You can actually do this on macOS Ventura actually by using older versions of Whisky (1.1.1 is the latest working on for Ventura)

Thank you for this toutorial! Portal 1 works for me, but Portal 2 crashes as soon as I start the actual game. However, I can use the game-settings menu. Do you have any idea what the problem could be? I am using an M3 Pro.
For those interested in the solution: I reduce the resolution to 4:3 and 640x480. Then I start the actual game and then increase the resolution again. Unfortunately, I have to do this every time I start the game.

I'm stuck on step 6 I keep getting error "Build failed -> task in 'engine' failed with exit status 1 (run with -v to display more information)" any help would be appreciated.

When I try to download steamCMD, it gives me a .zip rather than a .exe, how do I fix this?
You are probably downloading the mac version, make sure it’s for windows

Make sure you do the merge with the hl2 folder, otherwise it doesn’t work
Hi, thanks for your work; it runs great on my M1 Mac at max settings, no frame drops that I can tell. I had a question about running mods, specifically MMod; is there a way to do this using this source port? I added the files for MMod to my sourcemods folder, and it *mostly* works (new weapon anims), but not everything (HUD changes, graphical changes). EDIT: Sorry, forgot to mention the only way I got it to work was by swapping out the 'bin' folder included with the mod for the one from the source port. Also, you can't even open the mod settings menu, lol ("Unknown command: OpenHL2MModOptionsDialog")
Awesome guide I got the game to launch & I liked the video. When I try to join my favorite zombie mod server I get "This server is using an older protocol than your client"

hi! just followed your instructions, on my fresh reinstall on Sonoma, the game starts, but in settings I can only find 640x480 resolution, when clicking on down arrow, nothing shows. also hud resolution is empty, and cannot change aspect ratio. I have an intel MacBook air 2018
