Thank you for being detailed. I'm in my 60's with arthritis so I understand the finger issues.
Steve O is that you?
you have anymore of this rainbow??
I got some for sale hit me up:p
If you just buy a set of torch tip cleaners, the size you need is there and has the grooved sides to clean the jet
Wow
getting ready for hurricane Milton and this was the fix I needed. whats your venmo? you got $20 coming your way. thank you!
Thank you!!! This fixed my machine A couple comments: + i didn't need to remove the air breather box and snorkel. I used a ratcheting box end wrench to remove the bowl. + In my case i didn't need to remove the jet. I sprayed it down with carb cleaner and poked the side and vertical jets with a guitar string, then sprayed again. And now she quietly purrs
That did it. Just ran some wire through the jets. One was bigger than the other. Runs like a champ.
Do you sell rough?
I use Plymore clear acrylic bases these days available on eBay or amazon, I then use a strong acrylic cement and glue a support piece of acrylic that I cut and shape from acrylic pieces bought on eBay to the base .. then I use a piece of mineral tack on the back of the specimen and lean the specimen back on the support. When displayed in my cabinet you don’t see the back support, and there is no unsightly glue blob to look at. I got the idea decades ago from studying the minerals displayed at the Los Angeles museums gem and mineral hall. The custom acrylic bases you can have made these days I’m not a big fan of, the last 3 specimens I bought this past couple of years came with them .. but you can see right through the bases to where they were custom milled .. and to me it’s a bit distracting .. but it’s a subjective thing. If I were to start all over again in this modern day and age I would get those custom 3D printed bases that don’t require you to send your specimen to them, all the big museums use opaque bases these days in neutral colors that don’t attract the eye, acrylic bases can draw your eye away from the specimens and to the bases themselves depending how you have your cabinet lit, this is a problem I still wrestle with to this day, the LA museum (except for the Calif. wall) use neutral gray bases for all their high end bases .. I really like those. What’s needed on UA-cam is a good video on display lighting and the art of display lighting itself, perhaps you could do a video on that sometime?
Great feedback! Neutral color may be something to consider. This video lists lighting / display information: ua-cam.com/video/t72RNjt_KjI/v-deo.html
Clogged spark arrestors are another think that will keep these machines from running. Take of the end panel where the exhaust comes out. Undo the band holding the arrestor in place. Pull out the arrestor and clean or replace (recommended, cheap and easier than trying to clean out the carbon.) These generators are very good and I see them replacing the overpriced Honda units.
The soud is not very nicely clear here in Africa .make it better.
I just got into lapidary I would love to have a piece of fordite. I'm a huge rock nerd lol. 😂 This is awesome thanks for your detailed and well spoken video.
Followed most of your proceedure, worked good. Neither jet would come out but my small wire went through to clean. One suggestion is that you can set the start knob just b4 it shuts down and it will keep running till it is out of gas then turn to off. I tested it and there was no gas in the bowl.
Better than what you started with...but still not running at !00%...Goo job though!!
Nicely done!
Your ingenuity, economy, and business are inspiring!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I spent 2 days trying to fix my generator after sitting for 9 months with old gas. I changed the oil, spark, cleaned the tank, cleaned the carb and still nothing. I thought it was the elevation I was at in Wyoming and I watched this video and found the horizontal jet and it was still clogged so I sprayed it with carb cleaner and after a few pulls and loosening the gas cap it It finally started up and I have an air conditioner Thank you for this video ❤️ Thank you Soo much
Is there anyway I could get ahold of you??? Looking for a feed motor for a 18" saw
Hi John here
Good job 👍 believe me you are better than some professional mechanics at dealerships
Hi Kelly, what blade do you use for cutting fordite.
I should have married you! ***smile***
Thank you for this technique. I am new to the hobby and just bought a unit that had been sitting for 8 years. Much mud in the bottom. Got most of the oil and mud out. However, the oil (and I'm not sure what type of oil it is...the fellow passed away and the son sold it to me) has a very strong petroleum smell. He used the slab saw to cut obsidian for making arrow heads. In the CNC world the cutting fluid would get very smelly due to bacterial growth and need changing. Not sure if this is part of the smell. Is there something that is commonly done to reduce petroleum odor of the oil, or of the finished cut rock that smells from the oil? Thanks in advance!
Great job…… especially with your hand tremors going on👍🏼
Great video. So much easier than taking the carburetor off. I could not get the jet out but was able to clean it with a small needle. Put it back together and started on the first pull. Female ingenuity!!😊
Can you show how to disassemble that completely to take the belt off and everything?
old guitar strings work well for cleaning jets
Ive been running mine almost daily for 2 years. Ive had to start running it with the side cover off or it overheats and shuts down, ive had the sparkalator foul twice from running slow bc the draw was low for an extended period and the etc lowered the rpms and ive started to have trouble with the co2 sensor. Need to delete it, i never run it indoors. Overall its a tough unit. Outside 24/7 for 2 years strapped on my trailer and run daily for electric/heat/ac in my truck in my off time.
0:24 That spider just casually hanging out
What is wrong with you, why do you have hand tremors, I'm asking because I have the same thing and I was just wondering what it's from. Thank you.
thank you for the video and how to drain fuel. and look at the carburetor mine is leaking fuel when tilted a little. My generator predator 2000 when starting the overload light comes on with no load it was not doing this before I changed the oil and spark plug. I took it somewhere and he won't work on it but didn't really tell me what was wrong with it after charging me fee. He said generator side take it here so so place
I have table top turkey oven tyat works great
Thank very much!
What settings did you have it on out of interest?
I have the same generator, thank god my yamaha 1000 generator and my suzuki outboard have those low speed little jets on the outside of the carb
Good job
purple passion... nice
WHEN YOU GRABBED THAT, YOUR HAND STARTED SHAKING, YOUR BREATHING CHANGED...OMG, I FELL IN LOVE!
What if it's a brand new blade and it's still binding up?
I just found a pile of this on the back of my property. Probably a couple hundred pounds. No idea what to do with it though
Why are you posting a video instead of asking questions.Good god but funny to watch
Im an Engineer, I rarely watch videos even if im totally stuck. I was taught from young to work a problem using patience and critical thinking. Im not opposed to people who do rely on videos but If you rely on your skills like muscles they get a good workout because what would happen if this issued occurred when I'm 200 miles from town where theres no internet and I always relied on videos to learn? Id be up the creek. The more you rely on learning and honing skills when the real oh crap moment happens you'll be use to working the problem and get the problem solved vs having to drive to town to get internet to figure it out or take it to a engine shop. In so many ways doing this has saved my bacon.
How do you protect the sticker? Just tape it?
😂
Found some nice translucent chunks of Williamsite in Washington DC boundaries, they’re gorgeous! From Michigan and Been collecting rocks for lapidary and it’s exciting to discover a stunning local specialty. Nowhere near as nice as your parcel though!
this helped a lot
That’s a hell of a piece to find right off the edge of the road with a 14 kHz detector just below the surface of flow gravel. 😅
I have a Lee Lapidary also and I am looking for any info on it. Can you get hold of me please
