this is huge george clinton and thundercat they produced almost everything. Thundercat is like Midas for music everything he touches turns to gold. There are a lot of samples on TPAB but real music and original production dominates the whole thing. Check it out.

I love the idea of him dipping flat because he wanted to let you know he's in pain! However, it is more likely that in the early 90's the monitors weren't that great, and he probably couldn't hear that he was flat. Second however, I'm going with your theory because I love Layne. And yes, three instruments can make huge sound, especially when you have legends behind them.

What is their technical musical background? Likely little to none. They are he, and he either made the beat himself and thought it sounded cool, or a friend made the beat. They probably used a drum machine, some turntables for samples, maybe a computer at that time. I would be stunned if they had any idea what you guys are talking about technically back when they made this

Bro, I've watched a ton of Tech reactions, especially this song. At no point in time has anyone, EVER, stopped it in the middle of the song to point out how he looks like Cheech. That's hilarious. Funny part about the guy saying "I would use that part of my name as a rap name -- Duckworth" is that there is already a rapper named Duckwrth (w/o the O) lol. He's also really really dope to listen to as a rapper who leans more towards contemporary eclectic sounds. Highly recommend his newest album "Chrome Bull."

Great review, yeah ive loved this band since this album came out in 98'. im also a drummer and the drums are what i love about these tunes and i agree with you Sully Erna is thee best drummer in Godsmack. Shannon is pretty damn good he can play anything Sully can play but it all comes from the mind of Sully Erna.

Tooo much focus on the instruments and shallow observations from guy on the left. Like, I understand the fascination, but would’ve been nice to know what thoughts were about the actual lyrics and overall vibes. Some channels fall way too far into technicality and it becomes detached and kind of boring… like watching an a.i describe what having a soul is like.

18:07 welp... some hip hop artists aren't writing their own stuff. That's the blurring line. And boy is it more blurred now than ever. Before AI, star rappers were secretly using ghostwriters and... probably more common in rap than poetry because of the financial returns for dozens of people including the artist, labels, producers, etc... so there's a tone of inauthentic crap out there in hiphop that could never pass as poetry even if the the artist claiming it actually wrote it. That line is definitely ever-blurring.

Kind of late, but the change in keys was probably done on purpose to break your attention and think about the verses and words or grab your attention for the next words coming. This guy is very smart and does everything with a reason behind it. I grew up listening to this guy, this took place in the 90s a different time from now where this happened all the time. And it did happen but not him, he knew the guys and they all died so he made the song. I've been to his projects. Now it's wayyy different. But yea it was hilarious how your expressions changed when it got real. Lol

as someone in their teens when Wu-Tang came out, i didn't understand what was being sung either, but you know what, i wasn't so closed minded i couldnt appreciate the skill, the sound, absolutely brilliant, i own most of their albums, including the solos, with all that i grew up in the UK too.
