Did the new rollbar increase the wind noise with the top down?
Just snug the spark plugs down to the cylinder head stupid..Dont need to torque it

I don't understand how they ok-ed roll bars there are clearly shorter than the people's heads??
About how many hours did the job take? The mechanic I went to said I could take four or five hours
That does sound like the quotes I got as well, which is book time. It has been a while, but I think this took me less than 2 hours.
I’ve got the middle rear and driver rear left. Changing my 2018 with 45k miles. Two of the fronts the spark plug porcelain was cracked. I didn’t do it during removal. These turbos burn up plugs well before 100k. I’ve got the airaid cai and the borla exhaust. Sounds awesome.
I bought a set of magnetic sparkplug sockets with built in extensions just for these dual over head cam motors. They're a game changer
How much do the spark plugs have to be calibrated?
How hard it is to raise and lower the top now?

Is it just me or will does adding this make it much more difficult to put the soft top up and down? Looks like it is right in the way of one's hand? If so maybe better to go with hard top kit along with the bar? Which I might do in a heartbeat but my damn wife LOVES driving with the top down....grrrr

Great video! My dealership wants to charge me $770 to do mine (+ coils). This convinced me I can now go give them the bird and do it myself.
honestly if I install a roll bar in my ND and tear it down that far, i'll just rock that shit with a stripped interior because race car

I love them both, they are both excellent but for different purposes. For commuting and freeway blasts nothing beats the Tesla. For track days and back road blasting, nothing beats the Miata.
I wish it was available in Europe. We only have SPS Motorsport rollbar here and it's much worse product.

Roll Bar is lookin' good! Did it require any extensive modifications to the plastics, or just more fitment/finish type adjustments? I'm pondering on getting one myself, but feeling a little bit intimidated lol.
yes the back trim needs to be cut. I just got done taking my stock stuff out. pulling everything out took about 7-9 hours with a few stops to harbor frights for tools.
This vid didn’t help me at all. You should make a vid on: 1. taking out the seats, 2. Removing all the stock plastic, 3. Removing the stock hoops, 4. Modifying the stock structure to allow installation of the M4, 5. Installing the M4, and 6. Clean up and finalization. 73 Tom KC3QAC
I am sorry this didn't help, but that wasn't my intent. The install took me over 8 hours, the general rule is filming doubles work time, I just didn't have 16 hours to film this properly as I was prepping for a track day. It would be great if Hard Dog did an install video, I suggest you suggest it to them!
@@lannerssecurity9838 sorry, I didn’t mean to sound critical. I thought you were a videographer and I was trying to make a good recommendation on videoing the process. Thanks for the effort you went to. You convinced me that I don’t really need a hard a dog.

Hard dog m4 can be bought from Goodwin racing flyin Miata or track dog racing
Or directly from the manufacturer, Bethania Motors.
Have you experienced a difference with the K&N filter in your Explorer?. I know if differs from all cars...
The difference is you can hear the turbos and blow off valves. There isn't a perceptible performance gain.
@@sfrscca7165 so I imagine gas consumption mileage is not affected in any way....
@@TigerOscar78 it is worse because you are always mashing on the throttle 😁
@@sfrscca7165 performance gain was 13hp on the non turbo. I'd imagine the Ecoboost would gain atleast 20
This tutorial needs more likes!!!!! Did it yesterday, all your instructions made the process easy. Probably took 2 hours taking my time. Recommend a magnetic socket and integrated rotating extension and a breaker bar. Cheap fix to replace coil boots and round seal same time. Didn't need to remove passenger harness clip for back passenger one, just pulled out if way and fanagled. Good time to check intake for oil when unbolting and moving intercooler tubing out of way for rear drivers side lol. Spark torque is 132 inch pounds.
Thank you for making this. I just finished my 2014 sport in about an hour! For the left rear plug, I was able to get it out without removing the wires you were talking about with a few different sized extensions. Also I used a extendable magnet to pull the plugs once loosened.This engine is much easier than the non turbo 3.5L. On that one the intake manifold has to be removed.

Mac sells spark plug sockets that are like 5 or 6 inches long so you don't leave the socket behind, if you do this regularly.

Looking good Guys! I was in the Back VW! For Josh, the biggest mistake I saw was on 9. You really need to get ALL the way out to the right as you crest the hill. I know it looks like there isn't any track there, but I promise its there.
Thanks for the info. I still have trouble trusting the track will be there, I am working on it :). I am out there to have fun and gain some experience. Seth has a lot more experience than me and it shows in the lap times! -Josh
Any mods to the car for track prep? I'd be worried about that gen 1 engine at high sustained revs.
Haven't made any mods yet. Anything you suggest?
