spitfire piolet to mosquito ,hey come on slow down a bit and wait for me
What is the unit with the empty cannon connector and what appears to be a selection lever on top? Some sort of early auto pilot or? J
Rolls Royce Merlin, plus some very, very, brave young people turned the tide in WWII. The Mossie was the icing on the cake, low casualties, high hit rate, small cost.
If the sound of those engines doesn’t give you a chubby, you might be dead ,😵
They were and still an amazing bird they certain sent the he bee ge bees up the Germans at the time. Fast/powerful, light, maneuverable and deadly to the enemy.
“They’re probably all dead, all 633 Squadron” ….. “You can’t kill a Squadron!”
@4:33 Glitch in the matrix? Looks like the plane is sinking
Cool video. Thanks for the ride.
Its a wonder that after many decades the wooden wonder has survived let alone fly. Amazing construction and remarkably effective aircraft in its day and still is amazing. A credit to the people who designed and made these aircraft and those who worked diligently to restore this particular beauty.
This never gets old 😮😊😊😊❤❤
One of my two top favourite WW2 British fighters, I’m sure you can all guess the other one, it uses one of these amazing engines and it’s not the Hurricane 😮 lol 😊❤❤
Twin merlin with a beautiful plane in the the middle, perfection ❤ Thank you to all those brave men and women who gave their all.
Real hands on flying ❤ thanks for giving us the chance to see and hear this beauty from onboard
A couple were restored here in New Zealand a couple of years ago. Magic! ❤️👌
Those FABULOUS MAGIK MERLINS!!!!
Super cool. I am a private pilot of a pitts special. If I had endless cash I would do nothing but mess with old planes
It’s my #1, beyond the plane itself, it’s the whole idea of its concept and production that is unique. Using crafts outside the realm of aeronautics it pure genius. It’s the plus that make a difference with other magnificent aircrafts.
Was the plane on the left a Hurricane?
I'd rather have a ride in a Mossie than any other WW11 aircraft. Pure Beauty....
The sounds are just insane. Image sitting not in one, but between two Spitfires roaring their Merlins at the same time.
Great! Where is this aircraft now?
Fantastic thanks a bunch
Love it! Some day perhaps I’ll make Oshkosh . I still drive trucks and deliver up that way
The most beautiful plane ever built!
10 Merlin's in unison what a sight and sound ❤️❤️👍
I live just up the road from the De Haviland Aircraft Museum in Hertfordshire where the Mosquito was designed. Less than a minute from Junction 22 of the M25. A must for any Mosquito fans. such a shame there are so few airworthy specimens left.
Holy shit 5:46 it starts to resonate. Bad ass with head phone on wow
The war bird that got it done...
Understanding that it was a full time job for even a good pilot to fly one of these magnificent aircraft … now throw in doing a low-level high speed bomb run, or dodging German fighter aircraft, or avoiding enemy anti-aircraft fire, you can just imagine how incredible the pilots were back in the 1940’s.
I was at this airshow and the display was freakin' awesome! Many people had tears in their eyes and grins a mile wide.
I flew in one of these,I couldn't believe how smooth it was. The sound of that Alison was unforgettable. ❤
That is the Virginia Beach Pungo Military Aviation Museum Airstrip.
The success of the Spitfire was due to ongoing development of an extraordinarily sound basis of airframe + engine. This is doubly true, and then some, of the mosquito. The Spit gets the Oscars red carpet for its grace. The Mossie? Every F1 podium!
It was. So fast and so light, , it carried no armaments and few could keep up let alone catch it.
wow
Lovely job!. Brilliant to see this elegant plane back in the air where she belongs!. 🙂
A close friend's father flew Mossies as a navigator, being transferred to a Pathfinder squadron after a tour on Wellingtons in which his plane suffered damage several times but, due to its immense strength, managed to get them home every time. His Mossie never even suffered a scratch in 2 tours. He always said that that plane saved his life.
only the British would put the landing gear handle to the right of the pilot when he has a control stick.
What a beauty !!! It seems that DCS did a good job! :)
I’m amazed anyone that flew these could still hear years later! Merlins were loud even by WWII standards. What music though!
The Hurricane was a nice extra!!
Awesome, all engine and NO music...
An elegent "warbird" for a more civilized age. Born just after WW2, the sight and sound of "classic" warbirds brings back childhood memories of staring out of my bedroom window, watching the "movements" at Hendon Aerodrome, prior to Jets replacing "REAL" aircraft.
Just magnificent...a real beauty
Imagined my Dad (Sqdr Leader DJT Sharp) escorting that Mosquito in his Hurricane ... beautiful
One of the most fabulous aircraft ever built. Period.
So, what does it cost for a ride?
as a german pilot.....the sound of a merlin on song was not a good sign.
A magnificent plane from the second world war. probably my favourite. An amazing insight and video. The Hurricane tagging along the icing on the cake, well done!!!
All credit to you all !!!
