I’d change the oil in it to make sure it’s real, got one exactly like that, came to find out there wasn’t any fluid in it was just a empty canister that did nothing
Hey thomas, love your bike. About to start my daytona swap in my grom after my built grom motor threw a rod. I had a few questions if you didnt mind, you are pretty much the only active resource for this swap, even in the fourms haha. I was just wondering how well the front and rear sprocket line up, and if you used the chimera engine mounts or did you make your own? Thanks brother! Ride safe 🤘
@@danielvannuland2681 there aline its a tad away from wheel i used 1 washer each bolt to kick it out only 1/16 chain straight other than my lop sided rear wheel im going to get aluminum ones its one my list its really plug and play for the most part i did all the extra goodies to make it reliable and solid and its been turn key since othrr thsn oil changes and occasional wireing issue that are my falt its been great
@@Tuckem2STOGS thats great to hear, i keep finding old fourm posts from 15 years ago about the daytona being a hit or a miss. What "other goodies" did you add to make it more reliable? My wife will kill me if i blow up a new motor too soon LOL. I planned to keep rev limit at 10k like my grom engine was. Did you go through the motor at all when it arrived? Idk if i can trust a chinaman torque wrench lol.

thomas i have a question bro, i really would like my bike to be reliable, assuming proper maintenance, oil changes valve adjustments etc, do you think the 212cc 4 valve is reliable as the 212cc 2 valve? its hard to find info, and my searches on the web dont turn up much except dirt bike guys using this to race. i dont plan on beating the snaut out of it, but obviously ill bang some gears once in a while. also what is the redline on the 4 valve? how high do you rev it out to? im also curious how high the 2 valve revs too, but also i cant find any data . i do see alot of people running the 2v 212cc on the street, and claim to be happy with it ( im ok with not hitting 87 mph on a nice day lol, but being able to crest 75 mph with either engine, tells me that they will both cruise nicely at 60-65 mph. i mean the money isnt the issue, i can get the 212cc 4 valve, and i know its much stronger, but as far as my bike being able to be ridden all year, with just basic maintenance , do you think the 212cc 4 valve, stock , with a good carb tune, makes for a reliable street bike? or is it better to go 212 2v, though not as strong, might be more reliable? i value your opinions man . and im also curios of the rev ranges between these 2 engines. thanks Thomas.
Well I was concerned a lot just like you about reliability all the stuff online not much if you ask me wasn't saying good thing so I was skeptical I was thinking it would blow in 20 hours I wanted the Daytona cuz I thought it had better reliability so I wanted to get the better motor it's held up great now I'm at 140 hours I ride it like I stole it every time I ride it ripping it to the red line every chance I get about 10,000 RPM the FE stops making power because the cam other Daytona animas can redline up to 15k the fsm motors there equipped with a higher reving cam and have lighter flywheels they said those cams aren't compatible with the FE motor but they look identical I mean the only thing I have to do if I buy a cylinder that's not for NFE it's just cut a little bit of the fins so it fits the starter but other than that the motors are identical other than the flywheel and cam so I still think you could put those hams in that piece anyways it's better because you're not revving it out to its max so it's more longevity honestly these motors are great I haven't had one issue other than it popping out of fifth gear every once in awhile it's annoying but hasn't caused any damage really I've learned to work around it you can build a bulletproof engine if you want to just put it all new bearings in a new crank and forged piston for valve head and you're good to go I don't know and I can't attest for the zongshin 2124 valves I know that the song Shen motors have a steel line cylinder versus a nickel cell coated aluminum one the Daytona has and you have the quick access to the clutch and actually these Daytona anima motors share the same clutch as a Honda rebel so you can buy the Honda rebel friction discs and swap those out no problem it's pretty cheap I say go to Daytona 4 valve you won't regret it

@@Tuckem2STOGS Thomas i have been doing a bunch of research man, and the market is all over the place. the zs motors with the 4 valve heads are easy to get, but they do not have the same clutch access cover on the side of the case, but are basically the same bottom ends. i would much rather have the legit daytona , and am having trouble finding a usa distributor . i tried Ridernomics . and for a long time now since following you , they are sold out on these and have no stock, i recently emailed them , as i would love to have one of these engines for my vader , and get it from someone local . ive read so many posts of people buying similar engines like the zs motors, and they have had a terrible time with customs. either way , they are almost the same price, and i would much rather have the legit daytona. im ok with the 190, but i cant find a us distributor that sells the fz5 ( zero overlap cam, electric start 5 speed ) i know your a busy guy buddy . no rush in responding, but do you happen to know where i could get one of these motors here in the us? ridernomics has no stock, except maybe one model of the kickstart only engine. i cant find anything available here in the usa , and a few companies i have found that offer it, show pictures of both the anima with the quick access clutch , and the zs motors in there product pages , which makes me suspicius because i dont really know what im getting. gokartsusa for example, lists that they have the motor ( gokartsusa.com/150-4-Valve-race-engine-Pit-Bike-1.aspx ) but if you look at the product pictures, they clearly show 2 different engines , some pics of a zs without the quick access clutch, and then one picture shows the legit daytona, and the product page says its a daytona lol .. that already makes me not want to buy it from them, because i have no idea what they will send me, and i notice this trend amongst many offering this engine. if i have to buy the zs im fine with that, but i hate it that these people post pictures of the anima too when i know , ill open that box and see the zs clutch cover lol. its terrible these companies make this confusing. i even read people are buying 212s, even the 212 2v, and they unbox a zs 190 . can you help me. and anyone with this same issue, find this motor here in the usa? thank you for your time brother / fist bump , and a bear hug.

Dude if that sensor is picking up right you should have melted a piston. 15+ AFR wide open on an air/oil cooled engine.

i have this exact same build going on but i have the stock wire clutch and my left hand is exhausted on long rides, can you shoot the link or which kind of hydraulic clutch kit your using to fit the zs212 motor. just wanna by right one so i dont have to send stuff back and forward waiting to long to find right one.

i know this is old but why a 02 sensor on a carbureted engine ?
It is a wideband sensor. That is how you tune the carburetor to a certain AFR ratio. Works excellent.

Yes for that one my final pipe I ended up with 38.1mm OD with 34.925mm it's 1 ½ OD 1 ⅜ ID works great with flange mount instead of where pipe inserts into head and flange holds it in

No stock plugs right in except you to switch one wire on the stator plug that goes from the harness to the stator I believe it's a positive wire on the stator plug but the harness has a green for ground there so you have to remove it
