Isuzu Dmax in for the Body Mount Chop
Переглядів 1,1 тис.Рік тому
After 3 long years of horrendous steering with offset 305mm wide 33's I've found the time to modify the body mount bracket to bring back my turning circle. Was far easier than I expected should've done it sooner!
Finally fitting flares to the Dmax
Переглядів 490Рік тому
Today after years of having my wheels poke out of my wheel arches I've finally gotten around to fitting some flares to the fenders. Had some dramas with the fitment which I reckon is from the wheels hitting the guards from last time I had the ute airborne but as per usual the job gets done

Переглядів 2,7 тис.Рік тому
The Dmax ticked over 200,000kms recently and was due for replacing fluids. Keeping these oils fresh really pays off in the long run by keeping the components they lubricate from wearing out earlier. Thanks for watching!
Replacing Brake Shoes and Drums in the Dmax

Replacing a Prado Water pump
Переглядів 8 тис.2 роки тому
The Prado was leaking coolant from the tell tale hole in the water pump which means the pump's seal has failed. There is a lot of work to get to it compared to some water pumps but as always I managed to make it happen!

3" Suspension and New UCA's in the Dmax
Переглядів 2,6 тис.3 роки тому
After replacing an upper control arm with a hairline fracture that I welded up and drove around for a week, I replaced it with another stock one only to crack it in half so I ripped one off my dad's ute to get me out of trouble and couldn't get my hands on another stock replacement so to get dads ute running I decided I'd try the Ironman 4x4 UCA's because they were the only ones I could find in...
Cortina's Axle Surprise
Переглядів 553 роки тому
Last time a had the wheel off the Cortina a found the rear left wheel bearing to be loose and I knew the limited slip has been playing up so I decided to fix it only to find that Big Red is going to be in the shed for longer than I was hoping
Replacing Wheel Bearings in the Dmax
Переглядів 8 тис.3 роки тому
Dmax's wheel bearings have been seeming kind of sus recently. Last time I looked at them the grease was all grey but after checking it out it turned out the grey grease was coming from the CV. I still replaced the bearing and races for peace of mind because they have copped a beating over the years

Useful. Thanks mate, just replaced my brakes all round. The info about what to do if you pop the cylinders out was helpful as I did have that happen. I did find you could assemble the tensioner and spring then slip the the shoes in place. I had a fair bit of trouble getting the first one back together.

x2 on having the vehicle at ride height before fully tightening retaining bolts( either put a stand under the control arm or put the wheel back on and lower it to the ground)... if bolts are tightened with suspension "hanging", the bushes will over flex and possibly tear when you hit a bump on the road... if not just from lowering the vehicle to the ground and normal ride height. Another option with removing the inner bolts that are against the fuel tank is getting a reciprocating hacksaw and cut the head off the bolt and replacing it with the nut end against the fuel tank.

This is 100% do able. Me and a mate did it today. What old mate didn't show us all was the shitfight getting the bolt out and getting it back in. It actually went back in a heap easier than it came out. We had a hoist and workshop tools on hand which made it easier but only slightly.

shouldnt need to as long as you use a torque wrench to correct torque, i was always taught to tighten diagonally, thn go around a second time to re check. never re torqued days later, seems wrong, else tyre ships or mechanics shops would have to get customers to return days after working on their cars.
