That horror anthology choosing to start off with the story that features that was uh....A CHOICE. 🤨 I wonder what goes into the editors' deciding the placement of the stories featured. I feel like that one's starting off on the wrong foot for sure, haha I've been meaning to try Darcy Coates, but wasn't sure what was best to start with, so I'm grateful you put your favorites in the comments. Yay! Just joined Team Snakes! I am going to mood read, but some ideas I have are The Wicked King, One for my Enemy, If We Were Villains, Serpent and the Wings of Night, Blood Over Bright Haven and an Education in Malice. But for some non wicked word reads - maybe I will read The Wren in the Holly Library, Magnolia Parks, Funny Story, Briefly a Delicious Life, Sirens and Muses (although maybe Siren is a wicked word?!) or Blue Sisters.

Go Team Snakes! I'm reading some of the same books/authors and I'm confident they'll all be 4 or 5 stars 🐍🐍 Excited to hear your thoughts on Island Witch, I loved her two previous books! I gave Diavola 4 stars and Lute 3 stars, if that's helpful at all lol. I think that author's best quality is creating atmosphere, but her storytelling improved in Diavola imo 🤷
