things they don't cause. Some dos and don'ts with base idle resets. This should give a better understanding about whats actually happening and how to correct it.

This is part one of a series on Mustang hanging idle, high idle. This is a common issue that isn't fixed very often without tuning. My goal is to teach how to pinpoint and resolve the issue. Tuning it out is the last resort. The two example calibrations used are the 2003/4 Mach 1 and the Foxbody A9L.
94-95 Mustang Poor Idle, Fuel trims, Adaptive learning?
Переглядів 197Місяць тому
The video is intended to help people see how the computer responds to certain issues. When the car came in it was in an undrivable, untunable state. It was repaired and tuned. The owner is happy that he didn't need to do a carb swap after all. All caused by an exhaust leak that couldn't be heard. Split trims are the most common problem I see.

SN95 Cooling Fan CFM Flow Test
Переглядів 265Рік тому
Finally we have an accurate answer. You decide if this fan is good enough for your application. This fan was tested on high using a fully charged battery with a charger on 25 amps running. Note: If comparing, cheap fans with high CFM ratings produce low torque and drop off quickly once the static pressure/water column rises.

How does the throttle body adjustment screw, not the throttle body blade screw, play into this? Or does it?
I like to run the bleed screw all the way down and back out one turn. It can change the duty cycle also.
Does type of MAF matter? IE PROM 75 tube v 77?
It doesn't matter. Its a harness issue. Resistance in the signal wire creates a delay. Pro-M Mafs are usually good.
Looking forward to more videos like this Ted. Especially the 94-95 tuning stuff which is hard to find
I enjoy the insight

I just purchased one of these where would you connect the trigger wire.
Once it arrives I'll go over how to connect the trigger.
Man thank you so much just took air out of new radiator and wired your setup before... Worked like a charm... Highly recommend this setup
@@carlosfoster8143 You're welcome
Great fans. Keep my C6 corvette cool.
Hey Ted. Good video. I probably watched this video 5 times since posting it. Any chance to see a CCRM delete setup with better relays and wiring?
Thanks, let me see what I can put together.
When I went from a stock ecu to a terminator x my 6.0 ls idles rough like it has a miss but smooth out at around 1500 rpm.It didn't idle rough with the stock ecu.Is this normal?
It does happen sometime.
I can take a look if you want.
Dad, I'm so proud of you!
Thanks Heather. I love you.
The way you spoke about when you put a 2 or 3 core radiator and a condenser coil in front of this fan it renders it about useless scares me! Am i reading what you said wrong ? I bought a couple of these Contour fans at the pick and pull to have a fan and a backup spare more than a few years ago as a project to add electric fans to my '70 Javelin. Forum members raved about how they fit the radiator so well. After watching your video im thinking that i might be wasting my time and would be better off just leaving the mechanical flex fan alone and forgetting ever installing an electric fan. You spoke of a part 2 where your going to install the fans and try them out...i suppose its a little too cool to get a good impression until the summer heat comes back? Thanks for time, appreciate the video! Here's a video i found later pertaining to flow through core obstructions pretty interesting. ua-cam.com/video/sNW2tS6bljc/v-deo.htmlsi=KtwzQxNRhyeEG_Cp
2 rows work fine. I recommend a 2 row with large tubes, 1-1 1/2" Those allow good flow with less restriction. In that video he used wind speed instead or CFM. CFM with the tool calibrated to the fan size is a more accurate measurement.
I have a 2 core brass and copper radiator now with a 3 core brass new in the box . I guess less is more and sometimes going to a thicker radiator is actually going backwards even with a mechanical fan if it can't pull enough air through the restriction. How do you think the Contour set-up would compare to the original mechanical 18" 5 blade flex fan that came original on being able to cool in extreme heat of summer in stop and go or traffic situations? Everyone always seems to strive for the thermostat temp. of 180 or 195 no matter how hot it gets outside and thinks they have a problem if they can't maintain it in all situations, but like you discussed that higher temps are ok and even benefical up to about 240 ?? on burning condensation from the oil. What temp thermostat do you run and recommend and at what temperature do you get nervous when in a hot stop and go situation? Thank you for your reply and i hope you still have plans to try out the Contour fans and maybe make a report of how they did. I'm Still learning which is always good thanks for your time! 😊
Thank you so much Ted! The etc sensor looks larger than the gauge sensor are they both 3/8?
You're welcome. Both are 3/8" NPT. The port that the black tubes screw into is 1/2" NPT.
Ted one other question heater core has a 3/4 and 5/8. Looks like will end up reversing the flow in the heater core (Water pump is 3/4 and new adapter is 5/8), assume that does not matter? Thanks again
I use 3/4 and 5/8. It will tighten down fine on the heater core. @@keithjones7674
Hey Ted. Always great vids. Where would I trigger off of to run the really at the lower temp? Or would I need my chip updated first?
I use the old fan power wires as triggers. Just depends on what you're doing. It can be done with tuning also.
@@tuninginnovations5481 sweet. If I wanted to bypass ccrm completely and just run a relay setup I can trigger off the ecu low fan output correct? What wire gauge and fuse are you using? If you don’t mind me asking. I did some research for amperage and stuff. Would I need to use 6 gauge wire and a 50 amp fuse? Speaking longevity wise
Seems like you could run a ground side switch and turn the high fan on. I used to have a book on SN95 5.0 upgrades and that’s how they instructed to do it. But that was 15 years ago. I have been out of the game for 15 years but did that on my cobra 95 back in the day.
Really liked watching this comparison videos. There is a lack of good videos explaining the 94-95 cbaza. Leech started with the gufx stuff but that came to a end after Matt stopped.
Thanks for watching and I'll be doing more. Any subject that you suggest as far as tuning?
@@tuninginnovations5481 probably the recommended changes to get a cbaza t4m0 to behave better. Ive read alot on EFIDYNOTUNING and Decipha has some good startup files like T4M2 with simplified tuning settings and mechanical idle.
Good vid !
Thank you. Part 2 is being edited. Thanks for commenting.
this is a really good set up ....for AC at low speeds.....if you want to increase the efficiency more you can switch to R152a Refrigerant ( computer duster s pray at 60% of the R134a weight added......30% less power draw ..can barely hear the compressor kick in ... Jay.
I may try the HFC 152a sometime. I can't remember if it is an A1 or A2 flammability.
@@tuninginnovations5481 in the real world it does not matter....think about it .....people spray their computer keyboard while smoking cigarette's at their home .. my one experiment now is over 3 years...runs and cools a 01 Olds Alero perfect.....can't hear the compressor even kick in .... 15% more efficient that R12 at idle and about the same at highway speeds.. spent a billion hours looking at alternant refrigerants ever since my boss told me in 1998 that Propane is an excellent refrigerant ..cheers : ) Jay.

Nice job. I had to de-solder the original battery and solder in a new one on my QH last year. I should probably get one of these battery trays.
Thanks. I have do a few of those too. Its easy to damage the board while changing the old type.
Anther question is where would we put overflow bottle?
Most people mount one of the slim tanks on the shroud. LMR put one in their Foxbody/Contour fan kit. The CCRM can be relocated to several other spots also.
One I get mine installed I'll do a part 2 with the overflow in place.
Good info Ted! Thank you! So a few questions... Can this hook up in the stock wiring for 94&95? And is it a soft start? Also do we hook up so both start at same time? I'm really considering doing this and just moving the ABS forward 1/2 inch
You're welcome. It can be wired using the 94/95 hi/low. Contour used pretty much the same system. Its not exactly softstart but if you use hi/low and the resister it would start on half speed. It doesn't draw any more amps than the 94/95 fan does anyway so it shouldn't cause any problems even starting on both fans at full speed. I'm just going to delete the ABS myself.
Good info, Ted.
I believe that one will do a good job.
Wish my car sounded like that at idle 😂
Thanks for your comment

Are you considering making a wire kit, with detailed instructions, for the 340 application? I am an automotive electrical idiot and need all the help I can get. I have your fuel lines and the install went great!
Hi, I'll build you one and walk you through the setup. I doubt I'll be offering them as a regular product due to the time involved in building them. I remember that you bought fuel hoses. Send me a PM please.
My battery is in the trunk. Any issues using the factory wire as a trigger for the relay in the trunk? Ive heard of some tuners recommending this method. Also whats the best method to connect the new wire to the stock hanger connection?
Factory pump wire makes a perfect trigger. Aeromotive makes a hanger with stud/nut connector posts but you may be able to keep the OE hanger.
This just happened on my aeromotive 340 yesterday on a boosted 95. As the gar moved to WOT, fuel pressure dropped versus increasing with boost. This wasn't an issue until I increased boost and added larger heads. On a boosted car, that pump won't support 400HP without new wiring. Great video
The 340 with proper wiring supports 750 hp with boost, 650 with boost and E85. You have a serious voltage drop over 36' of 14ga cable. Mount a relay in the trunk and step up the wire size. Trigger the relay with your old pump wire, inertia switch will still work and everything will operate as factory. Do that and fuel supply won't be and issue again.
Hey Ted let me be the first to comment on your vid brother. I’m in the process of putting a 340 on mine, can I run that fuel pump harness on my car without a holly ?
Sure can. Just run the larger wire straight off the battery and trigger the relay with you existing OE fuel pump wire. Thanks for the question.
Ted, do you know if it still shuts the fans off above 45mph when the A/C is on?
Yes. 45 MPH wind speed through the radiator is more than the fan can produce.
You say in the video that you make the wiring harness, do you sell them and if so how much is it for one? I would like to purchase one for my 94 cobra running a terminator x
