Karl makes a really random cameo appearance in David Mitchell's show Ludwick recently! I did wonder if it was intended for someone from Mitchell's past [like Robert Webb] at one stage.

A nice little summary of this painful vanity project. Some of the other things I can't stand about Afterlife: Formulaic episodes with obvious foreshadowing All the 2D, undeveloped supporting characters The shows obsession with obese people and homosexuals (and that these things are hilarious) I could go on, it is just a complete disaster of a show. I think it only really appeals to a certain demographic of politically right-wing people who subscribe to the 'anti-woke' 'you can't say anything any more' philosophy.

My favourite peripheral character is Big Mad Andy, i think that character had more mileage

If they made the premise of it as SoundCloud Rappers, I think the US would have made sense then. Like just have a bunch of 30+ year olds still stuck in the Xandemic and Clout Goggle Era.

I saw Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong at the Leeds Festival. I’d seen some hype about them, and was very underwhelmed by their set. Forgettable indie fodder. I remember ‘Jamie’ commenting on some disagreement with the record company which delayed them getting their album out.

My favourite Extras storyline was always the antagonism between Andy Millman and Greg Lindley-Jones. Andy hit success first with his sitcom, but Greg overtook him with 'real' acting and became a respected thhhhhhhhespian while Andy was left frustrated.

Barry stole the show for me. Him and merchant together on the pull ect. Such A great double act.

Looking up ''Ricky Gervais sucks'' on UA-cam, you'll find most videos having a massive dislike to like ratio. I think it's because these people conflate disliking Ricky with the idea that you must be offended by him or that you are woke, which is a shield that he has build up around him, which is displayed in all of his comedy. For those of us able to look through that false veil, we see a man who is so out of touch with reality and addicted to social media. He screams about ''being cancelled'', despite landing show after stand-up special on bloody Netflix of all platforms... The truth is, Ricky is an atheist, childless 60+ year old boomer who thinks ''he's still got it''. He is so full of himself and he will go to his grave screaming ''god is not real''. But no one really cares... He has managed to capture the audiences of cat ladies, soccer moms and atheists. Look at his twitter and facebook. His audience is just that. Conflating entry level philosophical ideas with brilliant thinking. His soap opera level manipulation of trying to ''tug at the heartstrings'' on After Life is a thing that doesn't get made fun of enough. But the money keeps pouring in, and Ricky's ego keeps being stroked. Xfm Ricky Gervais would have hated what he has become.

Although I'm overall not a big fan of S8/9, I do really, really love this episode just because of all the fantastic quotes. It's definitely my favourite of the later episodes by a long way...
