Q) If my body is a temple, should it be decorated like one?
Q) Was "my little children" disrespectful when used to address the church?
Q) If God is the only one that can be omnipresent, how does Satan have the power to speak lies to so many people at once? In other words, how does his power work over us? Also, since Satan was thrown out of heaven and is the ruler of this earth, does he take on physical body and living on earth or is he present in hell? Like where is Satan? Did he “die” when he got cast out heaven?
Q) Jesus told Peter that He was going to build His church on him. How did this actually turn out? I find it interesting that Jesus says this to Peter, and yet many of the books/letters, of the Bible were written by Paul - and these letters are written to churches that he started. It seems as if Jesus should have told Paul that His Church would be built on him, and not Peter. Can you help me understand this better?

    When people bring up my tattoos as disrespecting my temple, and also bring up the old Levitucus passage, I tell them Leviticus 19:28 is talking about the High Priest, if you were the High Priest and you were expected to go in once a year and offer up oblations and sacrifice for the people then it's true you weren't supposed to mark yourself like the pagans. That's the context. Plus Paul says he bears the mark of Christ in his flesh Galatians 6:17 I could consider a tattoo of a cross to be that. In Revelations 19:16 it says Jesus will have King of Kings and Lord of Lords written in his thigh; to me that sounds like some sort of tattoo.

    God never reminds us of our past mistakes and he never condemns us either. Especially when we repent of our mistakes. Therefore, if someone wrongs us and repents. We shouldn't hold onto their past mistakes and constantly convict them and remind them of their mistakes. I've learned this with my wife ☹️. It hurts to constantly be reminded and convicted of our past mistakes by someone whom we love and care for ☹️.

      @TheHolyGhost777 - Everyone starts their spiritual life as a baby Christian, and asks questions to grow in their knowledge of God, and scripture. The Bible is a very challenging book to understand in places, and we'd much rather have people ask questions in an attempt to grow in their faith, and understand it rightly - then guess or assume answers and not engage in "iron sharpening iron."

    God has already forgiven us of sins to go to heaven (Acts 10:43). Our sins can now cause us to lose fellowship with God (1 John 1:6). We cannot lose salvation, but we can lose the close relationship of fellowship with God. This is why we should confess our sins and He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us of all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

      @torontobiblestudy - thanks for watching and commenting. Happy you checked us out. The debate about losing salvation is an age old one for sure, and I believe the wrong question to be asking. As followers of Jesus, we need to be constantly striving to grow closer to Jesus and our relationship with Him. Not worrying about how far away we can get, or what we can do or not do to lose our salvation. The goal is always to be CLOSER to Jesus, even in our suffering and times of doubts. Thanks again for watching and interacting.

    This is just make-believe with imaginary characters, Bud. That is why no one has ever demonstrated the existence of Yahweh in reality in real-time as a sentient being as described. He's only a book character.

      @@hillcitychurch1173 There is an internet full of other christians who claim to interact with Yahweh and his son. We can sort through some of those to find methods in which it's claimed Yahweh can reveal himself. I see pastors and preachers. I hear them talk with such knowledge of how Yahweh thinks and feels. Somehow. You guys claim he exists in the present and people are claiming interactions. Where is he right now? There is a reason why I call him an imaginary character. You, as a human being sets a standard for what a real being is. A claimed invisible being is indistinguishable from an imaginary character. At some point you will have to acknowledge this.

      @@atheistcomments I truly appreciate your response. It seems very genuine and heartfelt, and I understand where you are coming from. Let me attempt to respond with some thoughts, briefly and with some grace. When you use the term Yahweh, it implies an understanding of the OT (Jewish) God. I believe there are two main ways that people (pastors included) can know what Yahweh thought/felt/is like/commanded. The first is through the words of the Old Testament, which is the recorded version of the oral history passed down through Jewish preaching/teaching and history. Many of it's teachings and historical recordings have been proven valid through other sciences such as archaeology, as well as other historical books (non religious). The second way is through what we as Christians call "General Revelation" - which means what we can discern through the world around us. An example would be that God is creative, because of the beauty of creation, God is orderly because of the ordered nature of creation and the fine tuning of the universe, etc. These are obviously more vague and open to interpretation. What the OT God said and who He is, are revealed to us in these ways, but there is another way that God reveals Himself to us. The person of Jesus (who is an historical figure) and his life, death, and resurrection, demonstrated that He was in fact God in human form. Therefore, what He said, taught and demonstrated about God can be used as "knowledge of God" (who He is, what He desires, how He interacts with us, what He feels) as well. Jesus was not invisible, nor imaginary. There is more recorded about Him historically, than any other source of ancient literature. What He taught, and His resurrection from the dead, are recorded in the New Testament of the Bible for all of us to see, learn from and interact with. While there can be different interpretations of certain parts of these texts, they too are neither imaginary, nor invisible. I will grant you that the reality of the Holy Spirit working in and through people and revealing things about God is much more subjective, and easier to dispute. As a Bible-believing Christian, I take the words of scripture literally (when it's meant to be), and I believe that the Holy Spirit of God is real and speaking to God's followers today, but like I said, I can see why some would understandably question that. It should be stated, that ANYTIME the Holy Spirit speaks to a person, the message would have to line up with what/who God is in Scripture and throughout history, in order to be considered "from God" and not tainted by human understanding, or lack thereof. I'll end with this, your claim that God is invisible may seem true in a strictly naturalistic sense. You cannot see Him physically in front of you. But such is also the case with certain things like gasses, the wind, etc. Those things are evidenced by their affects. They are DISTINGUISHABLE because of the affects they have on the natural world. I believe the affects of God are evidenced in both the natural (creation, fine-tuning, etc), and supernatural (or spiritual) world/realms, in which we live, and therefore, He is not truly invisible or indistinguishable. I appreciate you engaging in this conversation, and your thoughts.

      @@atheistcomments do you not count anything in the Bible, other recorded history, or anything I mentioned, such as the existence and fine tuning of the universe as "receipts?" If so, then I believe you have created an impossible standard for ANYTHING or anyone to meet. Based on that standard, you cannot prove the existence of anything other than your immediate surrounding (nothing in history can be proven that predates you).

    I got your drift. Clearly, you will endorse slavery in this day and age with that BS you spout about fairness. Probably will build a church to process and auction them too. Clearly, morality does not reside in your 'not fair' God.

    • @hillcitychurch1173
      @hillcitychurch1173 8 місяців тому

      @nyxiz4232 - I thank you for watching and for your engagement with our post. I will only answer your thoughts by saying that your thoughts on our position as it regards human slavery, are completely false. We would NEVER endorse the ownership of a human being by another. All humans are created by God in His image and are loved by Him. They have worth, simply because they are children of God. Biblical "slavery" was a system entered into by both parties, as a way of repaying debts, not of one person owning another. Trafficking and abuse of human beings in ANY way is sinful, and not acceptable to us, but more importantly God. Fairness and equality are not one and the same. God is JUST, God has given all His children equal status (the opportunity for it through Christ) under the cross - but He is not "fair" with us. If he treated us all "fairly" - we would get the eternal separation from Him we deserve. Thank God, He is unfair in that regard!

    Adam and Eve is just a story, it didn’t happen if you go by the demonstrable evidence. We know through science that modern humans have been around at least 100,000 years or more. The myth of Adam and Eve would have occurred around 6,000 years ago as the Bible says these were the first 2 people. That’s just one of many facts that the Adam and Eve story is fake. But if you believe that the story is more than 6,000 years old then you don’t believe the Bible’s ancestries list fromAdam to Jesus, which again make the Bible unreliable.

    • @hillcitychurch1173
      @hillcitychurch1173 2 роки тому

      Robert, I understand this question completely, but i think the same could be said of you and I. We choose to sin and disobey God all the time, we cause misery to ourselves and others, and yet God chose to create us, out of His love for us, and His desire to have a relationship with us. If God truly wanted to end all misery and sin, He'd have to start with eliminating us. Perhaps this is the dame reason He created Satan, out of His love for angels, and even knowing Satan's choices, He saw fit to. Tough stuff for sure. Thanks for your thoughts.

    9) Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? 10) Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. 11) But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. 12) And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold , all that he hath [is] in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand . So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
