I wasted too much time when I set the storm poles to close the door too much headache for trakker Rs 150
I've got this and don't rate it at all , used it once , gonna sell it
I’m a hide owner , I’m looking at solar compact . Thanks you’ve helped me choose my next Bivvy 👍🏻
Just bought the small one. As a bed for my dog 💪🏻😊. Maybe buy the xl later if I like it.
Great vid mate, I’m thinking of getting one to use additionally as an overwrap second skin, what are your thoughts ?
@@markharris7715 if you can get an overwrap for the Bivvy you have then I would just go with that as the tap is a bit of a pain putting up if there is any wind. But it will give you more coverage.
Can you fit a 750ml bottle of wine laying down in the 12L Coolabox? I mainly want something small, to take on roadtrips, and store any bottles of wine or beer, that we buy to take home.
@@josephsaldana9503 I don’t know sorry I don’t drink wine .
Ps .the XD is taller .
@@mb-xl5jg yes it’s in one of my other videos
@carpfishingthings-ny9go I also have the porch ,in which I have fitted my log burner!! I've been using that for 2 years now in the XD. It works great in there ,as I was using my log burner in my previous setup before that . Think I'm one of the first guys doing it , lol . Guys when I'm fishing, ask me all the time. Is that a log burner in your porch? lol . Think it's catching on . Well, good luck with your vids ,they are very enjoyable to watch. Thank you .
The XD comes with storm poles ,im surprised they dont supply with that one . The fox i better hands down . Cant beat it as its got the inner dome ,which i dint have to use and then you fit the other ground sheet ,which it comes with .hands down better.
Lost me when you had a mallet of the floor😂

Hi! I have already watched a few tent videos, for example Prologic Inspire SLR Bivvy, NASH TITAN HIDE CAMO PRO XL, TRAKKER TEMPEST RS. But this tent is still a little closer to me in terms of solutions. However, I noticed one thing with all the types, that they didn't put in a rain window that can be fixed with Velcro, or maybe it escaped my attention. in heavy rain, if you close everything because the rain comes in through the mosquito net, then we can no longer see what is going on outside, because we have to close ourselves and sit in a closet. how do you solve this? You made a good video. Best regards, Tibor
The frontier comes with 3 doors one is a clear door if you put this on inside of the solid door it will act as a window. The other two doors are solid which I have on in the video and the 3rd is a mozzie mesh door
Would you recommend it? How about the material quality, is it the money worth it? The hide is XL size?
It’s well made with a nice waterproof material but I wouldn’t recommend it , but it dose all depend on your own usage for it .
Is it not better for anglers that might not have a barrow
ive got the x plus and i cant fault it, like you ive tried loads of bivvys and ive stuck with this one, ive yet to put my extension, but great video
I live in the U.S. do you happen to know where I can purchase one ?
@@insomniac77carol sorry no, most places are out of stock at the moment
What they both weigh ?
@@andrewtate8303 the fox is 14kg and the Trakker is 16kg
Hi,maybe fox social cap can fitt on a trakker bivvy?
Trakker really do make good bivvies but, they are overpriced and once they bring out the "new one" it's impossible to get spares for your "old one" eg. I've had my tempest advanced 150 for 3 1/2 yrs and I can no longer get spare/ replacement poles for it. In stark contrast, earlier this year I managed to get a replacement pole direct from fox for my little royal classic bivvy that fox stopped making about 8-9 yrs ago Considering the prices that bivvies command these days it's an important part in the decision process that many overlook, yes it's designed to last years but how long will I be able to get spares just in case of accidents which can and do happen at any time. Good video, thanks 👍
I use the utility front to turn my one man bivvy into a two man when my 9 year old joins me with his additional bed chair. I love the modular flexibility.
And with trakker do you own? I’m searching for a bivvy with the option to take my girl or my kid with me. The 200 is wat to big. Thank you
Hi mate, could you fit 2 bedchairs pushed up tight to eachother side by side in the trakker 150? Looking for a bivvy so i can take the wife on occasion, cheers.
@@Carl-s7j sorry mate i don’t remember , but I think it was a no or was very tight, if I’m thinking of taking some one I would always go for a two man Bivvy. So maybe look at the 200
Thanks a lot mate I will do
Why buy it if all you’ve done is moan about it?
Video o hovně chodíš dokola jak kokot 😂
I recommend the SPYDER bivvies.Had a 2.5man for about 10yrs, came with groundsheet/wrap/porch etc £250 and never had a problem. Bought a 1man last year aswell. They also do a massive 4man. And regular sales/offers on them
This is a great side by side comparison video. The Trakker RS 150 just looks a better made, better quality, better fabric used product than the Fox. Having them side by side makes it clearly visible the Trakker is in my opinion ( of course everyone else's preferences may differ to mine) a much better made product visually. The touch of the fabric may reveal otherwise. I have a tempest V2 with a Cyprinus skullcap still in brilliant condition and I bought it used from a guy who bought it used. It isn't a Titan which I have owned three of, the viper was brilliant, and with the extreme canopy the best shelter ever made without vents. Used in hurricane winds simply indestructible bivvy. Really helpful video, appreciate you making it and showing us.
They was 300 when they come out just got 1 myself does the job
👌🏻
Helpful for awkward tree distances and windy/wet conditions: Get a length of paracord tied to the centre and corner eyelets on your tarp (add brass ones etc using a riveter if you don't have them, choose metal based on your needs). Tie lots of knots along the length of the paracord lines that have a decent bit of chunkiness to them. Add monkey knots at the end of this (I do weighted just for versatility if I see a good branch nearby that's unobstructed by small branches and foliage) Add to each of the corners a bunjee with a hook, you want to be able to wrap these around a tree or post or vehicle point and hook them in on themselves. Longer is safer than shorter because you can always wrap twice or three times around the point. When you've found a suitable mounting point, add a slope to the tarp to stop rain collection, and add suitable height for gear/chairs/chilling out. If you're expecting rain, make the slope extend slightly past a dug run-off ditch to ensure water flows around and not through your zone. When mounting loop the bungees and then the knotted ropes (the loops grip the surface and eachother when you wrap the rope 2-3 times around itself that stops the need for cumbersome knots out in the field). You can add a cord to a centre attachment point in the middle of the tarp if you have one, and if you tie a monkey knot around a weight and keep the rope smooth, you can lob this over a branch or whatever then attach to a nearby tree to make a raised centre (in rain this will collect 4 pockets of rain on the top so be aware not the best for rainy conditions). After about maybe 30-60 minutes of small effort, you can have a ready-to-go tarp solution for most of your outdoor needs. All the best and good luck!
Extra❤❤❤ il love it
I used a tarp in the eighties when most fishing gear was crap. Would have thought that in 2024 the bivvies at a grand plus with the overwraps they might have been fit for purpose. Won't be getting one of them 🤔
I use mine over my van very good my mate uses his over bigger bivvy and that gives proper porch chance the angle of the tarp and test different bits bring forward etc
Looks good, womdered about getting one myself.
You need a set rear swivel wheels game changer
@@PaulRobinson-kf1ip yes I am waiting for carp porter to bring them out
Hi not sure if they are how long send dean ward message he will sort you out
Im just putting mine up in the garden now and using this as a guide. Made the mistake of not pushing the threaded storm pole connectors through the bivvy holes before pulling the tensioning bar down. Just for clarification you can leave the quick releases on the bivvy when taking it down cant you ?
@@1dowsey yes you can
Small sub note I just went to Spa for the F1 Thursday to Monday with mate and rather than a normal tent took the Frontier and with the social cap etc fitted 2 Nash indulgence 6 leg systems all our clobber 2 chairs which as it rained a lot mainly got used inside with still plenty of room
I have the Trakker (not RS prev version) 100 and the Fox Frontier XD+ with Social cap inner dome etc One thing I can say is XD as its the extra headroom one is great for longer stays and the storm poles are much stronger than the Trakker ones (yep bent them just a tad) Typical I bought the Trakker and wanted to get the social cap but none in stock only a few months before they announced the new bivvy - and needed one quick as old Bivvy had given up with no 150's in stock What I wanted was the 150 + social but to be fair now i have the 100 with vapour peek for short stays or smaller swims and the XD for longer stays or when I go with son and his mates as i do all the cooking etc so all in all worked out well. Trakker wise i would have had to get the 200 + social cap to be close to the Frontier size wise
I'd have the Yrakker by Far, had the Tempest 200 for me n lad...awesome kit....but tell you what, you don't half have some kit 👍👍🎣🎣
@carp fishing things what is your overall favourite bivvy for height, footprint ,material ,set up and pack down?
To be honest it changes with me every time I’m out in one , I will do a top 3 at some point I really like my compact 1 man Ridgemonkey, tho I don’t like how heavy it is.
Hi mate any chance of seeing the rs 100 and a with the social cap?
Sorry mate don’t have the rs100
Thanks for doing this video, I commented on another one of you're vids asking what you preferred as I currently have the fox but was contemplating the rs150 , I think I prefer the fox after watching this video 👍
I’ve just brought the rs150, and tbh, it’s an amazing bit of kit. Really thick fabric. It’s quality.
See u comin😂
Interested in one where did you buy it from and what bedchair have you got in there please
The shop I got it for has shut down now but I think you can get them on eBay new for about £120ish the same price bed is a solar
@@carpfishingthings-ny9go thank you
Thinking getting 1 these, sold all my Gear last year, but slowly getting back into it....tempted at my local go outdoors £120....you got quite a selection of bivvys 😂
I just bought the 150 version and skull cap waiting on it coming but yea looks a decent bit of kit and there are mega deals to be had

I cant find the app to get it going eny help please
@@willsaunders796 you need to join the nd boat group on Facebook
Can you put it up with the front panel already on or do you have to put front on afterwards
I always put mine on after, but if you keep door unzipped then it should be ok. I I leave the doors on all my others bivvys and they are ok
OK thanks for your message I've just bought the cammo version but not used it yet
I have seen the korda one and it sucks unfortunately. The best one is ESP Cool Bag XL 40 L. Cheap, amazing materials, long lasting, had it beaten up and dragged it all over the place and its still holding up after many years. Cheers
I’ve recently brought the nd2. Used it for two 7 day sessions. Absolutely brilliant it is. I had no issues with anything. I did however sand the edges of the hopper doors before I used it, as people saying the doors stick. No issues at all for me. Autopilot is a game changer. Works perfectly.
The hide xl pro is excellent down side is u have to buy all doors separately
Socially awkward if there is 2 of you.
Solar is an awesome bivvy.
Good review - wish I’d found this the other week as was tempted by the offer on TFT and think they’re sold out now…!
They still have them mate at £219 but keep watching coz the price goes up and down. Still 219 is a good price
Still got them mate just ordered one myself, let me know if you order one I'll send you a discount code
