Discover an easy method to distinguish real diamonds from impostors using just water and a lighter. Follow along as we demonstrate each step, providing clear insights for accurate testing.
Starting with a glass stone resembling a diamond, we apply heat and observe its reaction before dropping it into water. Witness the dramatic change and subsequent telltale signs of a fake.
Contrasting with a genuine diamond, we showcase its resilience to heat and the lack of reaction to the water. Through side-by-side comparisons, we highlight the unmistakable differences between real diamonds and their imitations.
But we don't stop there. We also test a moissanite, showing that while lack of cracking under heat is a good sign, it doesn't guarantee authenticity.
Concluding with a reminder to seek expert advice for certainty, we encourage engagement by liking and sharing the video. Join us in unraveling the mystery of gemstone authenticity and ensure your sparkle is genuine.

#gildedblanco #gold #jewelry Rare Earth Magnets: amzn.to/3PzEamv In this video, I demonstrate how to test gold using a magnet, similar to testing for other metals like silver or copper. Gold isn't magnetic, so it won't stick to a magnet. However, not all magnets work for this test; rare earth metal magnets are recommended for accuracy. I run the magnet across various jewelry pieces to see what ...

    You have to wonder how many people have destroyed their diamonds doing this. All it would take is a small air bubble within the diamond, expanding from the heat, to give you an exploded diamond.

    That´s a very stupid and absolutely unreliable way to test an item if is goldplated or solid gold! There are many ways to make an item look golden. Some of them will leave a stain on a towel. Rub your towel with toothpaste on your unwashed hands. You will see a stain too. Take your item to a professional juweler and they can tell you within minutes if the surface of your item is gold or not.

    • @GildedBlanco

  • @BopWalk
    @BopWalk 7 місяців тому

    This type of cleaning fucks up the surface of the coin which can easily be seen under a microscope. Your best bet is dipping the coins in silver drip if you want to restore the luster on gradeable coins in a natural way without the coins being graded as CLEANED.

    • @GildedBlanco
      @GildedBlanco 7 місяців тому

      Have you done it before I wanna give it a try but have no experience with it? Like I mentioned if you’re looking to grade the coins I wouldn’t advise it

    • @BopWalk
      @BopWalk 7 місяців тому

      @@GildedBlanco Thanks for mentioning it. Silver dip is real easy, just don't touch the solution to your skin, wear gloves and stick the silver coin in there, stick it in there or swish it around for up to a minute or two and the tarnish silver oxide layer should convert back to the metal form (technically speaking). There is also the baking soda, boiling water and foil method (without rubbing) which will do non abrasive cleaning. Silver dip is probably a better bet to restore luster for grading, since they're a bit more lenient with it.

    • @Wes_Stacks.
      @Wes_Stacks. 4 місяці тому

      It's a reaction between the silver and tin foil. Literally no affect to the coin like scrubbing or dipping.

    I ordered sterling silver necklace online. When i opened it, it was bluish white like stainless steel compared to my yellowish white sterling. I didn't have a strong magnet for the pendant but the thin chain was magnetised. It has no 925 markings. Ice melted faster on this 'stainless steel' looking pendant than on my genuine sterling silver. I used white clothbto clean it and no dark smudges of the cloth. And last i did the bleach test and it did not tarnish though i left it for only 1 minute. Can stainless steel melt faster than silver? It looks and acts like stainless steel except for the ice test.
