Bought the latest copy of peep show today after finding it in my favourite comic book shop. All excited, I had no idea there was a new edition out and I read it all in one go. I go online and find the news, it's so sad, I can't believe it was a year ago. Thanks for this video and for helping to preserve the memory of someone unafraid to capture the flawed human experience.

Hey guys, I'm guessing you'll have heard the incredibly sad news about Bernie Mireault by now. To say I'm shocked and saddened is massive understatement. I was only thinking about emailing him on Sunday, so to find out that he passed on Monday makes me feel super guilty for not quite getting around to it. Goddamn it, I'm so fuckin pissed off that I'll never get to speak to him again! Sorry fellas, I don't really know what to say right now...I think I'm messing this up. All the best Eli, Ben and Matt. I got to be in the LA version in 1993 but mine was different. I got to be a Klingon and push a button and act like something exploded. I still have my VHS and recorded my parts from the tv on my iPad which I posted on Twitter and Facebook.

Great observation by Ben regarding the cover referencing Batiaque's love of old-school, noir detective novels - and its juxtaposition with how the scene goes down in reality. Also, wasn't sure right away the last page reveal was Renute upon first look (although it is). Just felt like that wasn't necessarily alluded to in any way prior to this moment, and with him attacking his own loyal servant, the whole thing caused me some initial confusion.

One of the most amazing things to watch. John is creating this masterpiece - and making small talk while he's doing it! Unreal skill. I'm in awe.
