    • @GidonLasch
      @GidonLasch 15 днів тому

      Yes, it’s a steep price, but it’s always the same with film gear. You need very good quality, and the production numbers are small. The higher the quality, the more absurd the price may seem, but to get 10% more quality, it often requires at least a 30% increase in price. I hope that makes sense to you-it’s not greed that makes professional gear so expensive.

    • @GidonLasch
      @GidonLasch 15 днів тому

      Thank you very much! Yes, the Euroboxes are pretty much the only way to carry the rigged-up camera. I don’t like to disassemble my gear, and this way it’s easy to carry. The FX3 with a monitor literally fits in no camera bag at all, and that’s the problem with many cameras. I have an inlay inside the boxes and some foam to protect it. I can really recommend trying it out!

    Aren't you afraid that dust gets on the lens? I'm a complete amature and I have two lenses (17-50mm and 50-200mm). So I change the lenea often also. But I'm scared of damaging the glass so I also screw the cover.... That ofcourse takes time... How do you view this and do you have any advise (I do not film, only take photos). Thanks

    • @GidonLasch
      @GidonLasch Місяць тому

      I would absolutely recommend being as gentle as possible with your lenses and always keeping the lens caps on. I handle mine differently because I need to work quickly when shooting documentary films, and I get paid to do so. Since I’m quite rough with my lenses, I end up replacing them every couple of years. If photography or videography is just a hobby for you, take care of your gear so you can enjoy it for much longer. I wouldn’t worry too much about dust, as it’s inevitable that dust will enter your lenses if you use them often, even with the lens caps on. The main concern is scratches. I use a UV filter on the front, so I only need to worry about the rear element. That’s how I try to protect my lenses a bit.

    • @HideSpyVin
      @HideSpyVin Місяць тому

      @@GidonLasch Thank you for your reply. Yeah I was thinking about the rear part. It looks likes you put the lens in the pouch rear end pointing up. So dust or other dirt can get on it and ruin your shot. But I understand that you have to be quick. Did you think about using strap holders for lenses? For example LENS KIT from company Peak Design. Because that will cover the rear and also provide you with the quick change utility.

    • @GidonLasch

    I just want to make sure I heard you correctly. You bought the burano for the version 2.0 update which is in 2025? That's why alot of your issues will be addressed. Specifically March of 2025.

    • @GidonLasch
      @GidonLasch 2 місяці тому

      I bought the Burano because I needed a high-end camera for various shoots, and nothing comes close to the Burano for my personal needs. I like the camera very much, but I wouldn’t recommend it to someone who is not doing high-end documentary work or a combination of documentary and image work. There are some things that annoy me a little bit right now, but they should be resolved with the upcoming update. What I can say after some shoots is that it’s a fantastic camera. As for IR pollution, it’s not a problem for me; I didn’t notice any issues with the ND filter while using it.

    Dude ... if you have the money.. go with the Alexa 35. Future proofing is just marketing nonsense. Future Humans aren't suddenly going to develop super vision. If anything ...what future proofs a camera is it's Dynamic range. TVs just keep getting brighter and brighter.. able to show much more contrast and hold highlights.

    • @GidonLasch
      @GidonLasch 2 місяці тому

      I think that's kind of what I said, but I don't know many people who have the money for an Alexa. High resolution isn’t about getting an 8K delivery; it’s about being able to work with the resolution in post. And of course, you are right about the dynamic range; I love it about the Alexa 35. But at least for me, if I could afford it, I would wait until the new LF sensor is available and then pull the trigger to get an Arri. The problem with Arri is that in many ways I prefer the Sony. When it comes to handling, the speed I can achieve with a Burano is much higher than with a 35.

      It’s not as complicated as it sounds. I only need one shooting mode per project and will stick to it. The only time I change the shooting mode is when I want to do slow motion. By now, I know the camera well enough that I can make adjustments very quickly. Still, I’m really looking forward to some updates on the camera that will make things a lot easier. The Burano will be a miss for many people just because of the price-pint but for me its just the perfect do it all tool.
