Brilliant Boxset value for the money.

Great discussion on this musical genius and this wonderful song. A couple of minor unimportant inaccuracies with her history, but the big one to correct was that it was in fact David Gilmour who discovered her, not Roger Waters. Her singles are great but for me the Ninth Wave (7 interrelated songs) on the second half of the Hounds of Love album was her crowning achievement.

You had to have grown up with it. It's definitely a niche movie. I've always loved this movie but I grew up with it. The animation is great. Reminds me of The Hobbit, which is great as well. Great review of the release. Got a sub out of it. 😁

As someone who watched Yu-Gi-Oh as a kid and along with the first two spin-offs GX and 5D's. Scott and Aaron's reactions are accurate descriptions. But boy does it get whacky in the later stuff, we're talking Atlantis, aliens, the tarot, spirit realm, the Nazca lines and most importanly Card games on motorcycles. Also one of the victims in AVP was Patrick Troughton's son, Sam Troughton.

Thunderbirds was an enduringly popular property in the UK. There is some good casting but the potential for a live action Thunderbirds was missed completely. I can remember clearly leaving the cinema in a state of disbelief.

As a British kid they repeated Thunderbirds and other Gerry Anderson shows like Captain Scarlet and Stingray on TV at the time, either because the movie was coming out or just for the heck of it. Gerry Anderson did a lot of supermarionation shows and also ventured out into live action productions like UFO which did utilize the ship method Aaron mentioned and would later inspire Hideaki Anno's Evangelion anime series. They did another series of Thunderbirds in 2015 with Rosamund Pike as Lady Penelope (Sophia Myles' character) and also What We Do in the Shadows' Kayvan Novak, this time animated.
