Garbage sportsmanship.
It's not the worst ending, it's definitely the one of the worst ways to lose a game.
Very good play by the thrid base who called the missed base and asked for a time out. The coach did well too, instead of starting to talk to umps, he made the good decision.
That’s some bs
How is that the "worst" ending? The runner missed the bag, the team in the field was playing heads up ball and noticed it, they made the appeal play, the runner was called out, the call was correct, game over. It sucks, but I would think a "worst" ending would have to include a blatantly botched call from the umpire. That is, if an after the fact replay would have shown that the runner had caught the inside corner of the bag, or something like that.
The bags are big. STEP on the damn things! Lesson over.
...as determined by supporters of the losing team.
That left fielder is the luckiest man since Lou Gehrig...
A worse baseball ending would be if it was a blown call, or straight up wrong call
I disagree, its a great ending! shows how heads up play is rewarded
am I crazy or did his back heel hit then slide of the corner of the bag??
3rd base coach knew right away
All you need is any part of the foot, including the heel spikes to just graze any part of the bag. Can't really tell here. The only way I am making this call, as an ump, is if the kid planted his to the side of the bag (which is easier to see if he missed it). That being said, whether or not his foot grazed it, if he had cut the inside corner of the base, as you are taught, it would never have been a point of contention.
That is a tough one. Ump had a good view, and was watching, but it was tight. Almost impossible to tell if the heel would have grazed the bag. If i was the ump, I never would have made that call.
having umpired levels of baseball from little league to ncaa DI over the last 21 years, one of the things that never ceases to (sarcasm alert) amaze me is why baserunners do not focus one that one simple syllable: BASErunner. it's there; it's big, square, and white; everybody can see it. STEP ON IT. if you choose not to, nobody's fault but your own... and probably your coach. GO CHIEFS!!! RED SEA!!! CHIEFS KINGDOM!!!
Worst case of sportsmanship I have ever seen. That was terrible. What are we teaching our kids here? Fairplay no I don’t think so
why is this "the worst"? the ump saw it, the players saw it and appealed. thats proper baseball
In a championship game I played in, I missed 3rd base twice in one game, we still ended up winning, but it was still really embarrassing
1,000th comment this is just a smart coach
Missed it by a mile.
i like the part where the black blur is near the white blur
Cheeters
I hope that kid is haunted for the rest of his life. Squirt some tears.
Dangggg
Here's how I always handled the appeal play: if a guy blatantly cuts the bag short, I called him out on appeal. If he barely misses the bag and the play at any further base is close, I'll call him out on the appeal. If the runner barely misses the bag and the play at any further base isn't close or even attempted, I'll pretend I didn't see it. The spirit of the rule is to keep a runner from being safe at the next base(s) if he cheats by cutting the bag short. If the missed base would have no effect on the play, I ignore it.
Bad ending? Pretty amazing if you ask me.
He's meal probably got burnt
OH YEAH LETS GO PETALUMA
, very impressive that they caught that this is not the worst ending it is a great ending
i missed first base before and thank fuck the umpire wasn’t like that i wouldn’t of got my double
Why was he out? It wasn’t a force play
He failed to touch the base.
It was an appeal play.
This is more like the best ending
Worst for whom?! And why?!
Number 4 for NorCal has to be very relieved
Bullshit. You never know if the tip of his back heel touched it you need a fucking magnifying glass
I would have done the same.
worst ending, actually its a great ending... for a kid to pick that up and let the manager know... awesome!
Why the worst ending? The runner clearly missed the bag they did what every smart team would do and appeal to the umpire.
That's cheap
He ticked it
more like a good ending to the N. california!
one of the many dumb rules in baseball
Why do you think that runners being required to touch each base is dumb?
@@alanhess9306 No, ruling it an out after time was called was what's dumb.
@@Tyrone181 That is the way it is done at all levels of baseball. Maybe you should comment on soccer or lacrosse, because you know nothing about baseball. What is dumb is you commenting on something you obviously know nothing about.
yes, he missed tha bag. You have to step ON the bag or you risk this happening
Why is this the worst its a good call for the third base player for paying attention
It pretty fuming the person who made must been rooting for the team that lossex
Good heads up baseball
Sorry but that’s smart baseball. Unlike other sports the ump can see the miss but won’t call it unless you appeal. Really smart baseball!
Ummm I don't know... To me that was way to close of a call to make for ending the game. His foot looked like it might of actually been barely touching. I just think it was way to close to just decide that he was out. In my opinion, shitty call, let them play.
I would be the exorcist my head spinning around and pea soup shooting out my eyes if I was the coach of that team Stevie wonder could see the back of the kid's foot hit the base and even if there is NO WAY anybody not bought off could tell he 100% did not touch the base to change a call like that?
Great ending, good job by third baseman
