A Freediver's Daydream: What We Do In The Shallows
Переглядів 1875 місяців тому
We decided to showcase the wreckage of the Paddle Steamer Ozone by playing a game of underwater hide and seek around the various parts of it. The comparative lack of marine life is due to summer holidays with kids jumping off the upper structures of the wreck, and people paddling, swimming and snorkelling all around it. We only just managed to keep them out of the frame! HISTORY The PS Ozone wa...

David joins seven other students to learn Dynamic No Fins technique from the 2023 World Champion in Melbourne. David thought he had a pretty good grasp of DNF but... Dynamic No Fins is a specialized niche of freediving in which divers swim either horizontally without fins. The vertical version without fins is known as CNF which stands for Constant Weight No Fins. We mostly use DNF and CNF for p...

Thanks, Vicky. Darren will be happy you like the music! All the wreckage is overgrown with kelp, sponges and other sea growth and some of it is hardly even recognizable as man-made any more.

Really Nice to watch, D and A. I tried holding my breath for the entire 4 minute 53 running length but I couldn't manage.

Hello Andrea and David lovely video . Y’all like living dangerously in the Aussie waters there are lots of sharks be safe .❤❤

Thanks, Rachel. Lovely to have you on board. Truth is, we're lucky to ever see a shark! Most are not dangerous to humans even though the media would suggest otherwise. Much more danger of being hit by a paddle board, jetski or boat!

@@jennineparke8711 Thanks Jennine. There are freedivers many times better than us at holding their breath. But we're pretty happy with where we're at.

Definitely gets cold on the reef!! An amazing place: I've never been there, and although I generally resist so-called environmental art, I think this is a brilliant work. Looking forward to the next vid of your visit there.
