Lacrime di Kodama
"Lacrime di Kodama" is my first work of free soundscape composition, made in April 2022. The project wants to describe imaginary places, small worlds that are slowly disturbed by the introduction of elements that should not be in that place. It's like a walk through 4 different "rooms" created with natural sounds and instruments like a piano, an ukulele and a tin whistle. In Japan, "Kodama" are tree spirits, who became famous with "Princess Mononoke", the film by Hayao Miyazaki.
"Lacrime di Kodama" è il mio primo lavoro di una serie di suondscape composition libere, scritto in Aprile 2022. Il progetto è perlopiù mirato a cercare di descrivere paesaggi e situazioni immaginarie, piccoli mondi e sensazioni che piano piano vengono disturbate dall'introduzione di elementi che non dovrebbero trovarsi in quel luogo. Una sorta di passeggiata simbolica tra 4 "stanze" (o luoghi), che rappresentano una parte della mia vita nel periodo antecedente a quello in cui ho scritto questo lavoro. Infatti, nel 2020/2021, con le restrizioni del covid i posti che maggiormente caratterizzavano la mia quotidianità erano 4: la mia casa, il conservatorio, che raggiungevo con autocertificazione, il boschetto vicino a casa mia e il bosco del "Brinzio Hotel", un posto segreto tra me e i miei amici. Il mio bisogno di evadere mi portava a girare continuamente tra questi spazi, dove ho poi cominciato a raccogliere i vari suoni che ho utilizzato in questo lavoro. Oltre agli elementi più naturali, come ad esempio gli uccelli e lo scorrere d'acqua di un ruscello, per la maggior parte degli altri suoni ho utilizzato strumenti che avevo in casa: un pianoforte, un ukulele, un whistle irlandese e del soffritto di cipolla. Infine, i "Kodama" sono gli spiriti degli alberi in Giappone, diventati famosi nell'immaginario collettivo grazie alla rappresentantazione che ne viene fatta nel film "Principessa Mononoke" di Hayao Miyazaki.

Another example of how all contemporary western music, from show tunes of the 30s and 40s, to jazz, to pop, to even heavy metal owes so much to Bach.
