This channel is dedicated to showing life with my service dog by my side! I'm showing our entire journey including training. Wesley is a multipurpose service dog; he is psychiatric medical alert/response and medical alert/response for physical disabilities.
As a side-note, I am aware that some of the ads on my channel are for fake registries. I DO NOT support them nor will I ever. Unfortunately, I have no control over what UA-cam puts on my videos. I am sorry.
I hope you enjoy.

Being Friends with a Service Dog Handler Q&A
Nice Work. Question, instead of dtp after passing out, how to train sd to bark for help
This is lovely
Thank you❤️
I wish my friend could afford one of these dogs. I can only imagine how much it could help with her disabilities. I don’t want to get into her business but she has PTSD, GAD, ADHD, and depression. She tried to get an ESA but it didn’t work out. She really does deserve someone to help her out. But I realize it could be stressful for her too. I don’t know. Maybe someday if she thinks it will help, I can help her find a good one once I figure out the details.
I have a question. How does one become a trainer for these special dogs? I’ve been watching videos on how they are trained but do you need a certain license and do you need to breed them to get them a certain way? I know I want a job in the dog training field and I feel like this would be a good one because it is a necessity and it would help people.
I growing up had ptsd and really bad asthma, i had a few allergies and mild depression, i had no thought about Service dogs but i knew friends that had them usual for diabetes and autism as well as epilepsy. From the get go i knew having a service dog wasn't for mild conditions, they are for debilitating disabilities. Once I got diagnosed with bpd and adhd, i didn't think of services dogs i though about meds and therapy and learning skills. I started to see how debilitating my other mental and physical illnesses became debilitating. But i always said that i wouldn't ask or think about a services dog until i had a physical disability that made me fear for my safety by myself or in public places. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea is childhood but i was never told about it until i was 18yo, i had woke up from a nightmare and realized i wasn't breathing and i gasped call my mom and told her about it she then told me about my sleep apnea. Anyways i still didn't want a service dog that seemed very "dramatic" like not dramatic but more like serious issue. I though services animals are for life or death situations. Now i am getting a sleep test and i got my Brain test thing (i dont have epilepsy yay my school thought i did cuz i woulf pass out in school or have memory lost) i will also be getting a tilt table test. If my sleep apnea is really severe i might think of meds first, but if i am told my sleep apnea is severe anddd i have POTS then i will be looking into meds and a service dog. My doctor as told me i could qualify for a services dog, i have told her that i am not meds person unless it is a must, but services dogs are also not unless its a debilitating scary disability(s) (i dont have a person who would care for me if i am unable to work independently) so if it gets bad i literally have no one to help me or even want to help me (many ppl in my family fear illness or death so like my older sisters she can't help me because she fears i will die in her home or under her care and she will feel as if its her responsibility) I would be very scared to be alone in this case so i would then consider or even just jump to needed a services dog
This really works, I just started to try to train my husky, and now he barely needs any treats for doing it
Any tips on college with a service dog? I’m moving into my dorm w my service dog in training in less then 2weeks!!
I have to get one for mobility assistance. Right now I have my family to constantly help me but I want to be independent. So I’ve been resurching since I was 10 I’m gonna get one at 17 😭
i have pots and fibro which causes me chronic pain and fatigue and also seizures and passing out. i think having a service dog would help so much with my paranoia about passing out
Can I get someone's option on if I should get a service dog? I am able to go to school but I get such severe anxiety that I skip all my classes and refuse to go into specific classes, I will hide in the bathroom or the counselors office to get out of class and there's this one girl in my class that if she's in there I will have a breakdown and cannot go to that class for the rest of the semester by skipping. Would I be able to qualify for a service dog since I am unable to learn in some capacity?
This was helpful. I started this with my dog a year ago and did what all the other videos were doing but my health wasn’t the best so it was difficult to keep up with it. Your video is a lot better and more concise than the ones I watched a year ago. I feel confident starting back up with my service Saint berdoodle. So thank you! 😊
How long do you keep each training session before putting the scents back in the freezer?
Is percie an Aussie doddle
Im going into the 6th grade and (This is my last resort) I have depression Panic disorder and Cyclic vomiting disorders and I want a Psychiatric service dog but I dont know how to tell them and this video is helping me alot I haven't told my parents yet but i have educated my siblings and they support me and im starting to build up confidence
If you’re not blind legally or have a seizure disorder, you really shouldn’t have a service animal. If you have anything else you should just get a dog and love them unconditionally and they will love you back.
There are a LOT of different disorders and conditions that could be treated or helped with a service dog. Service dogs are different from regular pets because they are specifically trained to perform certain tasks. People with extreme anxiety or autism, for example, can benefit by having an SD who performs tasks like deep pressure therapy, alerting if they're fidgeting, heart rate increase, anxiety/panic attack, feeling overwhelmed or overstimulated, crowd control, etc. Other dogs like medical/cardiac alert service dogs are task trained to alert their handler if they are having a cardiac episode or issue, or other medical episode including seizures. I've seen people with POTS who have SDs to help them and alert them when they're having an episode or to help retrieve medicine or grab and move stuff when the handler doesn't have good mobility.
I know this is an old video but were can I find Claire’s videos.
I have Borderline Personality Disorder and Cptsd along with some anxiety and can get in very depressed states way too often. I find animals help me a lot especially when my mental state gets bad. I’ve been looking into service animals but I understand it all takes time and can be a process to get one.
I live in an apartment complex where we're only allowed to have one dog. Would it be legal for Me to have a service dog along with the dog We already have? I don't want to do anything that would violate our lease.
You don't need a doctor's approval. You can owner-train
also, what people needs to understand is that service dogs ARE STILL DOGS! They do get LOVE, ATTENTION and ARE TREATED LIKE A FAMIOY MEMBER, just like a normal dog is. yes, they do work! Yes they have a job to do, but at home, normal dogs, not saying that they dont work at home, its kinda like ur dog knows how to do on command like, sit they sit. Its basically the same thing, its just that thier commands are different ( notr exactly but just to be easier to understadn ) and YES THEY ARE LOVED! THEY ARE NOT USED! ( i wrote this because someone i knew had this exact doubt!, and no, i dont have a service dog this is just info that i kmow )
Does the E-collar shock ur dog?
I owner traind my dog to be my medical alert service dog
I need a service dog for my Heart conditions as well as migraines that are severely debilitating and I thought your video could help me since my doctors had no idea how to go about it. But I wanted to just see a list of how to, not get a lecture or watch twenty mins of negativity. Just my opinion but people looking for medical service dogs already feel bad and have a host of medical and psychological issues and don’t need another person lecturing or bringing them down.
Thank you! BLESSINGS! ❤🙌🎊
Training your dog isn’t easy; most people never even bother to train their dogs to come when they call, or stop jumping on visitors. Training a service dog takes incredible patience, consistency, and calmness, along with a great deal of knowledge. Additionally, you MUST have the right dog to begin with. Few dogs have what it takes to be effective and successful service dogs, because they must be absolutely bulletproof. Your life may depend on it, and usually does if you’re disabled enough to need a service dog.
I'm a 100% disabled veteran, now diagnosed with autism, depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder and ptsd. I'm also epileptic. My psychiatrist (MD) immediately agreed a service dog would be helpful for me, as I'm about to be living alone. Lucky for me, there is a local organization in my area that rescues dogs from shelters, then pairs the dog with a veteran in need, and trains the dog and veteran to be a service dog team. (At no cost to the veteran.) It is a regimented program with defined goals and progressively more difficult testing with the Public Access Test being the final test. I've met my dog, Hank (Approximately 18 month 1/2 lab - 1/2 great pyrinees), and I take custody of him on Monday, so we can start bonding and basic obedience training. We start service dog training in January. I'm currently doing research, and found your video. Your very direct, keep it real approach is refreshing. I know I need help, and am looking forward to Hank and I working together. Thank you for the insights, and best of luck to you!
I had a Karen harass me the other day because my service dog was wearing shoes. She complained it was a hot day and that I should avoid the hot pavement. And I'm like Karen, I am avoiding the hot pavement by having my dog wear the shoes to protect her feet. And I told her that my vet loves the shoes I have on my service dog.
I really need a service dog for diabetes to let me know when my sugars are dangerously high or low and get me meds, water in emergency situations. I also really could use a dog that can help with panic attacks. Any advice for how to do this?
Like she said, talk to a medical professional. They know best about your specific situation of wether you need one
Bro your lucky my school won’t let my sdit in my school until she is fully trained I told them that I needed her but they said “we have a nurse for a reason “ and I said whatever because I was having a bad day that day so I didn’t want to argue with them but we only have 1 year left of training and I started task training her 6 months ago so she is pretty good we have started public access training so I just bring her to pet friendly places but I will start bringing her to non-pet friendly places in 2 months but I’m super nervous because if she reacts badly during this hurricane it will set us back a few months so I’m praying she doesn’t react badly 😊❤🙏
I was finally diagnosed with ASD only around two ish years ago in highshool (I’m a minor) but I have done tons and tons of research into psychiatric service dogs and I believe it would be the best decision for me. I have self harm habits, I have constant high heart rates due to constant anxiety and panic attacks during school. I also have ADHD and I take medication for it and for my anxiety & depression. I barely can function at 11 at school and I get bullied way to often. I can’t even go outside alone bc of my anxiety. The only issue is how i would be able to even get a service dog, as it’s a lot of money and it’s hard to find a dog close enough to me and at a reasonable price. 😪
Do you think I’m qualified? So basically i have trauma around my alcoholic mom, and when I’m really dis regulated I’ll pull hair, SH, I also have bad anxiety in social situations like paying at a grocery store or going to a restaurant alone, I also have bad depression so my episodes look like being in my room ALL day, no motivation no nothing I won’t shower, brush teeth, and when REALLY stressed I have bed wetting issues, I also don’t take my meds every time I’m supposed to because I forget. I’ve also been to seven impatiently, nothing is working and I also have a history of attempting when alone or hopeless. I think this would really help what do you think?
I think that if you can’t take proper care of yourself, you might have trouble taking care of a dog :(
Real quick akita you just have to take it one step at a time try bringing it up with your doctor, THANK you for this vid so much more informed!
How long do you use the correction collar? I’m training my lab for mobility training. I don’t want to use it long term.
I've been trying to find service angel percie's channel after years of not watching but i cant find it?
You shouldn't feel bad about that, they should have some restraint and should know better. No one should be trying to call your service dog and I think everyone would benefit from learning the dos and don'ts when it comes to service animals.
Just wanted to let you know some folks like myself are getting passed around from doctor to doctor in the VA or military so sometimes I am sure it would be reliant on medical history in those cases maybe? But every doctor has their own opinion, my last doctor believed I have chronic pain and no doctor has believed me when I talk about the dent in my skull or the constant headaches and other issues I have. But it is what it is I suppose. This is a lot of good information and I do hope that no one is coming to this video just because they want to cheat the system. Thank you for putting out a video on this for genuinely curious people to get good information on this subject.
I clicked on this video for it's informative nature and nothing more.
Thank you
We didn’t see you go through the front. What do you say to the questions? I had trouble finding the relief stations.
Would it be the same for someone who cuts
Thank you so much for this video
What medical issues/ mental health issues do you deal with? I have anxiety disorder.
Would have told them to knock it off that i want a circus side show. I have a big problem with fake sd. We have had them try to attack us many times.
My therapist recommended I look into getting one for my ptsd
Hi Emily. I hope your graduate program is going well. I was wondering if you might have any service dog gear you know longer use that you would be interested in trading. Specifically I’m looking for a vest that would fit a 55-57 pound dog.
I already have 2 dogs and other pets which is at the moment one of my main concerns.
I had a really nice therapist I talked to a year or two ago and I talked to her for a while and I have social anxiety and depression but I’m coping she had gave me a paper saying I could get a service dog or a ESA cause with all my panic attacks and anxiety and stress it gave me seizures and it really sucked I wanted to be normal and I was trying to cope with my ptsd since I was a senior in high school my mom didn’t want to deal with my shit school if I got a dog to help me little did I know I had another seizure but thankfully at home and I talked about the situation with a teacher and she said who cares about the school if it’s to help you then you should’ve gotten it. Like yeah maybe but pfft we ain’t rich to buy them they are very expensive like you said.. a couple weeks after this I collapsed in my Spanish class and then had a massive panic attack I was told to go home cause it was seizure like. I felt like shit that day and I was scared af. We took the ESA’s but i wish one of them helped better I have really mean kittens and his teeth are vampire like!! But me that’s 18 currently and out of high school I’m glad. I’ve finally started working on myself physically at home while I wait for my ID so I can work for things I want. But you know it’s life I guess. I kinda just wanna drive far and pet a dream dog any dog and I really wouldn’t care if it was a service or not I could train it if I need it just in case but we will see.
Do you have any advice on working with your dog through sound sensitivity
You are so correct about the social anxiety part but If I get an SD I will be with my brother you are a very good teacher and I will tell myself with it I will always have a friend by my side and it’s better to get it now before hs especially it’s better to get it before then later I would rather go and struggle with something by my side instead of struggle with nothing by my side and keep going lonely but thank you so much for this info :)
