    You might consider using your center power to move your weapon. Also, you might consider the concepts in the following video. ua-cam.com/video/0tHwQd6oc6s/v-deo.htmlsi=5SOEVTnIZ5R2Oyz1

    I find it difficult to relearn Kiai as I have been taught to do soundless Kiai (Nishio AiKiDo). So to do Kiai with sound I feel makes me slower than without, however I have done a Kendo seminar with very loud Kiais and I enjoyed that very much, there is a presence gained that I like about that. FWIW

    Very good examples. I come from Nishio ryu AiKiDo (AiKi toho iai) but am a new student of KSR so some things are familiar but also Very different! I think my AiKiDo attitude will take a while to adjust. FWIW

    Hi guys! Cool demo, really enjoyed it. Some nice techniques! Also, something about the sound of bokken on bokken really makes me happy. I have to ask though, what’s up with the bits where you just spin around in place while your opponent stands still? Are you doing that to show a transition into the next technique?

    • @paulfrank1777

      Basically, you have to learn how to deal with someone attacking your weak points which is your back. So it relates to this concept.

    Japanese technique lol such a waste of range. I did dagorhir for 10 years in the city with 20 plus people fighting a larger variety of weapons constantly. but no headshot and no pummel strikes allowed. so what we end up doing is just sliding up and down the pole with a heavy focus on creating range and standing behind shield-men allys when we can. But I often when to off to solo flankers and shields can hard counter poles anyways the technique you showed would be very useful against an aggressive sheildman if we could use pummels. But Like a dojo master showed up once only got 1 kill in 3 hours. He complemented our very strong sense range as we constantly have people with different range weapons. He would perform movements exactly as yours with his bo staff but it was clear he wasn't hitting for the sole reason of me being out of range and just screwing with his attack timings by what i call charging up my spear and moving my weapon before my foot. this causes the average person to misjudge where the spear will end up so they don't back peddle effectively and because my back arm already has pressure the shaft it launches very fast. so in short adapt a form of those movements to min or maximize your range as this will will allow better control of the fight. cause i could snipe you with a spear ez pz as the sheer force and angle of the stab would be hard to deflect.

    I noticed your radiant barrier installed also. It looks like it’s installed over insulation ? Planning something similar in conjunction with the gable and a whole home fan

    • @paulfrank1777
      @paulfrank1777 28 днів тому

      The radiant barrier is not over any insulation on the roofline. You really need a gap to let the air escape and go up. Put on one area of my upper floor. I did have to put the radiant barrier right against the insulation so I didn’t attach it to the rafters.

    In the second variant where stepping through, this method is not an Aikido method strictly speaking. It is taught that way in the kata in both Yagyu Shinkage Ryu Kenjutsu and Shinto Ryu Kenjutsu / Kasumi Shinto Ryu Kenjutsu, off the top of my head , both Shinkage Ryu and Shinto Muso Ryu are Koryu Budo. Also your stepping off the wrong foot. It's the right foot that moves forward diagonally , not the left foot. You won't get cut if stepping through with the correct foot.

    When the man on the left spins, he leaves his back open, which is a great chance for the man on the right to attack

    Nicely choreographed and fast. Can you show us the kata again demonstrating proper targeting and distance instead of how fast you can execute moves? Think about being seikaku and surudoku.

    • @paulfrank1777
      @paulfrank1777 Місяць тому

      Thank you. Good observation. In some areas, I was going too fast to demonstrate proper technique. In general, I like to show how fast you can move if you’re moving from your center power and keeping your upper body relaxed. I may repeat someday and demonstrate more accurately. I think I’m going to demonstrate Nagata next and I may slow it down just a bit to demonstrate technical accuracy, instead of internal body skills.

    Thats called mastering? Is this Sugino or Kyoso Shigitero lineages? If not, this isnt legitimate and has no connection to KSR. Unfortunately, the execution of "techniques", shows no geniune connection to the ryu.
